Jakie blinked, and smiled awkwardly. Cats think of everything. "That's.. a little weird, but I'm okay with it." She looked down at her feet and pushed her fingers together nervously. "It is about the rogue. It's not for certain, I mean, it's really just speculation, so I don't think it's worth that much but.." She looked back up at Cat Assassin, her usual cheerful expression gone and replaced by a much more serious one. "While I was gone, I met up with some very odd creatures. They aren't from these lands, that's for certain. They say.. Well, more like they predict - Strange things. The villagers in the area treated them with hostility and regarded them as fakes, just fortune tellers looking to make money off of foolish people. But I spent some time with them, cause, well, I like those kind of people." Jakie smiled fondly and her serious expression faded into a dreamy one.

"You mean they gave you some information about the rogue ninja herself?" Cat Assassin gasped. Never had the other ninjas got some very reliable references as to the identity or even the whereabouts of the rogue, and Jakie probably had more than they had combined.
"... Your expression tells me you've trusted these creatures, but I'm still not convinced," Cat Assassin sighed. He never wanted to trust too many people. "... But if you have any information about the rogue, you might want to spill it out."

Jakie nodded. "At first I didn't think they were trustworthy either but.. All of their other speculation and predictions were true. They knew about me just by looking into my eyes, things that know one else could know." Jakie looked hesitantly at CA. "So of course once I realized that weren't fakes I asked them about the rogue. And they told me.."
It was almost six by then, and right on time the blue cat ears popped up from Jakie's head, her human ears vanishing in the same moment. "Um.. Sorry about that." She glanced behind her, as if expecting something to appear. "..Right. The fortune-tellers told me the rogue used to be a high-ranking member of a clan of ninja that no longer exists. They were betrayed by one of their own.. The rogue. Her motives were unknown. But based on what my new friends told me.. I have a theory."

Betrayed by one of their own. Cat Assassin heard that part of the rogue's story and took a quick glance back at the house where he came from. "Bettyming..." he thought.
"... All we have here is someone who claims to have been the rogue's former clanmate," Cat Assassin noted Jakie. "... Though her story coincides with what you've just mentioned, I still don't think her sudden appearance convinces me either. She seemed to have known we're here."

"A member of the rogue's clan, huh?" Jakie looked thoughtful. "They said all of the clan was destroyed, but I suppose it's possible the rogue may have overlooked someone.." Jakie frowned. "You're right to be suspicious though, she could very well be the rogue herself. We'll have to keep an eye on her at all times. Don't want her killing us in our sleep.."
"Anyway. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, those fortune tellers are really cryptic. It was hard enough getting that much out of them." Brightening a little, Jakie moved towards the inn. "So what's the plan, anyway? Are we resting or moving?"

Cat Assassin finally had someone whose mind was at least travelling at the same wavelength as his. Judging by his brief encounter with Bettyming, she seemed to know undetectable danger well. Or too well.
The coat-clad cat glanced at the moon once more. "It's getting too late for us to move. Currently we're residing at the inn for the night, but I'm still on the look-out," he quickly noted Jakie. "That berries I threw up earlier gave me some kind of rejuvenation, and though it was probably meant for my wild side to activate much quicker, I'm putting it to good use by scouting around."
He then walked towards Jakie and patted her on the shoulder. "Welcome back, by the way," he smiled. "Your presence adds up to the small force we're in."

Bettyming had already fallen asleep, she found it strange all the ninjas were talking about sleep but no one had done so yet. Then she had a flashback dream, to about 10 years ago.. "Kaiyashun, you've done a great job! So great, we, the Raptor Clan, are going to promote you!" "Thank you." Kaitashun walks out of the room. Bettyming walk in. "Bettyming! Is there anything you need?" "Sir, I think Kaiyashun is selling secrets to pirates. I have proof." Bettyming shows the higher-up sacks of dubloons and envelopes filled with the most carefully guarded secrets written in Kaiyashun's handwriting adressed to various pirate captains. "This is impossible! How could Kaiyashun sell our most guarded secrets?" "Kaiyashun is in debt to the owner of the grocery store." "That must be why the pirates defeated us last week..." "Yes sir." One day later. "Kaiyashun, I have obtained proof that you have sold our secrets to pirates." "No, no, no, sir, I-uh-" "You are hereby banned from the Raptor Clan." "Mark my words, sir, you shall regret the day you banned one of your most poweful allies!" Seven days later. Bettyming walking towards Raptor Clan headquarters. "I never liked funerals... they're so depressing. What's that smoking in the distance? Oh no.... " Bettming silently cried in her sleep.

The ninjas were starting to get to sleep now.
SRGNG lied in his bed, hugged his pillows, and snored loudly. He had no problems getting to sleep, obviously.
PFA was a little concerned for her Uncle's safety, but was too tired to stay awake for very long, and fell asleep fairly quickly.
Jernath, however, was busy thinking about the rogue, and all that she had done. She seemed to have done something to the people in this town, but he wasn't sure what... she apparently betrayed the group Bettyming was in... she apparently was ruining the reputation of the ninjas somehow...
And then there was what she did to Riverwell. The scene played itself over and over again in his mind. Coming home, just to find that it was on fire. And dear Meria, stabbed clean through, probably with a katana. It made him angry just thinking about it.
She will die, he thought to himself. That rogue is going to die.
He silently pondered over what was the best way to kill that blasted rogue, until at some point he drifted to sleep.

Zaha went back to her room, and ignored the bed completely. Well, not completely true. She eyed the slightly motheaten mattress with plain distrust, then got a blanket out of her bag and curled up in a messy knot of ninja girl-cat. It was late, true, but Zaha couldn't help staying awake. It took a long time for her breathing to even out, even longer for her eyelids to lower. She thought.
This rogue isn't much more than raw, with slime to make it slippery like a fish covered in sewage. It knows no love nor mercy, it has no tears left to cry after killing, does cold-blooded murder without a thought, probably knows no art of how to survive with guilt and how to let grudges wither away...yawwwwwwwwwntired...
Zaha drifted off, dreaming...of cake and elevators...with cream...mmm, creamHEYWAIT. that's not cream...it's a llama...what has cream to do with llama's anyway...
You get the idea.
((That ninja-cat has been spending waaaaaaay too much time talking to Ailura-Zari.))

Daylight broke out from the darkness of the sky, as the orange rays of the sun began to rise from the horizon over the mountains. Some of the townspeople, notably old ladies cleaning their own frontyard, had woken up to receive the sun's warm blessing while it lasted.
The inn was quieter than last night, void of the drunk men who oftentimes entered to get sober. The only ones awake were the innkeeper who was tending to the cleanliness of the inn and the chef who was ordered to cook breakfast for their own customers.
Of course, the ninjas were also starting to wake up.
Cat Assassin was already in the dining room, taking a sip or two from a cup of tea he just ordered. The sleepy look on his face seemed oblivious, but he was well-rested from the night. His stroll around town only took him less than an hour anyway.
"Rough night, huh?" spoke the kind innkeeper, who noticed the feline's ragged fur standing out.
The feline kept silent.

As Bettyming awoke from the armchair she had been sleeping in earlier, she yawned and stretched, before looking out the window. She was feeling particularly optimistic. She straightened out her hoodie and went to the dining room of the inn. Bettyming found a table and sat down, and she started to furiously polish her katana before asking the chef for pancakes. "Now that yesterday is behind us and we finally went to sleep after talking about it for several hours, what shall we do today?" she said to no one in particular. "Shall we go out and find the rogue? Set her up? Or put my knowledge of the book 'Fun with Flammables' to good use? What to do..." Her voice trailed off as she stared at the maple-syrup soaked breakfast food.

SRGNG woke up on the floor. He blinked, looking over and noticing the bed next to him. He must have rolled off at some point and had been too heavy of a sleeper to notice. But that logic didn't come to the ninja. "Alright, who pushed me off the bed?"
PFA was already up. She combed through her hair with her fingers, getting out some of the tangles, and then weaved it back into a braid. When she was done, she ran off to the dining room to get some breakfast.
Jernath had been up for quite some time. He had decided earlier that morning that he wasn't sure he wanted to touch the food that the inn was serving them, and had gone out to the nearby woods to fetch his own breakfast. Having been out in the woods with the Rangers for however long it had been--he had stopped keeping track a long time ago--he knew a thing or two about finding one's own breakfast.
When PFA had gotten to the dining room, she heard Bettyming speak. PFA responded with, "I assume we're going to go out and look for the rogue again. I mean, we'll have to know where she is and where she's going before we can set up any traps, right? Waffles, please," the last bit was directed to the chef, who had asked her what she wanted for breakfast.
SRGNG ambled into the dining room at that point, with a terribly messy bed-head. He yawned. "Say, does anyone know where Jernath is? I didn't see him in bed this morning, and I don't see him here, either..."

At that moment, the window opened and Zahaere Emaya slipped in, semi-human formed. There were feathers in her hair and she was dragging a bag that appeared to have some suspicious dark stains at the bottom. When she caught the horrified stares of the inkeeper, she snorted. "I'm not chewing on your farm animals, sir, only on the local pigeons, which leave mess on your rooves and streets and do nothing useful except contribute to the charming scenery. I saw Jernath breifly, he must have been doing the smart thing and getting his own feed." She yawned, reached into the bag and puled out a unidenitfiable piece of raw meat and chewed on it almost cheerily. "Anyone want pigeon for breakfast? No? Suit yourself. Silly humans."

Cat Assassin nodded at the sudden influx of ninjas waking up to greet the new day. "So I reckon most of us are here? We'd better pack up our things and go, so we better have to look for the others," he reminded all of them. "We'll take our move before the rogue-"
Suddenly, loud screams could be heard from afar.
"... strikes again."
Quickly, Cat Assassin ran outside the inn and towards the source of the agonizing cries. He knew for a moment that something was very wrong.

SRGNG looked over at Zaha. "You think? Hey PFA, you sure those waffles aren't poisoned?"
"Uhhh..." PFA stared at her plate warily. Well, the townspeople really didn't seem to like the ninjas much, but would they actually go and poison the food?
"So I reckon most of us are here?" Cat Assassin said, nodding to the crowd of ninjas. "We'll take our move before the rogue-"
Before he could finish his sentence, there was a loud scream off in the distance. PFA's eyes just about bolted out of their sockets. Someone was in trouble? It wasn't Jernath--the one not there--was it?
...Then again, Jernath probably wouldn't scream that high-pitched a scream.
Probably.
"Come on, guys!" PFA shouted, hopping out of her seat and leaving her waffles behind. SRGNG followed, slipping on his ninja mask on the way out the door. Whatever was going on, they hoped they could get there before it was too late.
