A New Year, A Fresh Start 1st of January, 2011
New Year's resolutions are commonly made, and just as commonly forgotten about. The simple reason is that very few people are motivated to change something in their life, and a lot of resolutions cast high expectations on the resolver. Now, stay with me here, because we need a bit of logic.
Did you ever feel like things had gotten so bad that you needed a reset button? A ctrl+z for real life, if you will? I'm not talking about the small annoyances that happen all the time, I'm talking about something huge ... something that truly makes you long for things to change?
When people are mostly comfortable with their lives, things don't change. It's only when you begin to truly want change, truly believe that it will be better than what you have now ... that's when things will start falling into place. But maybe you're lacking the motivation, the resolve or the courage? This post is for you. New Year's this year is for you.
Humans love significance, sentimentality and meaning. e celebrate birthdays and holiday whose meaning has been so distorted that few can even know what it is anymore. But that's not the point. My point is that often all we need is something special. Perhaps, say, a day when we enter a new year?
Because, honestly, if things are really that bad, what have you got to loose? And how much more could you gain if things were better?

Thanks Jo. I think I'll be alright now, though that shouldn't stop you if you've got something you'd like to post. This isn't just my thread, fluffypeople. Walking the Mile 5th of January, 2011You know that saying, 'walk a mile in another man's shoes'? It's about understanding our fellow humans by experiencing things from their side of the fence, but I don't think a mile is enough. Try a lifetime. Have you ever stopped to wonder what factors contribute to, and culminate in all the actions you take, and the thoughts you have? First there's your genetics, which determine what you look like, but also how intelligent you'll be, how fast you'll grow, and they also have a certain influence on your personality as well. Then after genetics we've got your upbringing, the beliefs of those who raised you, the teachings they gave, the way they acted. Then there's your interactions with others, each of which is unique and contributes to your view of the world. Your education, the way people treat you, the things they say and do to and around you, the experiences you've had, the pain and the laughter, the memories that keep you, the opinions that guide thoughts, the thoughts that lead to actions and the actions that lead to reactions and interactions. The list goes on. Psychology has only scratched the surface of that wealth of experience contained within every human brain. Every single moment, every single second is adding to your experience, changing you in tiny ways that might not become apparent for years to come. And if you think of every second as an experience, than by the time you're just a one year old babe, you've already had 31,556,926 experiences. Isn't that just amazing? You won't remember them all, but they will have changed you, shaped you slowly. If you were born a hunk of marble, than the sculptor slowly chips away at you with each experience, forming you into an image of beauty. Humans are being slowly perfected with each passing second. So what should you take from this? Well firstly you can understand that you are an amazing and complicated creature. Secondly, you can also understand that every other human is just as amazing and complicated, and lastly, you can understand that you can't possibly know yourself, so how on Earth do you think you can know someone else whose life you haven't shared in every second of? You are amazing, but so is everyone else. It is a sad day indeed when you think you know someone and you stop exploring the intricacies that fill them. Delve into it, because no one is ever as simple as they seem.971

Well, in the interest of saving face if this is horribly rejected I will keep this short and to the point. I've been voicechatting on skype for some time now and have repeatedly been told that a certain giggle of mine is quite creepy, yet makes people laugh at the same time. Make of that as you will, but I've been asked to post a sample, so here it is. XD (My voice is quite a bit deeper, this is a silly-giggle laugh. I have a wide selection of laughs, since I laugh at almost anything and everything. >.>) Attachments:

Conception to Birth 6th of January, 2011
Leoness showed me this video when she was pregnant with Isabel, and it still makes us cry. The sheer wonder of a growing child, the magic that is shown so beautifully here.
Yes, there are sperm and boobs involved. Try to be mature. -_- xD

Dancing Fools
These children love to dance. Just look at the smiles, the concentration. I've no idea if some of those are even physically possible.
But gosh, doesn't that look like fun?
(Who's your favorite dancer? I rather like the girl in the green dress.)

Earliest Memories 10th of January, 2011
This one doesn't need much commentary by me. Those first fleeting memories, often without the context, the time, the place and many of the details you know were involved but can't quite put your finger on, are a glimpse into a time when the world was simple and we would worry for little and seek ice cream and various other treats.
It struck me while I was sitting at a bus stop yesterday. I thought, "I will never again remember this exact moment in anything close to full detail unless I make it special." Treasure those memories, the good and the bad, because they're part of what makes you and shapes you.971
