For those in college/university or looking forward to it, what are you majoring in or planning on majoring in?
I really want to go into neuroscience. @_@ It looks so awesome in its complexity, gray areas, and importance. Much of human biology fascinates me. That and linguistics.

I'm going into architecture next year. Right now I'm thinking of going into more design oriented architecture rather than building science or project management, but you never know. I might end up taking a little project management to have those skills up my sleeve.

I'm returning to school in the fall, and will be taking courses in Cognitive Science, an interdisciplinary program that includes linguistics, psychology, computing science and philosophy. I'm going to try to make mathematics a big part of my degree as well, perhaps even switching to mathematics as a major.
In a perfect world, I'd like to be able to study music theory and classical animation. But there are only so many hours in the day, so I'm hoping to get to those after I finish my current degree. My reasoning, flawed as it may be, is that some knowledge about cognitive science and mathematics will give me an advantage in music theory and animation (for example, music theory is very mathematical in nature, and animation is about making an object's movements look physically real while also psychologically appealing). I think having a degree that includes mathematics and computing science is likely to come in handy career-wise, since a lot of people in visual arts and music need a day job to support them while they're looking for work. So, that's my reasoning.

As it stands right now, I'm a double major in Psychology and French. I initially thought psych might be too sciencey for me, but luckily, unless you specifically steer in that direction, there's not too much science at all. xD And French, well, at this point why not? It's not like I'm going to stop taking classes in it anyway.

I'm a double major in history and French (4 weeks 'till I graduate! *gloats* Only got to get though a compressed History of England 1660-2000 class!), with the intent of going in to graduate studies with a focus on Medieval Studies.
This obviously means a lot of language and history courses, but I love learning how we got to the modern world, and how it used to be so different, and yet so the same.

Your question is broader than the answers. xD You're really asking about majors, not about what sort of classes.
I'll be majoring in psychology. I'll be taking classes in a lot more than that, though -- history, anthropology, sociology, literature... but pysch is what I want to major in. (though it's fairly likely I'll double-major or minor in history as well, just looking at the courses and how interesting they could be with the right teacher.)

Initially a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, but that's now changed to an emphasis in Finance. Why? Probably because they're similar as they're both essentially crunching numbers, only with Finance, I have fewer courses to take than Accounting

I'm currently studying Physics. Class-wise, I'm entering my junior year. I just find it really interesting. Plus, there's the fact that it covers all sorts of topics, even indirectly. I'm also taking a Mathematics minor. I'm thinking of switching from double-majoring because I just don't have enough time for it. But I'll definitely continue studying math anyway; I can't imagine my studies going on without math. It's way too useful. In a perfect world, I would have all sorts of majors. One of my other majors would be neuroscience; I just find it way too interesting to ignore. I plan on taking enough biology classes so that I can take at least one neuroscience class, since I can't really double/triple major for that long. Well, I could. But. I also make up for not taking that major by reading all sorts of neuroscience stuff. I should take Human Anatomy and Physiology so that I can learn about what each section of the brain does. Then take the neuroscience course. But really? ...Man, I wish I could major in everything. xD ...Okay almost everything; I'm an awful public speaker, for instance. But I have way too many interests to count.

I'm going to be double-majoring in modern history and russian and minoring in something else, which I have not decided yet. If I'm lucky, it could be international relations or psychology and if not, social anthropology or philosophy or something else, such as a language. I'd love to learn either German, Spanish or Arabic, which are all offered.
Interestingly, my university is one of the few in the UK that give people the choice to major and minor in something. Most places just make people study one subject of their choice so I'm really lucky that I'll get more options this way. ^^

For the past two years i've double majored in English Literature and History, because they were always my best subjects and I enjoyed learning about them a lot.
I'm entering my final year now, and I plan to drop History and just major in Lit. because I wasn't enjoying History as much as I thought I would, and I wanted to put more focus on Lit., which I believe is my strongest subject.
After that, i'm hoping to go and get a masters degree in Lit. and then possibly go into Law. (Very tentative XD) I've always liked the idea of studying law, but my grades weren't sufficient to get into it straight away, but with a solid degree in humanities, they're way more likely to let me in.

I'm in my third year of university, and I've switched around so much it isn't even funny. I am terrible at this whole "making your mind up" thing. ^^;
Started off in Sciences as an earth science major. It was fun. I loved the classes, but got annoyed by the rigid structure of the degree, the lack of opportunity to add creative options, and the lab reports, which made me feel like I was more machine than student. So I bobbed over to Arts and tried focusing on English, but I got even more quickly annoyed with literary analysis, which involved what I found to be highly abstract and speculative philosophies. (I've had people try to convince me otherwise. That's cool; I'm glad you like literary analysis, but I just... don't. xD; That's my personal opinion and nothing else.)
At the moment I'm officially an English major and an anthropology minor, but I'm going to swap those around first thing I can next term, and that's where I think I'll stay for the rest of my time as an undergrad. Anthropology major, English minor. I already have almost enough English credits to fulfill a minor requirement, and anthropology is cool. It integrates both sciences and humanities, which appeals to me.
Not at all sure where I'm heading career-wise, but at least this way I'm pretty confident I can finish my degree. xD
Also, I only just officially got out of the Science faculty. x'D I even got a letter in the mail a few days ago congratulating me on making the Dean's List for Science, despite the fact that I've only taken one science class since my first term. *fails*

Psychology. :3 I'm leaning towards clinical, though I might also go the developmental route, or perhaps both. Depends on my gut feeling. xD My minor is philosophy. And it's all pretty much where I want/need to be right now. Though I am sort of tired of university. Wanna earn monnies!

I'm currently studying for a BBA with a bit of a concentration in Marketing and trying to minor in Economics. Depending on how things go this term, I might actually be switching universities at the end, drop the general business degree, and just go for a major in straight Economics and study closer to home.

You could combine the two! Maybe not directly depending on where you study, but there is a fair amount of overlap when you get into certain research areas. I applied to my university as a chemistry major. Never touched a chem class. XDD I just finished my third year and I'm a linguistics major minoring in sociology. I like to dabble in other areas when I have space in my schedule; I'm one of those people who would love to study *everything* rather than have to pick one subject to major in. I have no idea what I'm going to do when I graduate a year from now. Yay? (I'm actually officially a design major right now so I could get into some classes over the summer that I'm not taking anyway because they canceled the one I was supposed to be doing.. >.>) *has now rambled far too much on things not relative to the topic*
