(C&P'd from last year's Word Wars thread:) (c&p'ed from last year's Word Wars thread) For those who don't know, a Word War is a challenge to write as many words as possible in a set amount of time. Sometimes it's a competition, but most of the time it's used for self-benefit by way of massive word counts.
Rules: 1. Set a starting time and a finishing time for your Word War. Try to only use the last two numbers in both the starting and finishing times, because people may be confused due to differing time zones. Ex: Start at :05 and end at :20.
2. Once the start time is reached, just start writing! It doesn't matter how many people are participating -- even if it's just yourself. Try not to stop for anything (especially editing) because that will waste time. Just try and write as many coherent sentences as possible.
3. Once the finish time is reached, stop writing and count up the words you wrote. This can be done a number of ways. When you've figured this number out, post it out on the boards. We all want to see how well you did!

I like this thread. =D There's nothing like a little friendly competition to get the words flowing, after all. ^_^
And what's more fun is that you can use the same principle to race against yourself: set a timer, write for that amount of time, and keep trying to beat your highest wordcount. :3
But it's more fun against a friend.
