Okay guys, in trying to make up ANOTHER game, I decided we'd do a little more complicated of a continue-me. Of course, my fave type of continue-me is OWAAT, but here's a continue-me with longer parts... and a fun twist...
Each continue-me story we write has to center around one of our wonderful smilies. Like if we were to center around , we would think up many things that would make question marks pop out of his head.
Requirements: Each part must be a paragraph or a brief dialogue (or, a little of both). It must apply to the last part. Make sure to write your part quickly, so that we don't get two submissions for the same part.
Ready? Set... go!
The Story of
"Somewhere in some dark, cold, alley in New York, a scraggly old homeless man lays shivering. And in Africa, in a village of tears, a woman is dying of AIDS... as we speak. And there's a small child in India that is staring down without words at an empty bowl: a bowl that gets half-filled with food once a day, and sometimes not even that. And yet... we sit here like gluttons... here in the obese nation, and we ignore problems on our planet... well, I'm sick of it!" The 40-something year-old pounded his fist on the table, then picked up his mug and took a big swig of this morning's espresso. He threw down his newspaper and looked over at his daughter on the opposite side of the table. She was peacefully reading some teenage girl magazine while drinking her La Croix water. She then stood up and grabbed her little backpack from the counter, and started walking out the back door of the house. "Jen, you go off to school, so you can solve the world's problems, okay?"
She just rolled her eyes and walked out the door.
See what I mean? Maybe she can meet some of the other smilies along the way. Anywho, let's try this!
