[Ice]

Ice plunked in a spoonful of Serval DNA. "There we go, all mixed up." She looked at Aikran. "Yeah, I see what you're saying. I do have the same question as Amnei, though. The only thing I can think of is if the Serval/Feral DNA does something to the other kinds."

[Bacon]

Bacon put his inventions on hold, absently watched the cloning class, and reviewed his lesson plan. A door on the far side of the lab from the theatre dinged, and Bacon raced over to the freight 'porter, opening the door and smiling at what was inside. "Perfect!"

(Hey, Zari, could you edit the first post to add my class and update the students attending?)

'I don't know, exactly. It intrigues me. But there's something in the Feral Cat and Serval that the others don't have. I call it the 'override gene.' Zari sctracted Latiere behind the ear and thought.

[Amneiger]

"The override gene...hmm." Amneiger mixed his DNA together and wrote down "override gene in feline DNA cancels out shark and husky forms from their DNA?" in his notes.

[zarikrahia]

'You two both finished? Put this in.' She held up two black scales. 'Then tip it into one of those tubes. The tube'll do the rest of the work for you.

[Amneiger]

"What are those scales?"

[zarikrahia]

I don't know, actually. But since all of my current clones have an ability Tevara or me once had, it's mine or Tevara's. They went in by accident. All the better for it. Aikran doesn't have them, so what he has he got taught. And I think he's been spending too much time with me in a cockpit- I swear he makes noises that sound like swearwords.' To prove her point, the tan-and-brown clone made a noise. 'Yowch. Didn't know he knew that one.'

[Amneiger]

"Uh..." Amneiger looked down at his scale. "Okay." He added the scale to the mixture and poured it into a test tube.

[Ice]

Ice took the scale and gently plunked it into the beaker, swirled, and poured into a tube. A few drops fell on the floor, but she wasn't too worried about it. "Who's Tevara?" she asked, curious.

[Bacon]

Overhearing as he was dragging the rather heavy items he needed for his class closer to the theatre, Bacon asked Zari, "Couldn't you just do a DNA test to tell whose scales they are?"

[zarikrahia]

'I'm partly a clone. I have a Mum and Dad, I just wasn't created the normal way. So unless my Dad's squashed DNA comes up suddenly, in DNA tests were pretty much the same. We're the same height, same frame, same eye colour. The only differerence is I have brown hair and Tevara's is red-ish. Amnei, don't put the DNA in there. Put it in the green tube. Tevara is my blood mother and my mentor in all thing genetic and electronic. She died. When I was 10.' Zari's voice was empy of emotion, for once.

[Ice]

"Hmm, interesting." After mulling over what Zari said for a little while, she spoke up again. "What's next, after we put this in the test tube?"

[Amneiger]

Amneiger listened to Zari's answer and found himself unsure how to respond. "Umm..." He poured the contents of the first test tube into the green tube. "Uh, what's wrong with this first tube?"

[zarikrahia]

'The normal test tube is too small for a clone kit. It'd waste good glassware. Look.' Zari pointed at the tube, where Amneigers Mixture had clumped together and begun to grow a tail.

[Ice]

Ice looked over at the tail. "Whoa, it grows pretty quickly. So are we... keeping these clones, or do they go to Spacefleet, or to you, or what?" She also kept an eye on her own tube.
