Hunty approves =D I'm not entirely sure about a subboard (the guilds' main board really doesn't have many active threads right now, if any, and I don't really think that many new threads for this is a good idea: we don't have many members in the guilds and spreading us all between a dozen threads would just mean that half of them get no attention whatsoever. Even forum-wide art and writing events tend to go with very little attention). Ideally, it could have maybe three or four things running at a time and when one ends, a new one springs up. That way we'd be more sustainable. Let's face it, the guilds are borderline dead right now, with no reason for a newbie to join because there's nothing to do and no guarantee that there'll be something to do one month down the line. If we sprung out fifteen different threads right now, chances are some of them would sink off immediately and when the interest fades, it'll fade on all threads at once. Better to keep some in the back pocket to release when the first contests have outlived their time, amirite? That said, I'll be very much interested to see a flag design contest. While the Weewoo's flag has been canon for a long time (...although I usually draw it without the wings) the Knights for instance could really use one. And I've been missing a good description of each guild base (with concept art and everything) for a long time now. Maybe that could be a contest and moved to the lore subboard after it's done?

Hmm, I think you're right there, and that was a worry I had when I thought of these ideas, that there would be too many contests and not enough people. Since I've split them into categories, we could have one event from each running in conjunction because some of the events tie in together. It might be a good way to bring renewed interest to this neck of the woods (because we all know these guilds are too precious to let them rot).
Anywho, if I perhaps conduct all the main affairs (scoreboard, signups, event listings, news) in one thread, have a thread for each new contest and have it list rules and guidelines, and then maybe one other thread for fun taunts and cheer squads? x3

Yeah, I was thinking that having art and writing contests run simultaneously would keep people from getting bored but not be too overwhelming. <3

I reckon it would be fun to have these games hosted by a guild. Should there be enough interest for another guilympics in the future, that would be hosted by another guild, but for this one, I thought to offer it to the mages or 'fleet. What do you guys think?
Also, I would like two volunteer from each guild. One would act as a judge unless they wish to enter a contest, in which case the second person would take their place. ^^ It works better than a vote because of the unequal numbers of guild membership.

Regardless of guild, it'd probably have to be hosted by someone who'll be active all the way through and willing to flog this thing back on tracks, should it lose interest halfway down the road as forum events often do. Fleet, Mages, doesn't matter to me, as long as it gets pulled off, right? :3
Two volunteers per guild, that's twelve people total, fourteen if this steampunk thing ever takes off. Do we even have this many guildmembers right now? >>; Either way, I can happily volunteer to be a Pirate judge, jury and executioner, yessah.
...what?

Point noted. Well, since I'm currently de fecto mage hound, perhaps the mages could host it. Its more for authenticity rather than an actual 'hosting' thing. =D
Well, there's a hiccup. xD I'll make a note of your judging skillz. *backs away slowly*
But seriously, any ideas? I thought if I got one person from each guild and randomly selected three judges for each contest (forum dice whoot!) - Then they get the entries and each judge gives points out of 10 or 100 or something to make up the total score. Any other ideas are welcome. ^^

I'm a Mage and (sorta) a Knight, so...I can volunteer either? ^^
That could work. I'd prefer to have all six judges voting, just for the sake of fairness, but still...I think we could get judges who wouldn't be biased. (Too much, anyway. ^^ *shot*)

I'll help judge. I'm a Knight, but you can count me as a Merc if necessary.

Well I think I would love to judge, I think I'm fairly unbiased, being a member of all guilds.

Yeah, I can be a judge for most of the events. There isn't much I can do to actually participate in, except the battle idea ^^ So I can judge most of the other things if I'm needed..

So, we've got five wonderful judges which should be enough for three people to judge each event. I'll still try to get two (spacefleet and steampunk anyone?) and see how it goes. ^_^

Well officially I'm a Knight and Ninja. However I am also one of the people wanting the Steampunk guild to start. So I can go for any of the three

Yeah, I think of myself mostly a Ninja anyhow I'm thinking I'll fight for the Ninja for the RP Battle if we still plan on doing that.
