Since there seems to be some confusion, we've decided that it would be a good idea to post up a reminder/guide for on-forum language and links. The basics: If there are any questions please feel free to ask away. Remember that language varies a lot by place; so sometimes a word you may not consider all that "bad" can be a really bad word to other members, and we're trying to make this friendly to everyone.

are there some sites that are just forbidden to link to, regardless of the amount of warnings you put in the post?

What about our tumblrs? I just looked through the list of 20 ntwf personal tumblrs, and of them only 5 didn't have swearing of some sort on them (and of those, 3 only had a handful of posts, and the other 2 I didn't check thoroughly). Most of the time it's from reblogging it from links from other tumblrs- it's popular to have your blog name as ****yeah(whatever your blog is about), or from what other people have commented. It'd be a shame if we couldn't share our tumblrs with each other any more :/

I don't swear in any case, but I do typo quite a bit. What happens if one makes a typo (like, if you meant to post "shot" but typed the swear word by mistake)?

Warnings don't give you permission to post links to any of the content mentioned above. If it has content that breaks forum rules, if qualifies under the above descriptions, you cannot link to it.
Jo, we'll get back with an official clarification on that kind of topic.
Sae, such cases are almost always very very obviously typos and not intentional. There'll likely be no trouble from such things. Wouldn't worry about that at all.

Not to mention that the forum censors would likely pick up your typo and change it to our censored word.

are there some sites that are just forbidden to link to, regardless of the amount of warnings you put in the post? Proboards has a bunch of in-depth guidelines for that. The ToS says more or less the same thing as well, just with more fancy legalese.

It would be /really/ sad if I couldn't share my tumblr.

Jo, the consensus that seems to be agreed on is that, yes, in principle of the rules, the links probably shouldn't be posted depending on the frequency such a thing is done.
Here's some important clarifications:
1. Websites that are hosts for a community of users can be linked to a main page even if all the content on that mainpage may not be acceptable 100% of the time. Things like YouTube, DA, blog hosts, etc.
2. Specific user sites for those kinds of hosts (DA page, YouTube channel, tumblr page, et al) can be posted to if there's a reasonable expectation of it being clean. I.e. You're not very likely to see any of the rule-breaking content on the mainpage. Sometimes something may pop up that isn't. If that's a rare and very infrequent occurrence, it'll slide.
But if the majority of the time, mainpage content wouldn't fly, then no, posting mainpage links probably should not occur, even if for a given second it's clean. I.e. Posting a link to Penny Arcade's mainpage, not wise as you can typically find content on there that was asked to not be linked to and the main page content does change. Tumblr's will be impacted by this.
3. Static links to a clean comic, entry, etc on a website that may otherwise contain content we've asked to not be linked to are still allowed of course.
We realize that these rules may be inconvenient and disheartening. But we're trying to create a reasonable expectation that the links leading off this forum would be fit for everyone, regardless. Some people don't want to click a link and find a bunch of content that wouldn't fly here.
Now something to note, there is nothing wrong with talking about the places, sites, videos, etc. With the Tumblr example, you can still post your username and encourage people to find you. There's just no direct link allowed if content would restrict it.
And yes, reblogging does count. A reblog is very similar to a retweet and you're still making an effort to include it on a page. Whether you said it yourself or not, you're still sharing it and content is still there. So take that for what you will.
