Because every roleplay needs one.
Al-so, considering how lots of non-pirates expressed interest in joining that RP yet it currently moves with all the speed and grace of a mutilated slug as Goosh so aptly put it, I get the feeling that some of you may need some outsourcing of ideas. I mean, if this wasn't my guild's roleplay and I needed a way to enter it, I could already think of some five or six different ways for doing it. So, anyone who'd like to join but doesn't know how?
As for the story itself, I'm actually thinking of giving it a jumpcut to Dunburrow soonish because we don't really want to spend two days sailing, two RPdays tend to take us nine months in real time.

I think I've got myself a bit of a temporal paradox here. You see, in the Mage/Steampunk RP, Blacktail (my knight character) met Ikkin for the first time, essentially. But since the Pirates RP takes place before that, either I can't use Blacktail or Ikkin can't join, unless we retcon what happened in the Magepunk RP. (Which, honestly, shouldn't be too much of a problem, since we haven't really interacted with any of the other characters in Brassport aside from each other.)
But in any case, I'm pretty sure I could just make up a new character. xD; If you guys ever end up sailing away from the mainland in order to find the Snark, I could have a foreign vessel conveniently encounter you on the high seas.

So out of curiosity, how much money do we have? Did we ever say anywhere, or can I just make something up? XD
Strife, as we have a ton of NPCs already, I'd say retcon, but that's just me. >_>

As she with the infinite memory capacity for everything guild-related, I'm fairly sure that we've never mentioned how much moolah we have. Pretty sure we still have most of what we nicked from that temple with the blarfs (Keng got some of it stolen, but not everything) and as it was mostly solid gold, it's bound to be a pretty nice amount, but we haven't done anything since then besides sailing around being diplomatic and blah so we've been using those resources to buy food and whatnot.
Long story short: you're the second mate, you're the one in charge of making the amount up xD
Strife, I agree with Zylaa on the too-many-NPCs front >>; Really, why not just use Strife? He's bound to be in hiding somewhere nearby and it might make for some interesting RP dynamics.

In that case... how long ago, canon-wise, was that roleplay? XD We've had GWII, Redemption, and GWIII since then. And we're feeding several hundred small animals as well as ourselves.

Strife is pretty much a Knight of Cerebus at this point, so bringing him into the RP might not be the best idea. ^^; I could, however, use the threat of Strife (which is probably one of my better puns xD) by having him stay underground and use a mole on the outside to carry out his bidding, hence my idea of making a new character. I did get Cyclops killed in GW3, to be fair.

What, a chance to dig into the past RPs a little to create overly nerdy in-depth fictional timelines? You're too kind =D From the post-GW1 roleplay to GW2: time not specified, but it was enough to have the blarf grow from horse-sized to ship-sized. Possibly a year, maybe two? GW2 itself - lasted three days. From GW2 to Redemption - exactly three months. From Redemption to GW3 - roughly nine months (one year between the GWs). GW3 itself - lasted two days. And now it's been three weeks, meaning that we've had the blarf and the gold for at least two to three years, maybe more. Yep, we're probably getting care packages dropped by the Spacefleet already. Strife, remember who you're dealing with xD We're pirates. We don't particularly care if you tried to destroy the world or not. We're outlaws, so we mostly care only about what happens to us, meaning that we'd have a bit of a chip on our shoulders about this whole attacking-Haggoth's-ship thing, but apart from that, you actually have less of a karma debt with us than Cyborg did (since he was part of the crew and you weren't). ...we would, of course, rat you out to the Fleet in a blink. Although I pers'nally think that it'd make the roleplay much more interesting >>

Although I pers'nally think that it'd make the roleplay much more interesting >> True. xD The pirates are certainly one for black-and-gray morality. I'm just cautious about it because it's arguably one of the things that caused GW3 to flop. We didn't even have a Valentine's Day special there. Remember that this guy almost killed Rider and bruised up a few other crew members pretty badly, and I'd imagine Hunty would be pretty hesitant about allying with folks that she knows are going to betray her at some point. And then there's Ikkin; If she's anywhere within a two mile radius of Strife, all bets are off. Though I suppose that if Strife has enough audacity to smooth-talk his way back on the pirates' neutral side, then woo, keep-your-enemies-close Villain Development? And yes, if you read Haggoth's log entries, then you know that he's very much trying to look for the people responsible for wrecking up his ship. xD

Hunty-- I thought you'd like it! =D And thanks muchly, this actually seems like a reasonable length of time for us to have used up a massive horde of solid gold.
Also, I'm pretty sure you're speaking for yourself with the whole not-caring bit. >_> I mean, if this guy destroyed the whole world, what would he do to us? Sure, it's self-centered, but that's my perfectly reasonable persona belief. XD But I would be up for Strife showing his face, that would certainly be interesting, to say the least. I mean really, an evil guy is fun to roleplay with! XD

That's precisely why I've been sticking to villains for the most part - the Guildverse needs 'em. xD; To be honest, I was pretty keen on RPing a hero this time so I could hang out and adventure with you guys instead of trying to kill/double-cross you. Although, nothing says I can't RP two characters, so I guess we'll see how it goes? ^^

Well, it's not like we'd greet him with a plate of cookies and offer him a cabin to stay in xD We just wouldn't go all insta-"KILL KILL SHOOT HIM NOW!" the second he shows up either. It'd still be possible to have him in the roleplay, is what I'm saying. Chances are we wouldn't trust him for a minute, and we'd keep him at arm's length and possibly rat him out to the Fleet for lots of money on top of it, but it'd still be an interaction, not a blind battle. In fact, the prospect of getting lots of money for ratting him out would keep us well away from shooting him on spot.
GW3 didn't flop, mind you, because we still brought it to an end. It just refused to follow the plots people tried to shoehorn into it, and roleplays are roleplays exactly because their plots are created on the fly, so it can't really be blamed for being a proper roleplay. We just got too stuck in the idea of what it should become at the beginning and failed to adapt. As a story, it still wasn't half bad.

This is true. xD; Especially if Strife happens to know something about this Snark. I don't see how he could, though.
Honestly, I'm really tempted to retcon Blacktail's involvement in the Mage RP and have him show up once you guys reach Dunburrow. The knights would have every reason in the world to keep an eye on you guys, being the terrestrial peacekeepers and all.

So it's been 3 weeks since the end of GWIII? That mean it takes place before the Mage/Steampunk RP Anyways. I've just been thinking how I want to drag the ninjas into the RP. And they won't be helping you XD And Strife, if you bring Blacktail into the story, I'll bring Dragus if you need some knightly company

... Alternatively alternatively, couldn't we just retcon this roleplay so it takes place after the Mage/Steampunk roleplay? >_>
