Okay, I tried this once, and it was pretty successful (More than the other Rolplay I tried to write), the only reason it stopped was because for some reason I don't get online very easily. Anyways, important stuff from the first time is below:
Here's an interesting idea. Set in an alternate present or near-past that split off of our history timeline about World War I. The War (there's only one in this timeline) devastated humanity, but with its end started the Age of Flight. The motorized airplane became the favorite personal transport, replacing the automobile for all of history, although the legal flying age in most countries is about 20.
The time is now several decades into the Age of Flight, a time period known as the "Dawn of the Oversky", as only recently has flight above clouds been achieved. There are few biplanes (although some pilots do like the look), and most planes, except for being souped-up a good deal, mostly look like World War II era planes. There are many varieties of wing (slang for plane), and it is said that scientists are on the verge of making a flying combustible engine (what you and I may call a "jet”).
(Just a note: Some planes have double or twin propellers. The difference is double are right in front of each other, while twin is side-by-side. The same applies to triple and triplet propellers.)
The most popular places are airports and skyports (flying airports, some of which move, though most don't for easy locating), which also double as malls, apartments, cinemas, and giant "food court"-like restaurants. About 10 years ago color film was invented, and now most films are shot in Technicolor quality, most of which have airplanes heavily integrated into the plot.
Major Airports:
New York
Paris
London
Dallas (USA)
Moscow
Sidney
Los Angeles (USA)
Torquay (England)
Major Skyports:
New Chicago (USA)
El Dorado (Mexico)
Flugzeug Schloss (Germany)
Port Hulen (England)
Sky City (Australia)
Mobile Land (Currently over France, drifting towards England)
If there's something not up there that you aren't sure about, refer to the years not too long after World War II, it should be similar other than what's up there.
The crisis: Some countries are strongly discouraging Oversky flight. Also, there a notably more thunderstorms these days. Planes flying in the Oversky randomly disappear, without going anywhere near a skyport. Several days ago a plane crashed into the pacific ocean, but there were no flight records of that plane anywhere. Some pilots are getting very suspicious, and nervous.

(Speck)
Name: Jessie Fredericks
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Radio Alias: Parakeet
Appearance: Short dark hair, brown eyes, slightly tanned skin, dark blue jeans, black suspenders, white shirt (with a black dove on it), fingerless gloves, yellow goggles (usually worn on top of her head).
Other: Since Jessie is not yet old enough to legally fly a plane, she has been working as a mechanic in the skyport where she grew up. She works the business with her two older brothers, her younger sister, and her father. Jessie dreams of a day when she will get to see the Oversky, no matter how many times she's heard of planes disapperaing.
When we last left our heroes:
With a soft skid, the Tiger Shark landed on the skyport Mobile Land. Zach jumped out, dusted off his jacket, and walked over to the check-in desk. As the clerk stamped his passport he signed the roster. He took his passport back, and walked into the city. He hoped he could find somebody here that could help him. Zach walked into a restaurant and took a seat.
Jessie walked into one of her favorite restaurants, wiping some grease off of her bare hands. She smiled, waving to a few of the waitresses as she took a seat next to Zach. One of the waitresses made her way over to Jessie and started conversing with her. The talked about her current project: installing Oversky drives and motors into one of her clients planes.
"Hmm..." Zach said to himself as he absently took the photographs out and started looking at them again. There was definitely something odd going on here... or rather, going on there. Six months of clouds over Japan? And no rain?
Jessie glanced at the photos through the corner of her eye. Any new news from the ground always interested her, especially if it wasn't being broadcast on the international news channels or radio waves. She looked ahead as she addressed Zach, "Japan's been having soem weird weather lately, huh?"
"Hmm?" The question had surprised Zach, "Er, yes... I've contacted weather officials and government agents from England and America to Japan and Russia. They all say it's nothing, except for one Japanese scientist I talked to...then he disappeared.... " He put the pictures away as his food came.
"Sorry, didn't mean to bother you."
"Oh, no... You weren't bothering me at all. I was just talking to one of my brother's about it last night, since we've been hearing some rumors about it," Jessie sipped her water; she had not ordered any food, "I say it has something to do with the Oversky, but he won't listen,"
"Hmm....Interesting idea."
Jessie shrugged, setting her water down. "Well, I've got to get back to work. Come see me over at the hanger if you want to talk more. Or if your wing needs damage conrol or the like, since it seems like you're from outside 'port."
She gets up, heading toward the door.
