First of all, the definition of 'literate' RPers on Neopets seem to be using is:
3. characterized by skill, lucidity, polish, or the like
It is NOT skillful writing when you abuse the thesaurus, post in passive voice, and introduce yourself for ten paragraphs.
Trust me, I have been a writer and a roleplayer for many years - and this is not the way to do either.
While I find the boards there a near constant source of amusement - there's not a thing I'd remotely consider playing in.
For that matter... roleplay should have a PLOT.
And how about a theme that isn't
gifted something furry something highschool omg vampires grrr argh
A little originality can go a long way!
That being said, I've been checking out the RPs here at the NTWF - and thank you all for not sucking! Because man, I was begining to lose hope for humanity after reading the roleplaying forum on Neopets for too long...

Er... Is this actually an RP, or just like, some sort of discussion topic?

I agree, L! All these people who whine about being "literate" and blah, blah, blah tick me off! Especially when they talk down to people, like they're all special. It's rather irritating, and just plain rude! >_< Plus, I find it hard to join a roleplay when, by the time I'm done reading everyone's intros and refresh, about three more pages have been added! But mostly it's the rude academic snobs who annoy me.... thoroughly. dadgumemos!

Although this isn't a role-play and more likely belongs in Discussions & Debates or Off-Topic, I do agree with your statements. The NTWf here is full of creative minds and I don't think we'll have a problem with non-specific role-playing and n00bish chat speak..."of the like". We do appreciate you stating these topics/subjects though and reminding us to keep everything all good here at the Neopian Times Writers Forum.
Thank you.

Everyone, shh... XD L's threads are sacred. She's the creator of this forum and she can post them where she pleases. I'm too scared to dare to move them (as I'm sure most of us mods are due to the high regard we hold her in).
