;D Okay, this is how it'll work. You can (but don't have to) choose an original character from the games. You can also make up your own character - a Koopa, Twilighter, and so on. THEN you introduce your characters to the mix. The story is that the pets were transported here by means of a portal, created by Yoshyosh but gone awry.

My other characters are as follows.
Haruka and Masato - Gelert siblings, treasure hunters who are transported to the Mushroom Kingdom
Yoshyosh - Yoshi, the young guardian of the Mushroom Kingdom
Nikki - a slightly insane human girl who dreams of joining the X-Nauts, being strangely infatuated with Lord Crump. Thinks ordinary X-Nauts are the most adorable things in the world.
(I may use a few random creatures as well, I'll just have to see how well this goes.)

"GACK!"
"...ow..."
Three Neopets - two Gelerts and a Kyrii - lay on the ground in Boggly Woods, looking dazed. The shadow Kyrii sprang up angrily. "Masato, that was your fault!"
"Malen, if you'd just be less greedy..." muttered Haruka angrily, shifting off her little brother Masato. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Masato tried to stand and gave a gasp of pain. "I think I hurt my leg. What happened, anyway?"
"We got transported," groaned Haruka. "It's all because of that stupid Malen."
The Kyrii rolled her eyes. "All I did was touch that silly little orb," she muttered. "And you had to go and get us transported. Why do I keep putting up with you?"
"Because you want to steal the treasure we find," said Masato dryly. "More importantly, where are we?"

The three of them see a little grey bug-like creature with an attenna run off.
"Hey, maybe that...thing knows something." Malen said
They followed the little thing,as it ran away. They finally cornered it against the trunk of a tree.
"P-Please don't eat me." it stammered

Malen peered at it, then straightened. "It's a Slorg. I don't like it."
Masato sighed, wishing he could have gotten transported with someone more sensible. "Malen, may I remind you, your Petpet is a slorg. And anyway, this isn't one."
"Yes, quite rude," said a new voice, as a small faerie Slorg fluttered out from behind the Kyrii. "I didn't enjoy that at all, you know." Tansy then noticed the Puni. "Oh. Who's this?" She landed in front of it.

Suddenly, something slammed Malen on the head, then slammed four more times on her stomach before jumping off, standing between the Puni and the three Neopets.
"I had a feeling something was going on." he said "So I took a break from the Glitz pit to check it out."
It looked like a small grey dinosaur, with blond hair that goes in a curl at the top.
(Small spoiler, so you know what's going on-After the adventure is over, the Yoshi goes solo in the Glitz pit)
