I pick up a Battleaxe and gives a practise swing.
"Hmm, not bad, I'll take this one. Anything else you recommend? How about some shields?"

I pick up a Battleaxe and gives a practise swing. "Hmm, not bad, I'll take this one. Anything else you recommend? How about some shields?" [1x]Buckler - 15 gp - +1 Defense [2x]Light Wooden Shield - 3 gp - +1 Defense [4x]Light Steel Shield - 9 gp - +1 Defense [3x]Heavy Wooden Shield - 7 gp - +2 Defense [4x]Heavy Steel Shield - 20 gp - +2 Defense [1x]Spiked Heavy Steel Shield - 30 gp - +2 Defense *Steel shields weigh more and are more difficult to destroy, the bigger the shield, the greater the penalty applied to swimming with them, sneaking with them etc... it's usually not too noticable however, especially with a light shield. "You want some armor too?" He inquires. A dwarf in the back smiles and waves to Thaine. " 'Ey, it's always good ta see another dwarf 'ere. Ye know, ever since the crime in 'ere 'as gone up... we've been selling daggers like crazy, ye gettin it fer protection, or do ya know how ta' use one?"

I pick up a Light Steel Shield. "This looks good. Yes, I'd like to take a look at your armor too." Heavy Armor: You can not afford, nor are proficient with heavy armor. Medium Armor: Chainmail - 150 gp +5 Defense, Max Dex +2, AC Penalty -5 Scalemail - 50 gp +4 Defense, Max Dex +3, AC Penalty -4 Light Armor: Chain shirt - 100 gp +4 Defense, Max Dex +4, AC penalty -2 Studded Leather - 25 gp +3 Defense, Max Dex +5, AC Penalty -1 Leather - 10 gp +2 Defense, Max Dex +6, AC Penalty -0 Padded- 5 gp +1 Defense, Max Dex +8, AC Penalty -0 Light Armors give no penalties Medium Armors give a slight deduction to speed, you have fast movement to counteract that. Defense is your bonus to Armor Class Max Dex means the armor inhibits your dexterity... however since the only ones you can afford/use aren't heavy enough to inhibit a Dex of 14, you're ok Gav. AC Penalty is the penalty given to skills that armor might hinder like swimming, hide, move silently, climb etc...

I pick up some Studded Leather.
"This will do, thank you." I pick out some gold coins and drop them on the counter. "42 gold. There, that should be enough for everything."

((That would be Rhurik. Thaine's the elf XD))
I look warily at the dwarf but speak politely to him. "Nice to see ye too."
I turn to Shump quickly and whisper. "Look, once I'm done with this little business we're getting outta here."
I turn to the half-elf shopkeeper. "What's this smokepowder ye speak of? Can I see some samples? Perhaps me friend would like some too."

Here, have a free sample." *Recieved Smokepowder Grenade* Smoke Bomb - 50 gp Smoke Grenade - 50 gp And weapons cost a lot "The druids don' like 'em though. They've been verreh angered." Actions: ALL

I wait for Shump to shop and wonder what ever happened to that elf, Thaine?((OOC: Yes, much more advanced than normal D&D campaigns)) Shump is done shopping. The men assist Shump into his armor, which takes less than a minute. The streets outside are still crowded. Men shout "loaf of bread! 2 for three coppers!" "Thirty coppers! Bag of coal!" "Fresh cooked chicken leg! twen'y six coppers" "Used tunics! As low as a silver piece!" etc...

((XD)) A Knife Vest is a vest with hidden storage compartments that give you a bonus to hide up to ten daggers, it is difficult to find the daggers and you can store thieve's tools in there as well.
