Anyone else having trouble with the game occasionally and randomly crashing? I have a sneaking suspicion that it's something to do with the fact I'm running it in Vista, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Yeah. It seems like everyone has that problem. We're really not sure what's causing it, but OS doesn't seem to be the cause. I run XP and I get the crashes. Strife also runs XP and he doesn't get the crashes. It may be awhile before the mystery is solved. Hm... if everyone but Strife is getting the crashes... could it have something to do with some sort of driver or something that Strife has and we don't? *random guess* Also, late, but spifftastical on the interview. :3 I am disappoint though, what about the girl who wrote the original Ikkin's Theme, hm? >/ *nah just kidding I still love you*

I highly doubt this, but for brainstorming purposes I'll throw it out there.

I really would like to know why I'm the only one who's not getting any crashes. xD; The best explanation I can come up with is that there is, indeed, some sort of data file on my computer that's preventing them.
Currently, one of my testers (listed as Fanotherpg on the list of testers) is a non-NTWFer, and he has some in-depth knowledge on the way MMF2 works, so I'm hoping that I can get some feedback from him soon about this issue. I'm hoping he'll run into it as well and offer some advice as to what's causing it, or if there's any additional files I can include to prevent it from happening to players.
Aside from that, I'm slowly getting back into the groove after spending all of last month on Super Ecksdee Panic. I've made two noteworthy changes so far:
- Increased Ikkin's running speed from 20 to 22. I think this will be enough of a boost to make most monsters' melee attacks realistically dodgeable as long as Ikkin's not attacking herself, which should hopefully make it so that players don't have to stock up on nearly as many healing items as you guys are. xD; - Slightly reduced the speed boost that Ikkin gets while using mastery Spin Attack on the ground.

Alright, I have encountered a glitch that is rather annoying for reasons that should be obvious: I've somehow become stuck in the wall and cannot move! I can jump, use sword abilities, even bomb myself, but can't get out. The worst part is, this happened AFTER I saved at that point and went out and died. This means it places me there whenever I load the game. Which in turn means no escape. I forget exactly where this is, but I was on the mountain path. I think. Also this is a REALLY great game, I have been impressed at how large and well-rounded it is already. Reading the threads about things I haven't seen yet only makes it better and more exciting to try to get there. Great work so far Strife! *Salutes* EDIT: I have had it happen again, same save point. It's the one you have to blow up the trees to get to in the first brown area of the mountains. I now have to restart the game AGAIN, and I'm not going to use that save point anymore. I would really like to get to Otanis, but keep falling for this glitch. x.x Once again, awesome game! It excels at giving an impression of hugeness, and I can't wait to see how much it really is! Edit: Also, I keep forgetting to ask, but is "Strongg Sapling" a typo or is it supposed to have two 'g's like that? And CONGRATS on Cookie! If you end up too busy for this I'll understand and won't complain, as much as I love this game already! (And that's saying something!)

So I got past that save point on the third game and went to the council and blah, blah, blah... ... ... ... and that's very cool too! Ahem, now the bug I have encountered. The Togs in area E-11 have one that is randomly (I presume) health-buffed. I have discovered that the buff does it no good. I double-checked and each time I attacked whichever one had the buff it died way too early. The top corpse in that screenshot is the one that has "about 60% Health left". And yes I am aware of my low health, I have learned to use the low-health regen to great advantage and only heal when I need to. Very efficient, albeit risky. On another note, I love the music you have composed! What program do you use? I've been looking for a fairly good free one, but the only one I found doesn't work very well on Windows. Once again, awesome game!

I know exactly what's causing that save point in the mountain region to get Ikkin caught in the wall. I have fixed it. :3 Unfortunately, the fix would require a patch, so in the meantime, just try not to use it for now. ^^;
As for health buffs not working on the togs, I have no idea why it's not registering with them, as it seems to work on other monsters. It's probably best for me to give them a different buff in that area for the time being.
With regards to the music, I compose it in MIDI format first. Programs like Noteworthy Composer and Anvil Studio are good for that. Once I have it composed in MIDI, I load it up in a program called Synthfont and then plug soundfonts into it. You can find soundfonts in all sorts of places on the internet, and some of them are better quality than others. All of it definitely takes substantial effort, but it's worth it in the end.
Aside from that, thank you very muchly for your comments and help, Poldon! =D

Thanks for letting me play such an awesome game of your creation! I'm going through the swamp area now, and I love how well you pulled off the 'new familiar weapon' thing, it actually was emotionally involving! Very fun to get! I've occasionally dreamed about making a game, but sadly it's not where my talents are. I'll stick to making what I am good at, and enjoy what awesome things other people can make that I can't. I'm also wondering how much playable game there is, as I realize I'm STILL not very far in terms of what I've seen discussed. No spoilers, if you please.

Thanks! ^_^ Game making definitely takes a lot of practice and dedication. I've been making games ever since I was 11, and about 90% of the stuff I make is either bad or never gets finished. xD; FableQuest is a serious attempt at the other 10%.
If, of course, you're really curious about making games someday, all it takes is practice and persistence. If you end up trying it out someday, you'll be bad at first, but you'll also be surprised how quickly you get better at it.
As for how much of the game is left, you're in the swamp area, right? There's not too much after that. The current version "ends" once you've completed the second Solar Temple run, which is shortly after you finish the swamp quest.

Nah, I have stuff I need to work on for my own creations besides games, fun as it might be to try. And really? Darn, I WANTZ MOAR! XD Edit: I seem to have hit the 'end', stuck on a platform throwing fireballs every which way. That was great, and I sincerely look forward to the rest of the game! No pressure though!

Poldon, are you sure you reached the end? There's more stuff to do in the dungeon after you get the Fireball skill. x3 Anyway, quick update: In the new areas, I've been making an effort to smooth out the blocky, geometric appearance of some of the high cliffs. I haven't done anything to the low ground yet, though; this is mostly so that the impassible boundaries in some areas actually look impassible. I'd like to try and go back to previous areas, especially the Otani mountain region, and smooth them out like this as well.

Oh, well then probably not. I was stuck on a platform after the awesome fox sequence and found nothing I could do though. I saw a switch that was one space too far to fireball, but nothing more to interact with. XD

Ooh, I like the graphical update you did with the cliff faces. And those new trees and shrubbery look very vibrant and lively. The little yellow flowers scattered in the grass are a nice touch too, except where they overlap the tree stump and the cliff edge because you can't see all of the flower and it just looks like a rogue pixel. But it's all looking so awesome, a pretty overworld. <3
And Poldon, I think you're stuck in the same place I got stuck. xD The fireball switch that seems way out in the black is actually not out of reach, you just need to stand closer to the edge and shoot. (as for me, I remember I just didn't see that thing at all. xD)

Ohh, those do look better. =D Although Rider and Ikkin look kind of yellowish, possibly because of the green all around them.

Poldon - What Pacmanite said, assuming of course you went back down the elevator and into that area with the floating platforms. :3 There's a little bit more to do after that. Also, thanks Pacmanite. ^_^ Ohh, those do look better. =D Although Rider and Ikkin look kind of yellowish, possibly because of the green all around them. Actually, it's because this particular area of the world takes place in the late afternoon/sunset, much like how the deeper part of the Dyre Woods takes place at night. :3

I'm still not finding anything to do, I'm on a tiny platform and can't get off at all as far as I can see. There's just nothing I /can/ do. Either I'm missing something entirely or it glitched. XD
