Examining the large, wooden spinning contraption outside the back of his temple, Shoichi nodded in satisfaction. The craftsmen had done a very good job on the device and it should prove very useful for training purposes.
With that, Shoichi flipped the main lever, and the device connected to the nearby windwill, causing it to start to spin. Multiple prongs - all armed - began to spin with the central pole, some of which raised up and down on grooves cut into the gating outside the pole.
Drawing his kama knives, he proceeded to give the device an initial test...

Crouching down into a tiger stance, one kama knife above and one arced below, Shoichi struck cleanly against a passing sack of straw, leaving a gash that left its contents leaking out.

Unfortunately, some of the straw sprayed out towards Shoichi, temporarily blinding him. As a mace rotated by, it struck him on the head, knocking him out.
Fortunately (for his safety, if not his reputation) one of the workers had come back to retrieve some equipment and seeing Shoichi on the ground, turned the device off and dragged him back into the dojo.
