Yeah, I found it a little disturbing, thinking it was supposed to be bright blue body fluid of unknown origins...
Bright aqua blue tears are just a little unnatural looking, so I can't be blamed for not knowing what it was. XD Especially after the dialogue mentioned stabby-death.

I can change the color of it if it'll help. What color would tears be if they were a subtle color? Just white? Or maybe a very, very subtle blue? xD;

XD Done. I think it looks a little better now. ^^ I also made it so that the tears don't "stick" to the face during the final frame of the animation, and instead are completely on the ground. I think having the face continue to drip tears added to the antifreeze look. xD;

I didn't even see the blue coming from the face, it just seemed to flow from to chest to me, which probably added to the 'bleeding blue' impression. *nibblenibble* Hmm... I wonder what kind of effect an ice cream sandwich would have if it was in the game? Also, I noticed everyone wears clothes. If Omni walked into Terris Town, do you think it would cause a stir?

You know, I've being playing the game and its pretty fun (despite the bugs and dying twice against the second mini-boss ), but here's a suggestion: wouldn't it make alot more sense if that characters doesn't "cry" in their deaths? I understand that you're avoiding blood and gore and such but after playing a few other games, I don't think tears were necessary in replacement of blood, also, I did mistook the tears for "recoloured violence censorship". Also, I noticed everyone wears clothes. If Omni walked into Terris Town, do you think it would cause a stir? Yes it would. Nudist.

I think that what JH said about dead characters makes sense; you could just have the character fall over with X's over their eyes and not use tears or other liquids at all, and people would probably still get it.

I was watching Omni play the game under VMWare, and ugh. Soooo tempting to ditch Virtual PC and hijack Omni's computer. XD; So much less lag. But at the same time, it's probably a good idea to stick with VPC and pick up all the lag-induced bugs...
Also, thought. I don't suppose you could have an option to disable the overly fancy visual effects, specifically that spiffy little animation that happens when you get a soul gem? 'Cause as spiffy as that particular animation is, I had the overwhelming feeling that it would be sucks under VPC, or any other laggy computer for that matter. XD;

I've had a lack of confidence in drawing convincing X eyes. xD; I was talking to Ikkin about it, and she suggested that I rework the death animations so that it resembles anime-style crying - that is, heavy arcs of tears that disappear as soon as they hit the ground. Until I can master this style, though, I lightened up the tears in the latest patch and made it so that they don't stay on the face. I think it makes it look less like blue blood. In any case, this is as graphic as i'm going to get with death, so it's not too bad at all. =P I was watching Omni play the game under VMWare, and ugh. Sounds good, though I was thinking something more along the lines of an option for a shorter soul gem animation...? XD; 'Cause it looks really cool at normal speed, but with VPC making everything, like, half-speed... that animation is just gonna be a whole lot of annoying. As for the shockwave attack, I don't suppose you can make some sort of alternate animation that plays when the particle effects are turned off? *shrug*

(Do suggestions like this go in the chat thread or the main thread?) Could you add a save point somewhere in Dyre woods, preferably near Rivers' house? It is a bit big. And I just went through a bunch of it, getting the dust and everything, and shortly thereafter the game crashed on me. Also, Joseph's talk when you're about to head into woods, while it may not be very important, is still pretty long (even he admits it). Could you add the option to skip it? It also occurred to me that a fruit, which heals about 50 HP, costs more than a night's rest at the inn. Same with the eggs. ...What exactly is the logic behind that? On a more random note, I thought of a very plausible recipe in the game.

Potions in Final Fantasy games always seem to cost more than the inns to me, and the Pokémon equivalent of an inn is free, whereas potions cost monies. The logic behind this, to me, is that potions and such are usable when there is no inn handy for miles, and are thus more valuable even if they replenish less health.

Okay, so I got the soul gem now, and I guess the animation isn't quite as laggy as I was expecting. XD; So the shorter animation isn't really necessary, I guess. Still though, could be a useful option for those who don't want to sit through that animation for whatever reason.
