"Diae! No!!," Tarken struck Diae with his whip. "Stop, no, Diae, you can't do this."
"Elodie, calm yourself," Rael rushed to her side. "Your power...it's too strong for you. Don't do anything but stay behind me." Rael sat on the ground, mediating, trying to soothe Elodie.

By now, Elodie had grown a little annoyed. "You don't know anything about this-- anything about this burden," she said icily. Ignoring her aching head, she walked towards Voronwe's discarded body. Silently she whispered a spell and her hands glowed a little as she healed the elf as best she could.

Rael was angry at the comment Elodie made, he had tried helping her. "Your burdon? You think you special because you're so powerful? Well I guess you life sucks cause you have this 'burdon.' Now one cares anymore, maybe Diae is right, maybe you should be dead because everything is wrong with you. And get off Voronwe, Gloria did a perfect job healing which Gloria, I must apologize to you about the herbs, we need to talk about healing strategies we both have, the two best healers. As for you, you elf-wench!" Rael walked over to Elodie, eyes glowing white, smacked her acroos the face with the end of his staff.
"This I like," Tarken decided. He let go of Diae and said, "Finish the elf off!" He walked to Elodie and whipped his fire whip across her back!

Diae snarled and lunged for Calanon's throat "Its your fault nothing nothing turned out the way it was supposed to!" But before she could strike Tarken's whip struck her side and forearm leaving a deep burned gash that caused the elfing to shriek and stumble back. As she scrambled back to her feet the sleeve that had been struck slid off from where it had been singed revealing the thick white scars along her forearm.

Sammi winced as Rael smacked Elodie with his staff. "Please, stop fighting!!"

Elodie lowered her head. Silently, she walked away from the group. She headed off into the forest by herself, and as soon as she got far enough she let a few tears roll down her cheeks.
Calanon waited until Elodie left, then turned and glared at Rael. He ran over to him and grapped him by his shirt.
"You're crossing the line," he said angrily. "You can't possibly know all the things Elodie's been through because of this power that you claim to know so much about! You have no idea what a burden it is on her!"

"Get off me!" Rael's eyes burned white. He blasted Calanon back into a tree with is powers. Tarken was amazed by Rael's power.

Calanon hit the tree, but stood straight back up, unfazed. He pulled out his bow and an arrow and aimed it at the wizard.
"Do not make me shoot at you," he said, glaring at Rael.

Elodie walked semi-calmly through the forest, unaware of the battle she had left behind. After she walked for a bit longer, she came across a small pond. She smiled softly through the few tears that were still flowing, and kneeled next to the pond. She splashed some water on her face and immediately felt a bit better.
'Now what do I do...? Give up the mission? Wander around for another few hundred years?' she thought solemnly while idly playing with the necklace that hung around her neck.
((Oh yeah, is it me, or does everyone want Elodie gone now?))

Silently Diae slipped from the fray, but not without shooting a loathing glare at Tarken and Calanon first. Without even addressing Elodie the elfling followed after her and after a bit of hesitation stood beside her and stared down onto the pond's surface. Her face was expressionless as she realized that a long bloody, burnt line now ran from her forearm, side, shoulder and her cheek when they were alligned properly.
"They don't care about us," Diae muttered kneeling down and grazing the surface with her fingertips. "As if they ever did...." She made a small chuckle, then another. Thrusting her unscathed fist down into the water she let out a hyterical cackle with her wide frenzied eyes still glued to the rippling surface .

Chapter III: Denied Entrance
Koren peered off into the distance, and picked up his pace. "Elodie! Diae! Where did those two go? We have come to Arnor!" Soon, the group found itself looking at a foreboding castle. On either side of the castle, an enourmous wall stretched on forever. Nothing about its appearance was amiss, rather the feelings that stirred in the hearts of the group. All arguments were forgotten as the companions approached the silent citadel. No guard could be seen, and no sign of life was visible. Koren stared at the massive gate for a while, then led the group into a small cave in the castle's wall. It was just large enough for them all to fit. Koren sat down and said, "This will be our first encounter with Arnor. Since there seems to be little welcome awaiting us, we will have to penetrate the castle, one way or another. From the layout, I'd say that this is merely an outpost, although the size and splendor are more like to a King's chambers. This new people appears to be well-stocked, and equipped with the most talented builders. Now, we need a plan. Any suggestions?"
The group thought about it for a while. After a couple of minutes, Voronwe opened his eyes and sat up. "What happened? Where am I? I feel drained of energy. I cannot move. ((nobody heal Voronwe, please)) Why can't I move? I have been having the most troubling dreams of a great castle, the doorway to Arnor."
Koren nodded. "Your dreams speak truly. We are come to this castle, and require a way through. I believe we can all feel evil emanating from this place, and whatever lies inside, open combat is not an option. You, Voronwe, are a scout, are you not? Perhaps you could lead us through," the Ranger speculated.
The incapacitated elf shook his head. "Alas, I am too weak to walk, and would be too much of a burden inside. However, I am not entirely useless. I can get you through there, with the help of the magicians." He looked at Rael, Tarken, and Diae. "You three can communicate telepathetically, correct?"

((...okay... that was a bit abrupt.  ;; ...whatever...)) Sammi looked at Koren confusedly. "Huh? I'm confused..." Gloria sighed. "We need to find a way in, Sammi..." Sammi blinked. "Okay... so what are we doing?" Willie looked toward Rael and Tarken, then at Sammi. "I don't know if we're doing anything, yet..." ((so... are Elodie and Diae here, or not? ;  ) |
