Every now and then I change my persona. It isn't on a whim and always corresponds to some change in my life. This is the third persona I have ever had.
The first lasted me through childhood, and gave me my standard username - child-dragon. Essentially, I wanted to be a white dragon. There were variations on this, but the core remained the same.
The second is probably the most familiar, the fox-phoenix. I created this in college when I started to realize my own independence. The phoenix symbolized rebirth and the fox... I'm not sure. It just happened that way. The fox-phoenix had the power of the phoenix and could be killed and reincarnated the next morning. This led to the tradition of killing Kiddo. My bad.
The third and current persona is the result of an adult-onset movement disorder that can result in an extremely wide range of seizure-like movements, including grand mal seizures, extended absent seizures, partial paralysis, etc. Adjusting to this disability has made me realize that a lot of the independence I used to enjoy and take for granted - such as being able to mow the lawn, drive, go to the grocery store - is no longer possible. And due to the rarity of my disorder (1 in 5 million) it is difficult to treat or explain. It took two years to correctly diagnose, and even now my medical history is being shared with John Hopkins and is used as a teaching device for neurology students in the universities that have access to my records. (I signed off on allowing other medical institutions to have access - my doctor was very keen on getting Jon Hopkins to take a look)
Anyway. With the loss of indpendence I no longer identified with the fox-phoenix. I feel as if my body has betrayed me and I have no control so the wings decayed, my persona lost the power of a phoenix, and has been re-created. And with that explanation out of the way, on to what my persona is and what it can do.
I will be revealing more about this persona as needed. If you see a <removed> tag, it means I've deleted that info as it hasn't been revealed yet, but has been written up.
This is where the important stuff is and I'm done blathering
Forms
Kiddo now has two forms that she can take, each with their own abilities (or lack thereof). She transitions between these forms by severe disruption to her body, which allows her to reform into whichever form she is currently not. Aka, you can still carry on with the tradition of killing off Kiddo. She'll survive it.
Human - as a human, Kiddo is just a short woman with short brown hair. The only abilities she has are those she comes by naturally. She still has some of her ninja background and can use a number of weapons. Since her traditional weapon - a spear - is broken and she does not have the strength or agility she used to, she favors a crossbow and tries to stay out of harm's way. This is her preferred form, as she feels like she is not herself in her second one.
Nightshade - This creature resides in a half-world where the lines of reality aren't as clearly defined. She can see what lays beneath matter and to her eyes, the world is pale mist, fluid underneath its shell of reality. Some things are more 'real' than others and these she sees with perfect clarity. People appear as having brilliant lights burning inside them. Because of this half-existence, Kiddo is very remote and detached from her surroundings. She is very single-minded, if she is bothering to pay attention at all, and is easily confused or distracted. She also has memory problems and things that are important she may consider trivial.
Appearance
Nightshades are scrawny, catlike creatures with unnatural proportions. They look like fragile creatures from how thin their bones are, but they are extremely strong with virtually no body fat, just muscle. A Nightshade has long rabbit-like ears, dark purple fur with irregular stripes, and glowing eyes.

Abilities
Invisibility: Kiddo can remain unseen in her Nightshade form. This is only active during the daylight. At night, she is as visible as any other creature, as the nighttime is regarded in popular mythos as a time when the supernatural is real. During the day, however, Kiddo remains invisible to normal eyesight. She can still be heard or leave tracks, and cannot remain invisible if she is close to a person, approximately five feet. The person will be able to see a faint outline, especially if she moves. Interacting with something real will break the invisibility, so if she puts on a coat for instance, she won't be able to remain unseen. Altered eyesight (magic/technology/etc) can also break through the invisibility.
Claws: The nightshades claws are extremely strong and the amount of strength a nightshade possesses allows Kiddo to do things like climb walls and other athletic feats. They also provide traction when running on all fours.
Equipment
Human: Short sword and knife as standard. When preparing for a fight, Kiddo branches out and goes back to her ninja roots. She will still carry her short sword and knife, but will add to it a crossbow, kunai, shuriken, caltrops, smoke bombs, and yet more concealed knives. She also uses her old ninja outfit.
Nightshade: None.
