This woman has sixteen children... And my characters are babysitting. They're screwed.

I... I kind of feel like I should drag the narration out a bit longer and go for a more appropriate end, but this is really hard to follow

There were fights (“Give me back my teddy!”) and tattling (“Matthew stole my teddy!”) and denials (“No I didn’t, Dara’s lying!”).

This just makes me giggle.

It turned out to be a pleasant day for November. The sun seemed almost strangely cheerful and bright, but its pale rays didn't carry enough warmth for me to think it was really trying, and I staunchly resolved to keep my coat on.

I like this, for some reason.

Five more minutes of forced conversation and she would have had to resort to puns and anecdotes about this one time when she set something on fire (there were a lot of those anecdotes).

I'm so glad I noticed that I had a plothole to be filled, otherwise these words would never have been written.
