Actually I'd argue that we aren't sliding down that scale yet. We're building ourselves a very nice stockpile of Nightmare Fuel, but that's not cynicism. ... So I agree that TEH POWAH OF LUV would be an epic as all heck ending. <3 Rider-- Thank you for the list! So we can actually have a starting point for the canon! Also, I'd like to point out that the way I understood it, the Underdeep isn't evil. Like, it's not sentient enough to be evil. Of course that makes it even creepier since you can't exactly reason with something like that. Rikku-- ... You used "It can't get any worse"? You fool!! You doomed yourself! Edit-- And there is no such thing as too influenced by Langley's Ark! Or if there is, I'm sure there's a protocol for that. *shot* True enough, although the Power of Luv has to be handled correctly else it all explodes in our faces. ^^ Also, we need to upgrade that Nightmare Fuel to High Octane Nightmare Fuel. Because this is the Underdeep we're talking about here. ^_^

Also, fire just looks flashier and stuff. ^^ As a game designer, I should point out that any element can look flashy if you add enough special effects into the mix. I've seen breathtaking things done with thunder magic, for example. ^_^ Earth magic also looks really badass if it's drawn from a cinematic perspective. Imagine the whole battlefield shifting and shaking to the caster's will. I think the biggest benefit of fire magic, really, is that it's very easy to describe and relate to. Other elements require a little more imagination, but with fire, all you have to do is say the word "torch" or "burn" and the reader gets the idea right away.

Okay, I'll concede that. ^^ You have a point.

Aww, you can catch up, Nova. =D Just come down to the basement and throw fire around, that's what everyone else is doing, pretty much.
... Also, I think it says a lot about these things that when I saw a menacing, mysterious, anonymous post about a shadowy army from a distant realm, my first thought was, "What, again?" xD;

But I do concede it's similar. (Please to excuse the Kwoi.)

Yeah, the other shadowy army feels like it borrowed a couple of ideas. I wonder if they have similar uniforms... Shoot, dang school. XD By the time I get home I'm completely out of the loop.. yet again.. XD Don't worry Nova, it's always like that. xD You'll catch up no problem. ^^

And now for something comparatively(sp) lighthearted - especially compared to all the OMINOUSNESS and UNDERDEEPNESS. (A bit sad how Nasue's segment advanced the plot more than anything else.)
Little FYI: At the beginning of Nasue's segment I was trying to take a shot at a certain comic book writer. But it didn't quite come out that way. Ah well.

Sorry for not really acknowledging your messages, Jason - Rikku's kind of pseudo-unconscious right now. xD 'sides which, she'd probably be more occupied by the various arrows, fires, and the fact that the doorway's just been blocked off. I mean, yikes. That's pretty cold.
... Join in, Kiddo. =D Please. We'd love to have you.
