Hey guys! So, as some of you might know, I was recently hired to work at this awesome video game store in my town. They're completely independent and local, and the best way I can think of to describe it is a nerdy playground wonderland. They sell games and consoles both new and old (and by old, I mean like...Atari and beyond old XD), and everything in between. They've got game guides and all kinds of accessories and video game merchandise; they host birthday parties and tournaments and lock-ins, make appearances at conventions and such...they pretty much do everything imaginable. It is truly a gamer's paradise.
That being said, I /really/ want to make a good impression here. I wasn't interviewed before I was hired, and the manager said that I have a lot of good stuff going for me, but the trend has been that the people that weren't interviewed beforehand haven't turned out that great.
This is why he has offered me a CHALLENGE.
At the time of the challenge's issuing, the store had 1,949 likes on Facebook. The manager proposed that I try and raise that number up to 2,000. The prize for this is supposedly video game street cred/possibly some extra responsibilities/money, but really, I just want them to know that I care about this job and am willing to go the extra mile.
So far, I've managed to bump that number up to 1,965, and that's only been after a few hours online tonight. I've got plans to get more IRL friends to help, but I want to make absolutely sure I can reach this goal.
This is where you all come in! It would mean SO MUCH to me if those of you with a Facebook account would take a few seconds to like The Score's page.
If you'd rather not have your IRL peers see that you've liked this page (though I'm sure no one would care to raise that much of a fuss about it, lol) I think all you need to do to hide it is press the X by the notification on your wall once you go through with liking it. At any rate, every little bit counts, and I could really use all the help I can get outside of me holding my digital tin beggar's cup out to just the people I know IRL. :3
So yes! If this takes off and becomes a success, I'll definitely let you guys know how it turns out. Thank you all in advance! I LOVE YOUUUU
Merry Christmas, Robyn
