I'll be honest. I'm having a hard time getting motivated to get writing today. (And it's only the 2nd day!) I've been through some crud today, so I need some motivation.
And I figure I can't be the ONLY person who will need some motivation this month, so this here is the Motivation Station! Kind of like a gasoline station, only here you get pumped up with writerly energy!
Post your inspirational comments, pumping up speeches, and other motivating bits, pics, and movies here!

I'm almost caught up to today's word goal despite being behind yesterday. YAY! Um...honestly, I really like the pep talks that are sent out, especially when they're honest. ^^ Those are my motivation. ... That, and competition. I can't let everyone here beat me! (I need competition to motivate myself, I swear...) Just searching for "writing quotes", I found this one that I like. ^^ woot. ^^ I'll go fish my thread out now. Good luck and happy writing to everyone! ^^ EDIT: And more: Ah, the principle of 'Show, don't tell'. Poetry in motion. ^^ ...True. >.< Because it makes me laugh. XD For all you evil NTWFers out there, you know who you are. ^^

I just got a NaNo newsletter emailed to me from the Alberta: Elsewhere region, and I really liked two parts in particular.
I thought this might be helpful for those of you who aren't as happy with how your story is going, or how high your word count is, as you would like to be. For those of you who are starting (or restarting) late.
And this line is just generally a way of making us sound really cool, which I know motivates you guys just as much as it does me.

I'm still waiting for today's Nano-Letter... But Tamia, the line about the moon looking over your shoulder is great! I just had to copy the whole line (and exchange the snow covering the plot holes to rain filling them, as we never get any snow worth speaking of before new year), so now whenever I look up from my laptop I look straight at it The one thing that keeps me motivated is: No matter how bad the day, no matter how annoying your boss/teacher/parents/neighbours, opening my NaNo-file is like opening the door to a different world, waiting for me to discover it along the path of writing the story. Perfect escape from RL.

That's...awesome. My wallpaper is full of NaNo-related junk, and I've got to put this quote on!

Yay, well done everybody so far! Remember: It's not necessarily the word count at the end that matters most, it's the journey that you, your characters, and the worlds you've created take that really counts.
So keep on writing, and posting those exerpts. I've been enjoying reading all your respective threads!
