"Hmmmm," Aureyen said, slipping a fin beneath the water. "Let's see if I have some gold..." A smug smile creased his lips. "Oh yeah, here it is!"
He thrust his fin, which was now balled into a fist, directly at the face of the pirating Lupe.

Heart paddled even closer, a bit eager. He always enjoyed gambles, whether it was life taking or gold taking.
"Alright, fish. Here's how we go. If I win, ye give me your gold and leave us alone. We lose, we give you our gold and you get to take us down to Maraqua and send us to de cellars. We'll decide on a dice roll," He searched his pocket hastily for his dice and found the thing in this slimy pocket of his jacket. "We have a deal?"
{I'll go find my dice so that way we have a true roll instead of arguing over who wins.}

Kohla ducked the punch. "Rude, aren't you? You're worse than us pirates."

((I've decided to post as I eat dinner.))
"Maraquan cellars? What's this rubbish? There's nothing left of maraqua but... well, rubbish. And who's this Scarblade fellow? I thought it was a Captain Dread who commanded the Revenge?" asked the darigan lupe, still flaping in the sky. "Would someone mind telling me what the bloody blisters is going on right now?"

Kohla sighed. "Word has come that Maraqua is being rebuilt," he said. "Also, Captain Scarblade takes Dread's place in commanding the Revenge."

"When did all this happen? How come the news hasn't said anything about it?" the winged, purple lupe wasn't sure what to be feeling right now other than confused. Should he be happy that some maraquans had survived the whirlpool, or should he be upset that the Revenge was trying to destroy it again? Maybe both? He tried this, but it didn't quite work.
"So I take you two are pirates then?" he asked, indicating the blue lupe and mutant scorchio. "What's the point in destroying the city anyway?"

"Worse than a pirate? Worse than you?" Aureyen howled, eyes brimming with a dazzling fire. "You think I'm worse than you? That I'm worse than a person merciless and heartless enough to destroy a city filled with innocent people? That I'm worse than a person who can sleep soundly at night knowing they've killed hundreds of poor, defenseless souls? That I'm worse than a person who has killed children, but fled like cowards and not even heard their cries for help? That I'm worse than a complete and total scoundrel, the dregs of society, the most immoral of the heartless?"
The mutant Jetsam roared, displaying his jawful of fangs once again.

"You think I could live with that?" Kohla said. "You're wrong. I assure you, if I was sent to kill innocent Neopets, I would have it on my conscience. I thought that with a new captain, the Revenge wouldn't invade New Maraqua. But I was wrong, and it's a little hard to get out of Scarblades crew. Besides, I just supply the items needed for the battle. I doubt I'll be sent down to do the fighting." So, there it was. He finally got it off his chest what he really felt about Scarblade's crew. He doubted Aureyen would believe it for a second, but there was still a sense of relief when he got it off his chest. He had little to live for now anyway.

Aureyen was silent for a moment, still recovering from his own outburst and trying to understand Kohla's. He stared up, both of his yellow eyes delving into those of the pirate's, trying to discern truth from his words. The Lupe did not appear to be lying; this confused the mutant Jetsam, as it was not in any normal pirate's code to be honest, especially around an enemy.
What if... he was telling the truth?
"... What's your name?" Aureyen asked warily, eyeing the pirate suspiciously, unable to believe himself that he was interacting with a pirate.

"Finally some sensible talk." muttered the darigan lupe, still flapping, rather unoticed, he suddenly realized, above the unlikely group.

"Kohla," he said calmly, keeping eye contact.

Heart seemed a little shocked with Kohla's comment. The words spinning out of his mouth made him puzzled and a little...betrayed. All Heart wanted was Maraqua's treasure, so instead of fighting, most of the time he'd pickpocket or steal. But this was too much for him. He was completely stunned. He had assumed the blue lupe was loyal. Even Heart was a bit, even though he never fought with the pirates...most of the time.
Heart felt his lung caught in his throat and he just stood there, speechless as he listened carefully to the conversation. It seemed everytime he wanted to say something, he feared it would come out wrong, or it was too wrong.
That description the jetsam had gave him was more than awful. Heart wanted to join the Maraquarians (sp?). Sure, he could stay with the Pirates and keep pickpocketing and hunting treasure and gold, but he couldn't stand by and let this hurt come to Maraqua. But then he couldn't just betray Captain Scarblade. He wanted to stick with the pirates too. He just watched, a battle fighting inside him.

((I’m back!))
Terse Heart woke on the bottom of the shop floor that she just managed to swim into before she passed out. Quickly she looked a round but saw no one at the time that could help her. Taking a bite of an apple and slowly gathering her strength and her things that got scattered on the floor she thought to herself, I hope that I’ll find help soon. She took a glimpse outside and saw something shiny. It looked like a shell. So she went to take a look.

Suddenly everything had become very silent and uncomfortably awkward. The lupe didn't know what to say.
"Err.." well, that's a start, "uhh..." something's comming, it'll just be a few more seconds, "uhh..." any time now, "so, errm.. well, uhh.. hmm. Well, err, he's Kohla, and I'm Lunelupe, what about you two?"
Oh yea, that was intelligent. thought lunelupe, positive that he had only made things more awkward.

Heart noticed Lunelupe's anxiety, but when he asked their names, he burst out laughing.
