"Nothing that I know of," Holly said readily. Artemis was taking stock of his surroundings quietly. "Very nice," he said finally. "I admit, your home does quite match my own in... impressiveness." Butler snorted; this place was far grander than Fowl Manor, but Artemis's arrogance would never let him admit it.
Meanwhile, Opal was fuming; she had not been included in the unfamiliar spell, as Kyp didn't know she was present. But then, it had been presumptious of her to assume that she could follow them, and Opal hated getting ahead of herself. She decided to wait it out, in the hopes that either Voldemort or Kyp and her companions would return.

Voldemort did return, as Opal hoped. He stormed down the street of London with his new captive Dementor, when he saw that the group was now gone. He cursed to himself.

"Well," Kyp began awkwardly, "the orb is pretty much the source of all magic. This place-" she gestured at the chamber, "is the center of magic. Anyone that comes here can use magic as their own if they have strong enough willpower." A plush armchair appeared behind her and she sank into it. "I'm going to use the magic flow to target the source of the evil."

Harry was astonished. "So what you're saying is," he said, "every time I've ever casted a spell at Hogwarts or anywhere else... The magic came from here?"

"Yep. It's not like you needing magic and it coming directly from here... sort of like... magic is a force that flows into your world from here and then you can use it if you have the right ability."

"Wow," said Harry. "Maybe I should keep that in mind when I'm casting spells."

"Cool," said Klaus. He reached out a hand to feel the orb, but Violet pulled him back.
She shook her head. "Don't. If this thing is responsible for Harry's magic, perhaps it is something we should not meddle with. We are not wizards." Violet then turned back to Kyp and Harry. "So is there anything we have to do with this huge orb?"

Holly peered at the orb curiously. "Wow," she said. "Foaly would have a field day if he saw this. He'd love being able to study magic as some tangible object."
"Excellent," Opal hissed. If a mesmer wouldn't work, she would try this the old-fashioned way. She sighed, wishing she at least had a couple good minions at her command... but that, of course, was impossible. She shielded and hovered behind Voldemort, raising her Neutrino, and fired a blast at full power. The Neutrino fairy guns were not designed to kill, but to stun.

(Are Voldemort and Opal in the same room as the group or something? I'm a little confused.)

(Voldemort and Opal are back in London...)
Voldemort sensed something was wrong, and by instinct dived to the ground just as the spell went over his head. "Kill whoever fired that blast!" Voldemort hissed to his new Dementor. The Dementor stood in front of Voldemort, shielding him, looking for the unseen enemy.

Even Opal recoiled in horror at the sight of the dementor. Quickly she fired two more shots from her Neutrino at the creature, stepping back.

(Please correct my HP errors here.) The Dementor was unaffected by the blasts. Around it, things turned to ice and there was a truly chilling air around it. It began to attempt to suck out the happiness in Opal.

((That's probably what I'd do too, I didn't expect it to work. Just Opal's reflex.)) Opal froze, feeling the chilling power of the dementor affecting her. She didn't know what it was, but she knew it could be nothing good. A lesser pixie would have been petrified by fear, but Opal knew when it was time to retreat and regroup. She stumbled backwards, still shielded, and tried to duck behind a nearby building. Somehow her shielding was useless against the creature... she didn't know that dementors were blind and sensed people only by their emotions.

The Dementor floated toward Opal. If felt fear heavy in the air. Good. The Dementor followed the emotion.

Violet squinted, hoping to get another good look at the orb. "So...what do we do now?" she asked, surveying her comrades.
