Fenrix smiled, showing teeth. "Much better than pulling a bunny out of a cape." She casually looked down at Ventratta. "Hello mate." At the sound of the word 'ship' she raised her head. "Sounds like fun." She shook her foot at the weewoo who had perched itself on her toe. "Thats not a perch, go sit with magey over there. She likes you. I'm more into the scaley kind."

((Stealing is wrong, unless it's from pirates. ...wait a minute... >.> Okay, stealing is wrong, period. ^_^; )) "So, how are we going to go about acquiring this ship, anyway?" Ikkin asked. "Do you have a plan?" [glow=red,2,300]"Spend the day roundin' up a crew. Take 'er in the dead o' night. She'll probably be guarded, but that's a minor inconvenience to us." "Glad to have you aboard, Miss Silverstreak. Now you, Ikkin Odd-Ears, ye'll need a good weapon." She jangled the purse that she had aquired from the hung-over man.[/glow]

"I'm almost positive we'll meet some resistance," Ikkin said. "But, I suppose I don't really mind. It's not as if there's any better way to procure a ship... at least, I don't see anyone here who looks like they could pay for one. As for the weapon... you're probably right. And thanks for the offer." She decided she would have to remember that; while she still wanted her necklace back, she figured she might be able to forgive Rider for that injustice in time. But, for now, there were more important things to deal with. "Does anyone know of a good sword-smith around here?"

"That white ship? She doesn't have guards. She has something worse."
Huntress had found herself a small table near the wall, a conveniently placed one above that, so she had spent the breakfast time - a nastily greasy breakfast above that - eavesdropping a little. The part she hadn't heard was delivered by the little meepit sitting on her shoulder, a method she had found most convenient. Now the meepit landed in the plate to eat the leftovers, shooting a thoughtful glance at Ventratta.
"A nice new mine of diamonds was recently opened in Lost Desert as some of you may have heard," the girl added, more to her plate than to anyone else, "and so the country is increasing its military power. That's what the ship is carrying." She looked up. "Three troops of trained, well-taught, well-armed soldiers."
"Some of who currently have diarrhoea because some of us have too much fun messing around in the ship's galley," the meepit added with his mouth full.
Huntress half-scowled, half-grinned. "They were getting... annoying. But that still leaves two good troops."

"Ever since the Arsenic kicked me out, I've been in need of a decent ship and crew. The Twisted Halo just doesn't cut it, anyway. They won't miss me. Count me in, Rider - or should I say, cap'n."
She reached out one hand for the white Weewoo to perch onto. It hopped right onto her fingers, and Kat put the Weewoo onto her shoulder, where it shifted around before settling.
"I know a good sword-smith 'round Meridell. My cousin. He made me this cutlass. Interested, Ikkin?"
"And, soldiers don't scare me," she added. "Nothing scares me. Kat never gets yellow."

"As much as I'd love to go back to Meridell," Ikkin told Kat, "I'd be killed if I went anywhere near there. As I told Rider, I have a bit of a... history... there. Unless you could have your cousin ship it all the way out here within a reasonable amount of time, I don't think that would be an option... Considering the kind of odds we'll be facing anyway, I think Rider will need all the help she can get."

"Good point," said Kat, shrugging. "Look, Rider, if you want a First Mate, I'm open. So long as you promise not to chuck me off the ship without evidence that I'm actually trying to take over your position."
"Perhaps I can send off this little critter to my cousin. Ask him if he's got some other friends. What d'you think?"
She snapped her fingers twice, and a roll of parchment paper, a black and white quill, and a bottle of purple ink appeared out of thin air. Spreading the paper onto the table, she started to write.
Luke,
I've got a friend who needs a good sword. However, we can't pass by Meridell right now since...it's out of our way. Do you know any other good sword-smiths out there? Yeah, I know, none of them will ever be good as you. There, have I inflated your ego enough?
Or, can you meet us somewhere near Krawk Island?

[glow=red,2,300]Rider turned to face the stripey-haired girl who had suddenly appeared. "Okay... a bit mroe than a minor inconvenience. Wait! How do you knwo this?"
"How fast can this Luke guy get here? I don't want to put off taking this ship. Honored to have ye aboard, by the way."[/glow]

"A'right, a'right!" Cyr shot back at the barmaid, who looked a bit fed up. Closing her eyes to sum up a bit of patience, she sheathed her knife and swiveled the bar stool back and forth a few times to waste some time. Deciding that this wasn't her type of thing, Cyr yawned copiously and went about getting up off of the stool. As she was walking out the door, she heard a snatch of conversation.
" . . . ship. Honored to have ye aboard, by the way."
She checked, pivoted, and backtracked a couple of casual steps to where a group of fierce-looking females was conversing about ships.
"Beg pardon, lasses, but are y'all wantin' a crewmate for a ship? I've got nothin' to do, and I'm lookin' for a change of scenery from bein' stranded on a bare strip o' land like we've got here."

[glow=red,2,300]Rider turned to face the stripey-haired girl who had suddenly appeared. "Okay... a bit mroe than a minor inconvenience. Wait! How do you knwo this?"[/glow] "I work on that ship." Huntress leaned forward, partly to pick up the meepit who had wandered to the other side of the table and partly to show the big white crossbow that was attached to her back. You could never be too early to prevent any funny ideas forming in the skulls of strangers you were talking to. "Many men need a lot of food and the galley always needs an extra pair of hands. The salary is measly though." Something glinted in her eyes. "The life of a pirate sounds more rewarding, to say the least." "Depends what you call a reward," commented the meepit. "Shiny coins versus the gallows, sounds like fun." "Usually shiny coins and the gallows in respective order," another voice added from somewhere under the table and another pair of beady eyes appeared in the dimness. Meepits seemed to be pack animals. Huntress shrugged. ((Yus, I have a soft spot for traditions xP))

[glow=red,2,300]Rider looked Cyr up and down. "Ye any good in a fight, lass? If so, ye're welcome ter come."
She turned back to Hunty. "Aye, if ye hep us, we'll pay ye better than they e'er did, but if you're plannin' ter betray, I'll have her head, and what'd ye say yer name was again?"
"By the way, I'd rather skip the gallows bit."[/glow]

"For me, it's either the gallows, or the gallows and the coins. And I think I'd rather have the coins to show for it," Ikkin said. "I'm not sure how much we should trust a once-traitor not to turn on us, but I suppose I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, since we're probably going to need all the help we can get anyway, if what she's saying is correct."
She then turned to Kat. "I trust you have some kind of magic that could send that letter a bit quicker than the speed of a Weewoo, right? Not to sound ungrateful - I consider myself in your debt for what you have done for me - but I'm really hoping that I will have some kind of weapon for the upcoming fight."

Fenrix gave a small chuckle, swinging her legs over the bar and hopping down on the other side, much to the annoyed barmaid's dismay, she began rooting around the bar. "Anyone want some rum, brandy or....ick, what is this junk? Vodka? Gross." She tossed that over Rider's head and let it hit the wall. "I love that sound." She popped back over the bar and sat down again, curling her tail over the neck of the rum bottle, and holding four glasses in her hands. "Anyone up for drinks?"
Turning serious now she frowned. "We could always magic the men on the ship. And it looks like we're all seasoned fighters. It shouldn't be That hard to steal the ship."
