The first thing which she had got in response to her outburst was actually a pebble tossed at her head. So, by the time that Omni had approached, the canine was rubbing the spot where the pebble had struck.

Kwoiffei's ears came to stand straight up once more when the Zafara was speaking, and she listened. Still grouchy, mind you, but at least some of her frustrations were being kicked away.

With a sigh, she spoke. "I'll admit: I'm frustrated." And now she took a deep breath.

"That alarm didn't go off for no reason. You might think of me as crazy, but... I saw a red cloud while I was fleeing." She wasn't telling the whole story, but it wasn't exactly lying. It was just leaving out some details, that was all.

[Omni]

((I'm going to temporarily take control of Nimras, just to get the plot going again))

Nimras, who had been temporarily stunned by the sound blast, spoke up. "Don't just sit there, there might not be time! I'll stay here with Rider to make sure she's okay, Kat and Fenrix will probably want to stay here to heal her. The rest of you should go and check out that alarm!"

Omni paused for a moment. "You know, she's right. Come on! Let's go guys!" And she ran off across the fields, as fast as her legs would carry her.

She had only ran a few meters when she stopped in her tracks, turned, and ran back to ask: "Does anyone know where the alarm is?"

[Kat]

"Fenrix, thank you very much," said Kat gratefully, going through the supply like a knife through butter, sorting out whatever she needed and what would probably do more harm than good to Rider. "I have a feeling I'll need a lot of these. I'll repay you in shinies when we're all safe."

She narrowed her brown eyes as she surveyed her surroundings. "Two of you better carry Rider somewhere safe, where we won't get upset by more crowds. The rest of you have to follow them and find out what they're up to. I'll manage on my own. I'll be okay, I promise."

Fenrix grinned. She loooved shinies. "Thank you! Its a good thing I grow most of those. I can just make more after you're done." She did a once over of Rider, and let out her wings. "I think I might be able to carry her." Her bones were hallow, but they were strong. "Just tell me where I'm going."

[Omni]

After getting some directions from Nimras (which Omni memorised quicker than she would have under normal circumstances [whatever those would be]) Omni headed off in the direction of the alarm, encouraging any present, able and willing forumers to join her, going slower than possible to give the others some time to join her.

"No offence intended, but it would be better if somebody joined me, because I doubt I'll be able to fight off whatever-might-have-done-this alone."

[PFA]

PFA came up to Omni. "I don't know what I could do, but I guess I'll come along anyway..."

[Ebil]

Ebil brightened. This sounded singularly un-boring an activity. She scrambled after them calling, "Can I come?", and hoping the response would not be "Who are YOU?!"

[Omni]

Omni looked at the hamster-girl who was doing her best to catch up. "Yeah, you can come, any help is appreciated."

[Kat]

Kat looked around for a suitable place, but could find one. Speaking one powerful word, she pointed at a flat expanse of ground, and a cave slowly shaped itself at the location she had specified. Gripping her head as her world spun, she said to Fenrix, "There. That's where we should go."

The mage next made a mental note not to ever do that again after using healing magic.

The Weewoo rose and shook herself off. Nimras frowned and opened the letter. She was almost glad the alarm went off. It meant the PM wouldn't wind up in the wrong hands.

"More theories, more theories. Nothing solid, nothing testable. Huh, they want to use Meepits as guinea pigs, send them out into the city with theoretical medicine. Like Rider will let that happen. It will be a sad, sad day when we strong forumers use our familiars as lab rats..."

She put a paw to Rider's hand. "Cold..."[/glow]

[Omni]

Omniscia continued running, now speeding up for sake of time. Only two forimers had joined her so far. Better than nothing, she thought. Hopefully three will be enough to last for awhile.

[Kat]

"Lucky? It would've been luckier if we escaped the stampedes...no, wait, we did." Kat was getting even more irritable every minute, which was a sign that she was getting dangerously close to involuntarily tapping her life-force for magic. She knelt down and began opening packets and jars of herbs and other strange substances.

"Cauldron. Vial. Anything to put these things in. Quick," she said, her voice sounding distant. Any minute now she would cave in and faint, and not be awaken for an entire day. Kat wasn't about to let that happen, not with the NTWF in this state.

[Omni]

"Alright, we're almost there!"

Omni, PFA, and Ebil were on the block the alarm was supposed to be on. Expecting to find a PA, or a radio, or something that had been broken, Omni was surprised to find...

Rubble. Lots and lots of rubble, several of the buildings had been damaged, some were almost destroyed intirely. There was nothing that resembled an alarm in sight.

"Well, I guess we know what happened to the alarm, but what did this?"

No sooner had Omni finished asking the question than a loud sound started getting closer to the group. A ten foot tall, two-headed, half-brained, stone troll holding a large club with a spike in it emerged from behind some of the buildings.

[Kat]

Instead of waiting for anyone to pass the small cauldron, Kat pulled it towards herself a little impatiently. She started pouring a few potions, adding dashes of several herbs and spices and other random things, including a couple of Weewoo feathers. As the mixture began emitting thick white smoke, a Devilpuss swooped down out of nowhere and fanned the smoke away with its wings.

"That will do," she rasped, peering down into the shocking pink liquid bubbling in the cauldron. With a swish of her staff, she sent a few purple sparkles shimmering into the concoction, turning the mixture blood-red.

"Now...if someone would be so kind as to dump all of it into Rider's face."

[PFA]

PFA's eyes widened when she saw the big troll. "Oh, GREAT."
