If you wanna add your name to the running, PM me quick. Tomorrow I'll set an expiration date so we have a week of voting.
Candidates, post your campaigns. =D
Second-place will be a deputy leader in the case of the primary leader resigning, hiatus'ing, or vanishing.
------
So what do I want to do with this guild? I'm really hoping I win this election so that I can continue to make it a better, more active place. I'm very glad to be off my hiatus - I have a lot more free time now so I'm not as likely to get burnt out. Here are some of my plans for the near future.
--ROLEPLAYING: Cy's last RP died, so I think we should start another. I'll read through it (because I haven't yet *guilty*), PM the current roster to see who is still interested in RPing, and start brainstorming a plot with you guys. We could try reviving the last RP, I suppose, but if there's a reason it's dead (plot holes, lack of interest, or something) there's nothing stopping us from creating a new one.
--SHOP WARS: Fraze asked me to run the Merc shop for Shop Wars. I think we have the potential to be a bit more open-ended than the other guilds - we're soldiers for hire, after all. Clients will be able to hire us, either individually or in a group, for various missions which we will price according to difficulty level. I'm hoping to link missions to the stat-point system (more on that later).
Also, we could sell all those extra weapons we've captured in missions that we have no use for. ^__^ I can't be the only one who has a bunch of unused explosives stashed in the basement.
--STAT POINTS: Cyborg, I think I've talked to you a bit about this in conjunction with your archery activity. I thought this system up for the purposes of missions: depending on the difficulty and type of mission, there will be certain stat requirements; also, you can earn stat points for completing the mission. Additionally, we'll be able to use it for inter-guild championships like the archery competition.
If I can refine this system enough, I'll submit it for use with all guilds. Basically, it's for non-RPing activities. Each character is given a number of stat points that he or she can assign to various stats. These include the usual RPG stats - Strength, Defense, Dexterity, etc. - but also will include special skills such as Espionage, Diplomacy, Magic, and so on. It should work more or less like pen-and-paper RPGs, such as GURPS or D&D, but rather less complicated, as it really won't come into play during our actual RPs. If you think you can help me figure this out, please PM me!
--HQ DESIGN - I want to create a really nifty HQ thread for us. I like organizing threads like that, so it's something I want to get done before the merge happens. It will include a welcome message for newcomers, a roster (list of names with links to character profiles), links to our various activities (which should eventually include the RP, the OOC thread, the shop, stat training, and mission signups), and a summary of all the RP plotlines we've already done. Which shouldn't be as hard as the other guilds, since we're relatively newer. After these posts, the HQ will serve the purpose of general chat/free-form RPing. Sort of like the Tabloids, but Merc-style.
