Hecale's eyes darkened with fury. She slammed her dagger back into its sheath and walked over to the dead human, running fingers along the curse mark. It burned malevolently and she lifted her hand. That curse had been created with a brand of dark magic much more powerful than she had expected. There was only one path clear to them, now that an enemy had proven its considerable might, and she did not have time for the pleasantries of the other stunned council members.
"This is why it is foolish," she said, tone dangerous, "to tarry too long with decisions. The scribe is right. Let us choose a team now and return to prepare. I believe it goes without saying that I shall join." She narrowed her blood-red eyes and stared down the members who had previously opposed sending a team. "Many of you may not know the depths and shadows of the darkest sorcery. Demons know them well, and I am no exception. Before you raise an obstacle to our plans, hear now one who walks in dark magic: that curse was murderous, but only a taste of the possibilities. This evil must be stopped before more lives are claimed."
And Hecale needed to return to the demon's keep at full speed. Her leader would wish to hear of this unknown yet killing black magic.

'I will come. Someone must record this, if all but one is slain, that person will carry the recordings back to this valley. Nothing,' she said, with a vehemence quite out of character with the sweet, curious, and calm individual she usually was. 'Nothing should threatened this place. We have done nothing to invoke such magic.' she ran her finders over the Stones- Topaz Ankh, Sapphire Graveyard, Lapis-Lazuli Mortality and Ruby afterlife, Diamond Sun, Emerald beast footprint and others,

The blanket of air crept softly though a canopied window and gently placed the child into her large soft bed. She stirred and turned to one side glancing sleepily up at a pair of green eyes glowing softly just like hers.
"By the taste of your glee I assume everything went without error?"
The child yawned and smiled snuggling her head into the pillow. "Mmm hmm. So I guess you can start your part whenever you want big brother."
"Well, then I see no reason to hesitate," and with that the green eyes vanished and a long black ribbon slid and fluttered out the window.

Tharek sighed and shook his head, surverying the bodies around him. "I withdraw all statements against sending a team. If the evil is not stopped soon, many more people shall die."
He stood up. "This may come as a shock to all of you after my previous statements, but... I will join the group as well. It has been long since I have gone into battle, but I believe I may still be of some use. Besides, in a case like this, there should be a proper balance between boldness and caution. I believe I can contribute the latter."

Nurak surveyed the slain dwarf in shock. "Curog, my old friend..." Then, with a passion in his eyes that burned brighter than Hecale's he added, "I'm coming too."

'So we are all coming, it so seems.' Arianna stood up and paced. 'I don't like this situation of not knowing. As a seer it's my job to know, and I don't.'

"So it seems. Let us be off!!" Nurak said, hefting his hammer.
((Edit: No, I did not originally say 'axe'<_<))

((Nuuu! One-liners! D:))
The ribbon fluttered and twitched in the augmenting gale that ran through the valley. Invisible in the darkened sky the length of it reached over half a mile. Once it had arrived in the village it slid with ease through a window ledge and wove down into the chamber below. Pressed up onto the shadowy ceiling it paused momentarily. Then a small bit ripped off the end and moved out and away as fast as it had come.
When it had arrived back from where it originated it fluttered over the girl's ear leaving a small whisper. "Some are indeed coming shall I mark them?" A small nod came in response. Back in the chamber miles away four threads frayed out from the ribbon and floated away, weaving themselves carefully into the clothing of those who had joined the small party.

"I suggest that we take but an hour to prepare ourselves, to pack provisions for our journey and inform those that we are meant to represent." Hecale looked around. "Maybe some others will wish to join us after they hear that we're leaving."
Hecale wanted to return to the demon's keep and tell her leader of the meeting's decision, but to leave unexpectedly would benefit neither herself nor the others. If they chose to leave immediately, she would join them as soon as she could, but the demons needed to be notified.

Arianna nodded. 'I will inform my tribe.' She went out side and shreiked out three high notes, too high for humans, dwarves, and most species of magic-user. Her tribe flowed out from amoung bushes and trees, some leading children. 'I, scribe for this tribe, am Leaving to find the source of this trouble. Melria shall take my place and in the event of my demise the scrolls shall be given to her. Guard yourselves. Goodbye.' Arianna went back inside, holding the pack the tribe had packed, prepared for her leaving. There were a few in her tribe that could see without stones on matters such as these.

Nurak nodded. "I will return shortly, after telling this tale to the Onsraed Council." He slung his hammer over his back, and walked cautiously by candle-light to a nearby building.

Once all the marked ones had left the chamber the ribbon frayed completely into thousands of black threads. They wafted around behind the column lazily until the oak doors swung shut behind Nurak.
With speed that could've challenged a comet the threads darted out from their hiding places and wrapped skillfully over every non-armor clad portion of every being. All except one young elf collecting parchment from under the table. There was a brief struggle as everyone bound by the threads tried to free themselves and a chorus of groans and squeals through their gags.
But as soon as the elf stood back up and realized what was happening the threads constricted and cut into flesh.
There was silence. Then a rustling of parchment falling to the floor Scarred from what she saw he small elf fainted into a growing pool of blood.
Gradually the threads pulled away from the victims and wove back into the ribbon they'd come from. A few minutes later it fluttered back into the dark little bedroom and eventually took on a humanoid male form drenched in blood. "Think I overdid it?"
His sister shrugged and played with a corner of her pillow "As long as they got the message."
