Dragus aims the staff at the burning pack.
"Ice surge."
A blast of ice shoots and freezes the pack. He than watches Cheshil running to the sword, and starts to run towrds him, with staff ready to trip.

"Ice Surge?"
Cheshil smiled.
"I'll counter that with... Wait."
Cheshil slapped his forehead with his hand.
"Dragus? And let me guess, I just put Starla on ice. Juuust great."

Dragus trips Cheshil, and whacks him in the head.
The bird looks at the three humans, and watches.
"Took ya long enough."

"Dra... Dra... Che..." Starla was too cold to make out the words. She crouched into a sitting position, hoping to get warm. ((I learned hypothermia in school recently. ))

"This would've been easier if Suigi had come. I was sure I was going to recognize him..."
Cheshil muttered a few more words and his cloak returned to a jacket.
"After these three years... The siege, the quest for the Cactus, the Keeper... I'd almost forgotten your faces..."

Dragus aims his staff at a bush next to Starla.
"Fire Surge."
Fire catches the bush on fire.

A few seconds after sitting close to the fire, she began to feel feelings in her limbs again and she wasn't as cold as before. She still had a strange feeling as if there was a nearby ghost. Starla could barely mutter her thanks as she looks up at the now illuminated faces.
"I- I haven't seen you guys in a long time..."
She looks over at Cheshil.
"You've changed a lot, Cheshil."

"Yeah, its been awhile since I last saw you guys. Well there was this one time I saw you... It was about a month after we split up, but you two were both sleeping.... Stupid cheap crystal ball."
He listens to his surroundings, only hearing the crackle of the fire.
"Hmm, sounds like my new friend caught up to me."

Cheshil smiled a little.
"It's a long story..."
He shrugged a little, "Life story actually. I'll write a book about it one day, I think. In the future they call them autobiographies."
Picking up his pack, Cheshil walked over to Starla and Dragus.
"Please tell me you guys have had better luck than I have. All I've managed to do is find an ancient cook book and 1001 ways to kill Shadows. Actually, that one was from the future. Dragus wrote it. Or, at least, you will."

"New friend?" Starla asked. "What do you mean?"
To answer Cheshil's question, Starla took out her blue rock. "I've not had as much luck either. All I've found is this blue rock with random nonsense scribbled in a runic language. It was as if they were trying to make it look like a relic just for show."

Dragus looks at him.
"Great, he has a copy of something I only have the first three pages of..... Note to self, say something about throwing the small guy in as bait... Even if he's not as small now."
"I found a few things."
A low growl is heard in the air, and the bird looks sharply towrds a empty spot. A nearly pitch black paw can be seen, but the rest is still hidden.

Cheshil held back his urge to look at the blue item Starla had.
"Don't look at the relic. Don't. Bigger things to deal with right now."
Cheshil looked at Dragus and hoped he would explain.

Dragus glances at the paw, and a nearly pitch black wolf slowly takes shape.
"Well for starters, I found a shadow shrine to the east. Apparently there are a number of them hidden throughout the world. They seal creatures within them."

Starla, still alert, noticed the black wolf step into the ring. Her eyes went wide with fear and, even though there was an apparant heat source nearby, her warmth was nonexistant. She had apparantly gotten very jumpy over the past three years. She was wary.
"W-Why would they seal them up?"

"Seriously, who got the idea to build so many temples?"
