So Hunty, when you set this roleplay title as "Quest for the Snark" and said it was a reference, what were you referencing? Cuz I thought all along you were referencing A Game of Thrones, but then I ran across another mythical-creature-Snark in Lost in a Good Book. Or is it from something completely different? XD en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunting_of_the_SnarkNope, it's a Lewis Carroll reference this time 'round. Also, the Isle of Toves thing (my idea), referencing Jabberwocky.

If you want the full story: once upon a time I was reading the news and happened across a book review on the recent Estonian translation of the Hunting of the Snark (which I should read one day because translating Carroll is a nightmare), read that the book describes "with infinite humour the impossible voyage of an improbable crew to find an inconceivable creature" and thought, hey, I got an improbable crew, let's make the other two happen.
...what do you mean, I'm a hopeless geek? >>

XD *BRICK'D* I would never ever imply such a thing. I would at most ask the abovequoted question from anyone who implies such a thing, while wielding my not-really-all-that-infamous four-foot submachine crossbow. It needs to get out more anyway. ...except I think it was left under the rubble of Merpo's collapsing mansion in the last war, if memory serves me right. Freegin' canon >> 'nyway, what are we at with the story? Still waiting on anyone or would it be time to get the gang back together and carry on with what we gathered? Only asking cos I wouldn't want to post again this soon after the last post.

I'll try my best to make a post tomorrow (later today I guess, since it's the middle of the night now XD) with the ninjas docking onto the island. But I still don't really know what to post, so need to settle on what I want. Been holding off since all I can think of is, "And the ninjas docked ship." Which would be one lame and short post

Psh, we need more lame and short posts >> Our latest LotR-length epic adventures have raised the bar so high that people drop out en masse because they feel that they can't textwall enough to be considered worthy. I myself liked the fast and shortposted roleplays better.
...no, I can't myself practise what I preach, I have a textwall problem >>; I'm seeing a group every Wednesday, okay? They give me gold star stickers n everything.

I haven't thought of anything plot-advancing yet (I've been trying, really!), so I can write a short and sweet post in which I utterly fail to find information. =D And then we can carry on.
Edit-- I really, really wanted to summon a weasel to land on someone's face. That was the only motivation for this post. XD

I think it's time we embrace that oldest and noblest of guild RP traditions...the NPC ex machina.

-peeks in- man i wish i'd come back in time to be a pirate with you guys. ;-; Bah, who cares about plot holes? ...Okay, we do, and tend to spend far too long discussing them and even longer trying to cover them up. But seriously, jump right on in if you want to. We're very flexible. As long as you put forth the effort, the plot will adapt to fit you in. And any more active characters can only help us out right now.

As far as I recall, anyone who's ever joined the active ranks of our guildpiracy has done that in the middle of some story or other, because times when one story has ended and another one is just beginning happen roughly once a year. In fact, you're in luck, the plot has justabout barely moved away from a tavern and anyone who knows anything about recruiting knows that it always happens in taverns =D Just jump in, tag along and we'll notice that you've joined us somewhere in the middle of millions of skeletons and a dragon.
A propos that, guys, the plot has now shifted into millions of skeletons and a dragon so down your glasses and sober up, it'll really only get worse from here >>
...speaking of getting worse, where are the ninjas?

Despite what you all may be thinking, no, we will not have a massive battle here. We can just have a speech or so and run. She's not blocking the exit. XD I almost wrote an entire dragon-rescue scene myself but figured other people would want to pitch in.
