Well...I'm new, but I figured I'll start an RPG anyway. Sorry if I do it wrong.
It takes place in an Ancient American village called Mihondon. (meaning Moon) Other tribes seem to avoid it, as if it’s too unique. That’s because they are very different; they have different traditions and ways of life. They use the Osage language (yes, that is a real Indian language, not a crap one that I made up ), even though they are far away from those people. They are the only ones which posses the power to take over the spirit of an animal, which they do in an annual ceremony when they are fourteen. Nobody knows why. That is just the way it has always been, and the tradition has been passed on since the earliest of times. When an animal spirit chooses a tribe member, they can morph into this animal whenever they please. But that is only if an animal spirit chooses them. It must match with their identity, so animal spirits in the skies watch over them and feel inside them all the time so that they can discover who the young tribe members really are and enter into the one who is like that animal.
The tribe is situated on a cliff top, at the edge of a wild and treacherous forest. About forty people live there. The village consists of several huts out of animal skin, just like other tribes, and in the biggest hut Berede- the tribe leader- holds meetings now and then when he feels the need. A little beyond the village is the waterfall, and below that the river where they fish. (Only tribe members above fourteen, who have been united with an animal, are able to fish, because it is too dangerous to venture down the cliff without the power of an animal- the swift paws of a wolf, the mighty wings of a bird, the secure footing of a cougar, etc.) The waterfall does not come from a river upon the cliff, but from an underground water source, so it flows up above ground in a small lake before rushing down the mountain in a wave of roaring water. Around the waterfall lake many bushes with berries and such grow, and mothers and their daughters pick them. On the other side of the tribe are the plains, which are separated from the cliff by a fringe of trees. Because of this parents can safely let their children play there.
Here are some words in the Osage language that you can incorporate into your posts here and there- and it took me many hours to find them, so make good use:
Haway- Hello
On ca li pu- Goodbye
Da han- Good
Da heh ninksha- How are you?
Way da han- I’m good
Oh tha tha- Ouch
Hohway- Yes
Hon ka zhi- No

Here’s the sign-up form:
Name(Think Native American- no Bobs or Janes. If you can’t think of a name PM me and I might find a good word for you in Osage that can make a name):
Age(Remember- if you’re under 14 you’re not united yet.):
Gender:
United Animal(If you’re united- and if you are, remember that the animal has to fit your personality. If you’re unsure, check out this site- ladyhawkesite.tripod.com/Totem.htm#Index):
Personality:
Description(Think of how Indians look- no blondes, for example):
Clothing(If you’re not sure what Indians wore- www.native-languages.org/clothing.htm):
Family(If any):
Other(Optional):
Here’s mine:
Name: Menahde
Age: 14
Gender: Female
United Animal: Cougar, a rather small but agile and swift one with a golden honey-coloured pelt with an almost white stomach and nuzzle. The fur on her back is especially bushy, representing her hair, standing up most oddly all the way down to her tail. Her cougar’s eyes are a deep, deep dark brown and she has the same colour tip on her tail.
Personality: Like the cougar, Menahde is speedy and full of grace to those watching. Though she may seem happy and the leader of the group, she is secretly extremely unhappy- with herself. She struggles to become better, and though she is brave and always determined to reach the top, she puts too much weight on purposefully succeeding instead of having fun in life. This causes her to sink back into depression sometimes, but she is strong and does her best not to show it- after all, showing it is also failure. She can often get aggressive and more often than not she accidentally is mean to those she loves, without wanting to. She finds ease in putting down people, though against her will.
Description: Though unusually pale for an Indian, Menahde’s skin colour is determinately dark and brown. She has long hair, almost too long, reaching just below her waist. Though it is represented on her cougar transformation by a bushy mass of fur all the way down her back, that is mostly because of the length; her hair is sleek and silky and night-black, so dark it has barely a shine in it. Like her cougar transformation, her eyes are dark brown.
Clothing: A buckskin dress of leather, the colour of her cougar’s pelt, fringed by the waist and at the hems. On her shoulder a cougar is embroidered.
Family: A mother and a father, no siblings. Her mother is called Gena and is united with the squirrel, her father is called Hanana and is united with the ant.
Other: Menahde just had her uniting ceremony, and is still not quite used to transforming.
There we go. Please sign up. ^^
