Vignettes - Nat's NaNo

The current plan is to take ooooold stories of mine, take note of everything that's wrong with them, and find a way to make them into a novel. Not sure how successful this shall be. Actually, what would work better would be to take a few characters from each story. They can carry over minute pieces of plot. No sharp objects, flammable items, or sports equipment, though. If done correctly (which it won't be), their personalities will be refined enough to bounce off each other and create the magic that is plot.

There will be vignettes. If done correctly, they should weave together to create a lanyard of plot, perhaps just have a few episodes thrown in. (Think Paranoia Agent or Cowboy Bebop.)

So, several days will be dedicated to fixing up that messy characterization of theirs.

Elia
- self-righteous, cynical, shy, fond of writing
- bright brown eyes, short blond hair (mix between this and this), pale skin, stocky build

Corrine
- manipulative, a tease who also enjoys being teased, likes to know how other people view her, a bit prone to fits, intelligent
- long, stringy, straight brown hair; gray eyes; fair skin and rosy cheeks; purple glasses; average build

Nora
- quiet, generally kind, hard-working, somewhat close-minded
- short red bob, brown eyes, pale skin with slight freckling, wiry build

Ilan
- well-intentioned, somewhat passive-aggressive and at the same time impatient, intelligent
- curly brown hair, tan skin, green eyes, average build

Thalie
- critical of others and sometimes herself, arrogant, witty
- gray eyes, crimped blond hair, fair skin, slim build

Leslie
- hammy, attention-grabbing tendencies, jealous, unwilling to admit to faults and instead prefers to shift the blame to others, tends to ignore shades-of-gray arguments in favor of black-and-white
- hazel eyes, light brown hair often in a plait, fair skin, slightly overweight

Faye
- awkward, bitter, something of an elitist attitude, ultimately means well, smart
- long, mousy brown hair; dark brown eyes; fair skin with freckles across nose; average build

Marie
- warm, dedicated, pushy, a bit reluctant to confront issues from both the past and present
- tangled reddish-brown hair in a ponytail, fair skin and rosy cheeks, overweight

Leanne
- snarky, says ~*~that which needs to be said~*~, a mite condescending (but, at the end of the day, just wants people to improve--too bad she goes about it the wrong way/they're not open-minded to her opinions), intelligent
- brown eyes, layered orange-blond (dyed) hair often in a ponytail, pale skin, slightly overweight, green horn-rimmed glasses

- To--at the very least--reach the halfway mark. I'm not sure if I want to go all-out. =S
- To avoid making it into a big angstbucket.
- For this to be a learning experience.

Unfortunately, I'm kinda without ideas. >_< So...it's a bit of a mess so far.

XD The fact that you did in fact type "OMG I HAVE NO IDEA HALP" warms my heart.

You've got good starts of characters. If all else fails, writing little slice-of-life scenes for them will give you ideas of personality and goals. What do they want out of life, and what are they doing to get there? That sort of thing.

D: *has no idea how to help!* ... Um, but you have lots and lots of characters? Who all seem reasonably fleshed-out? Just developing their characters and seeing how they bounce off each other ought to make ideas, yes? Though you said more or less the same thing in your first paragraph. xD *is not useful*

Anyway, I am glad you are doing this! ^_^ And I hope you learn all sorts of interesting things.
