Youtuber I am watching: Our sponsor is this service which allows you to buy 1-10 square feet of land in this city in Scotland, thus allowing you to refer to yourself as a Laird or Lady! Isn't that cool? Me, who lives in the same country and knows that place is a bit of a dump: This...this is not as cool or romantic as you think. xD PSA, Scotland is not just romantic craggy hills and pine forests where monarch stags roam. We've got some of that, sure. We also have back alleys that smell of various bodily fluids and are covered in broken glass from bottles of cheap and nasty tonic wine. You could just as easily become ruler of one of those back alleys. xD Well, okay, maybe not because that back alley probably already has an actual owner. But brownfield sites and crappy woods where bored teens hang out is just as likely. Can I specify that I want one of the back alleys? I wish to be Lady Breakingchains of Like This One Really Shifty Back Alley

I've been getting ads for the Muppets Haunted Mansion. On the one hand, it's nice to see the Muppets doing something, even on a platform I don't get, but on the other hand, the concept leaves a weird flavor in my mouth, as if one of the Disney exec was like, "Hey, the Muppets set a precedent, right? They made movie adaptations of classics like A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island, right? So you know what else is a timeless classic? That movie we made several years back based on one of our theme park rides!! =D"
I remember seeing The Haunted Mansion once awhile ago, and thinking it was okay. But its more lasting impact for me is that I think the two busts in the movie were one of my inspirations for my Standorf and Waller characters before the Clue RP. xD And so one part of me is furiously indignant that the Muppets actually made an adaptation of this movie and didn't make Statler and Waldorf the busts. ....And the other part of me is sorta relieved, because who knows if I might've been weirdly more upset if they were the busts, because nuuu, how dare they use my super derivative homage idea. XDD
...Anyway, if anyone sees this special, please lemme know how it is, I can't help but be curious. XD I hope it's good in terms of the Muppets, at least.

We have guests. Guests cannot go hungry. Guests will need food.
Cook enormous pot of food.
It's more than guests can eat.
It's more than family can eat.
Have leftovers for days.
#EasternEuropeanProblems
At least it's delicious food (mushroom risotto)

Adult Swim put out a trailer to gauge interest for a prospective new show called Learning with Pibby and it appears to be a giant horror crossover?? Fair warning it's kinda bloody and probably not really NTWF-appropriate but oh my god I want it to be a thing.
Nobody has ever accused me of not being an edgelord and tbh I'm already low-key obsessed, if they make this into an actual show I'm gonna freak out. xD;

How to survive going for a walk during a cold snap:
Move to a place where it's significantly colder during the winter and live there a few years. Then when you eventually move back and go out for a walk during said cold snap, you can pretend it's the colder place. This will instantly change "Ugh, it's 0F (-18C)" to "Oh, it's just zero!". Proceed to enjoy your cold weather walk as your hands freeze anyway.

Was walkin' around mid winter in a t-shirt, eating ice cream. People thought I was nuts, but it was like, 12C and that's like a nice spring day for me. Moved back to Canada an immediately missed the mild winter temperatures. XD

Today I went to the store with my mom (normally we limit it to one per trip because Pandemic, but our mental health has been suffering lately and we both planned days out today separately, so it just worked out that way). I grabbed some pepperoni because I wanted to make pizza. We got all the way to the end of the checkout and the last few items, I grabbed the pepperoni, and was juuust about to scan it when...
"Ah, nope, not buying this!" Because it had mold. (I didn't even know that could happen right away. There's a reason I don't shop at that store much anymore.)
I didn't want to bother going back for more because it wasn't really worth it. So we went off with our goods, went to the butcher's for unrelated reasons... And found much fresher and better pepperoni available there.
Sometimes things just work out better than planned. *Mentally plans pizza night.*

One of my cat's favorite games is to chase toys you throw across the room, and when I play with him I have this uncanny ability of accidentally aiming perfectly at his face. Whether I'm tossing low to the ground or throwing it high in the air, it's almost guaranteed at least once per play session that the toy will land square on his face and throw him off his pounce x'D And when I deliberately aim away from him? The toy finds and hits the face of the other cat in the room. At least they're all soft objects, so it doesn't actually hurt them, but I apologize every time xD

Me: "My current text ringtone makes me anxious. I know! I'll change it to this one that's a lot more calming but will still notify me. Yay, problem solved. =D "
*Sets phone on hard nightstand and then drifts off.* *Text is sent to me while I'm resting.* *...I forgot to turn off vibrate.*
Phone: "BZRRRRRRFFVR!!" *ding ding ^^ * Me: "AASDFDS--"

Sometimes while daydreaming, I'll come up with an idea that I think might make for an interesting dystopia story. Then I immediately cease all further thought into actually writing it out, out of the fear that some clown will read it and say, "Hey, that sounds like a great idea - we should do this in real life."

To kick off the new year (which seriously needs to end right now) I decided to change my avatar! It's a bit strange not having my iconic Tamagotchi one (Where did I get it?) but I'm happy with the change.

I'm seeing a tweet going around on art Twitter that criticizes the silly "true artists don't use references" mindset, facetiously challenging anyone to draw a horse without looking at any ref pics. I feel like a lot of people missed the point of that tweet though, as now there's a bunch of artists going "Ooh, art challenge!" and replying with their professional-looking no-ref horse drawings because horses are one of the main things they draw anyway. Like... I'll never knock someone for having fun drawing something, but I feel like "everyone post your no-ref horse drawings to see who's the best! =D" is the opposite sentiment that OP was going for xD;

Today when I went into my favourite gamestore, I'd just been paid and to my surprise the new D&D book had just come in. I wasn't planning to buy this one but I impulse bought it SO FAST and wow yes okay Strixhaven is Extremely Magical.
(Also planning to get Monsters of the Multiverse and also Netherdeep later this year....or next year if they get delayed into infinity in NZ as often happens.)

Today a newcomer walked into my workplace, he happened to be a French language learner, and I happened to be at front desk at the time so he could switch to English. He was from India, he'd worked in computer science and movie direction, but had trouble getting his skills recognised here through the language barrier. I pointed him to the nearest community center that offers free classes for French as a second language, to our section for language learners, and the people who give French classes at the community center will be here soon for an event, so he'll have an extra opportunity to meet them. That's an aspect of the job that I really like and had missed.
