Carpe Jugulum. Justabout the only book where Granny actually plunged into religious theories (since the Discworld folks spend their entire lives wading knee-deep in small gods anyway). Not that you had too big a chance of not getting stoned there anyway, sphinxes are famously sadistic little buggers. At least it's nice and cool underground, enjoy it while it lasts? :3 ((Alright, lack of reading it is. *makes a mental note to read more Pratchett if anything like this happens again* Yes but...shinies. ;_; Does the sphinx have anything sparkly in its lair that could be stolen?)) This particular sphinx has a slight gambling problem. It sometimes steals a portion of shinies from people it petrifies, but then it goes straight to the casino and blows them all on the sots.

((... You know, the only Terry Pratchett reference I thought that question could've been referencing was Good Omens. XD But oh well.))
Move to and dig at G4 please. ^_^

Lessee. Unleashing righteous fury on the sphinx would take...a few hours, so the same as one Move. You can do it if you want, but a) you wouldn't get anything for it and b) you wouldn't be able to dig afterward.

Now I'm starting to like this sphinx. Which usually means that I'll bring it back as a recurring NPC for some future roleplay and it'll neverever leave. I hope you're all happy. As for unleashing furies, I imagine there's more petrifying eye-beams where the first one came from xD Although they did usually guard the entrance to temples filled with riches.

Sarn, Tiger: You dig at C6, finding 486 shinies. From there, you head on over to E6 and set up camp.
Zylaa: You set your shovel where you stand at H4, and discover 318 shinies!
GLQ: You dig at B2 of island Beta and pull up a respectable-but-mediocre (is that a contradiction in terms?) 343 shinies. Somewhere along the line, you find a chest. It'll either be really good or really bad, and either way you decide that it's best to wait until nighttime to open it. You do so, and--ooh, pretty lights. You found a Magical Mystery Spot! What's that voice in your head?Check your PMs. You got a good one.
Celestial: You were stoned out of your mind all of last turn. That came out wrong. You finally break free of the curse, and swear vengeance on that sphinx...but first, some digging! You get up and leave the cave, enjoying the convenience of movable limbs for the first time in 24 hours. There's only one adjacent square left to dig, so you go to F7 and utterly demolish it with your shovel. You find 360 shinies!
Draco: Due to a reality-warping cosmic oversight, you teleported straight back to I7 once you were done digging at I8! Regaining your composure after this eyebrow-furrowing accident, you once again find that object of regret, the empty chest. You take it along with you, since it's pretty and might be useful to carry your stuff. You set out and dig at J7, and gather 359 shinies! You find a tall tree. Thinking that it might provide a good view for more treasure spots, you climb it. It seems to have very large, strange-looking hanging fruit on its branches. You carefully climb out onto a limb to take a closer looOHCRAPFANGS. You're greeted by a pack of quite demonic-looking koalas, with gleaming red eyes and improbably long, pointed teeth, and cute fluffy cheeks chewing slowly on bloodstained eucalyptus shoots. HELLO HUMAN With a terrified smile, you give a wave before remembering you're holding onto a branch five stories off the ground. WE SEE YOUR DESIRE Uh. That's good? Assuming your desire isn't to be sacrificed to a pack of evil koalas. YOU WILL PROFIT You're not entirely certain what's going on, but it might not be a bad thing after all. You carefully stammer out a thank you. DON'T MENTION IT You nod slowly, not breaking eye contact, and then scamper down the tree as fast as you can without letting gravity take over. LATER BRO
Terra, Nova: You head on down to H3 in search of your long-lost Tamia. You find her in a touching reunion with Oscar-winning musical score that drives the audience to tears with its tenderness.
Tamia: You possibly dig at H3. During the middle of your digging, you are joined by Terra and Nova in the aforementioned glorious reunion. To top it all off, you find 490 shinies!
Goosh: You move to A8. Fun times.
Sarn-Tiger: 6358 shinies, square E6
Zylaa: 3561 shinies, square H4
GLQ: 3194 shinies, square B2, island Delta
Celestial: 3151 shinies, square F7
Draco: 2501 shinies, square J7
Terra, Nova, Tamia: 7482 shinies, square H3
Goosh: 2944 shinies, square A8

Also, Zylaa may or may not be digging at H4 this time, so you may or may not have anywhere to dig at all if you still want to meet up with Tamia. If she doesn't want to dig at H4, I'll have you dig there and then go on to meet Tamia. If she does, I'll just get you over to Tamia. Will that work? ...I'm definitely a dunce, yup.))

No, that's fine. ^^ Next turn, I think I'll go for the tunnel at F8 and travel to the tunnel at H5. Then if I can, I'd like to move to the portal to island Delta.
