I don't so much mind THAT they're doing it and trying to cash in on the Monster High/Bratz thing. I just hate how ugly they are. XD And it's not even about being super stick-thin, because the Bratz and MH dolls have a stylistic appeal. There's just something gawky and awkward and just plain not-well-designed about these.
Also yeah, sort of weird they've still got tails. .___. Like honestly, just go whole-human. It's as if Hasbro thought kids wouldn't be able to recognize the characters if they weren't still the same fur-color, with ears and tails and wings.

It's almost like they're trying to enter them all into Neo's Beauty Contest.
That's exactly what gets accepted sometimes xD

Yeah, that's my thought too, and the reason why I'm not impressed. To me it looks like they spent no effort on the designs, and threw Winx, Monster High and a pony into a blender and ended up with an ugly chunky mess that doesn't complement any of those styles. XD It's almost like they're trying to enter them all into Neo's Beauty Contest. That's exactly what gets accepted sometimes xD XD The funny thing is that I've seen humanized pony fan art and the designs were over 9000% better than these official ones.

Yeah the fan versions look better, even if they keep things like wings and horns. I can soooort of understand having the official ones keep their pony colors (weird though), since it can avoid giving the ponies a real nationality. (it is fun to watch what fans choose XD) But the overall look they chose just isn't that great.

Well, all the ponies' nationalities are Equestrian, obviously. XD But I understand what you were trying to say. :3
And I agree about all the fanmade human ponies, and I normally don't care for those much. They're definitely much better. And come on, even with leggings I doubt Rainbow Dash would ever really be caught dead in that skirt! XP

I see Rainbow Dash wearing pants, shorts, etc. If she wore a skirt, it would be like a tennis skirt with those shorts under them anyhow! XD
I had to think about this stuff when I created humanized versions of the characters in Soul Calibur V some time back XD
It is sort of fun to see what people do with the characters though. Out of them, Twilight Sparkle seems to be the one who jumps around the most.

Y'know come to think of it, there seems to be a common pattern amongst humanized fanartists and the way they drew each characters, for example: - Twilight Sparkle: Sweatervest, commonly depicted as a bookworm, like a stereotypical top student.
- Applejack: The hardworking farmer/cowgirl, always with her signature cowgirl hat.
- Pinkie Pie: Bubbly dressed in pink that reflects her party girl persona, commonly the kind seen in wholesome birthday parties.
- Rainbow Dash: Tomboy athletic, never seen in a skirt/dress, usually the opposite compared to Fluttershy's bust size.
- Rarity: Businesswoman of her own fashion line, wears the latest elegant trend that she tailored.
- Fluttershy: Wears a sweater, commonly depicted to have large busts, most jokes tend be aimed at her chest.

Looks like they got rid of the wings and tails, I think I prefer that overall. XD It actually looks kind of interesting, watching the trailer. Twilight adjusting to being human lol

Oh thank GOODNESS they got rid of their weirdly-placed ears and that horrid lipstick. That makes me feel way better, but it's still such an odd thing overall.

Well the lack of equine-like ears, tail and etc. (horns or wings) was an improvement but the whole skin-tone matching their Pony counterparts still isn't sitting well with me.
Its like Doug all over again!

At least it's the whole world that's like that and not just them XD

The colourful skintones don't bother me. Monster High's characters are like that, actually. Draculaura is pink, Frankie is green, Abbey is icy blue, etc. I guess I'm just used to it. XD

I seem to more-or-less forget about the model styles when I see them animated. I do agree that the models could use some improvements, but overall they're not that bad, I suppose. I don't plan on buying the dolls, but I think I'd like to see the movie, at least out of curiosity's sake. It appears to at least be decently written, so far as I can tell. (Human!Fluttershy appears to be a south-hoof/paw/term of choice. )

I honestly haven't seen anything associated with EG. I'm just going to try to ignore it until either it blows over or something forces me to take notice, like if most of the bronies I know say it's pretty good I might look into it. Until then I'm just not going to worry about it.
