"Well la-di-da, ain't we special. I took on the captain of the Bloody lace. And you? You're target practice." She stood and brushed away her cloak for a fraction of a second, showing a menacing curved broad sword. "My name is Fenrix Silver streak, assassin of the Treasure. It'll be a pleasure to beat you."

Keng had been working in the run down tavern for a few weeks now. It wasn't the greatest employment, but it was enough to get by on, and better than nothing. She was wearing a dirty white shirt and some ragged pants. She appeared a normal girl and gave away no sign of what she really was. She'd recently docked on a ship that had come from a port at the edge of the lost desert. It's been the closest one she could find to the haunted woods. Unfortunately it turned out her ticket was only one way, and she was now stuck on Krawk Island mopping floors and wiping dishes. (they didn't actually clean dishes here, as they though soap was a waste of money, so she was told to just wipe them down with a damp cloth. Aren't you glad you now know what kinda mugs you're drinking out of?)
She noticed zylaa and the chia police near the door. Police in a tavern like this was not good for business and the owners would not appreciate their prescence, even if it was to take away an anti-rum protestor, so she slipped over.
"Excuse me officers but I think you're mistaken here. You see, whe she was yelling earlier she was talking about a new drink called Al's Co. Hall. See?" here she pulled out a bottle with a hastily constructed, but not completly unconvincing label on it. "As for places outside of neopia, she meant the Virtupets Space station. So really there's no problem. Oh, and don't mind the tussle in the back, they're just practicing for a play. You see there's a play festival in Altador comming up soon and they are hoping to win first prize. They're quite good and have truly mastered their speacial effects as you can see." she turned her head a little and gave a quick wink to Zylaa, then looked back at the police. "Now is there anything else I can do for you gentlemen?" she waited a slight pause, "No? Excellent, well, I'm sure you have many more important things to do tonight. For example I hear that someone's started a chain letter at the trading post with the request signs." she gave her head a little flick in the general direction of Mystery Island.

[glow=red,2,300]"Cap'n of the Swordfish, are ye?" Rider smiled wryly at the flush-faced purple mage. "I been on ships whose names'd make that pretty hair o'yours curl. Now if ye'll excuse me, I've got to inform the Chia Police that they don't exist."
Rider, who had shared a room with Ikkin, had left before the kitsune woke. She had left a piece of paper covered in almost-illegible scrawl. "If ye want yur neklas bak, giv me all yur monny. And tell me mor bout them eers."
It was signed, "Ridr".
The morning brought with it new troubles. Rider couldn't afford breakfast, and was forced to steal food and a spot of cash from a man with a severe hangover. Sooner or later, that fox-girl and the rest of the characters from the night before would come down for a bite of grub. All she could do was sit and wait for company.[/glow]

"Assassin, schmassassin," Kat taunted, drawing her cutlass and flipping it once in the air before catching it perfectly by the hilt. And the Treasure, eh? I've got a friend who knows a friend who boarded your ship once and stole that precious gold statue you were trying to smuggle into Krawk Island." She cackled, pointing her cutlass at Fen.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Fenrix Silver Streak," she added. "It would be an even bigger pleasure to beat you."
As she stood her ground, waiting for her opponent to attack, the mage-wench flicked her eyes towards the red-caped girl.
"Names mean nothing," replied Kat simply. "And besides, all the fierce-sounding ones were taken when I got my ship. The crew of the Arsenic, who made me their gunner, were all too glad to throw me out 'cause they were afraid I'd become their captain."

After Ikkin finally managed to get her bearings back, she noticed a note on the table next to her bedside. If ye want yur neklas bak, giv me all yur monny. And tell me mor bout them eers. -Ridr Ikkin nearly cringed at "Ridr's" spelling. She knew that was only because she was used to the court and the knights, where everything was always done properly, and that pirates couldn't be expected to have the same civility, but it still caught her off-guard. Great, she thought. That Ridr person knocks me out, takes my necklace, and expects me to pay her to get it back. I don't even have any money, and even if I did, she probably would have taken that too. She's going to regret this...And with that, Ikkin went down the stairs and back into the pub, to find the Ridr girl from the night before eating what looked like a partially-eaten omelette. She sat down next to her. "So, 'Ridr.' Who do you think you are, making demands of me like that?" she asked. "And you better tell me, or else you'll never find out about my ears."

[glow=red,2,300]Rider just laughed at the purple mage and continued onto the other, more rushed timeline of this RP.
A cliched flash of the blade, and Ikkin was staring at the point of a sharp, shining cutlass.
"I believe I have the upper hand here, girl. Or would you rather I took those pretty ears right off of you? Now, you sound like you come from a cushy place, a cushy family. You've got to be loaded. Of course you don't carry your cash on you, you're smarter than that! But you've got to have more."[/glow]

Ikkin looked down at the cutlass that the other girl pointed towards her. "Nice blade you've got here," she said, backing up a bit while changing the pressure of the air around her hand. "Pity it won't do you much good." She grabbed onto the blade, her hand protected by the high-pressured air around it.
"I might sound like I've done nothing in my life but order my servants to take care of my every whim, but I assure you, that is not so. I used to be a knight in Meridell, so I am far more skilled in the blade than any run-of-the-mill pirate wench. Unfortunately, I am no longer... welcome... in Meridell, so there is no hidden money you can take." As she spoke, she became more and more upset, allowing her fire magic to come through her hand, as well. The cutlass was starting to become red-hot. "Now, I suggest that you put your weapon away before I ruin it. If I am forced to hold it for much longer, it will ruin the temper, and you'll have to have the whole sword reforged."

She put back her cutlass and walked towards the room she had in the tavern. "Tomorrow," she called towards Fen. "Tomorrow."
~*~*~*~
And thus, it was tomorrow.
When she woke up, Kat didn't even bother going down the stairs. She merely zapped herself over to a table to have some breakfast, while watching a couple of pirates yammering about some necklace and a burning cutlass. One of them was the red-caped one she had yelled at yesterday, and the other was a new find, with strange fox-like ears.
"Oy, you're a mage too?" she called over to the pirate holding onto the cutlass and slowly heating it up.

"I suppose one could call me that," Ikkin said to the girl, who she recognized as the one who was beating up on the pirates the day before. She didn't take her attention off of "Ridr," though. "I tend to be more of a sword-fighter, but my sword was broken in my last fight. It would have made things so much simpler..."

[shadow=purple,left,300]((I just got lucky, that's all. xDDDDD No problem.))[/shadow] "A cutlass is like a sword though," said Kat. "But I like swords too. So, what's with you beating up Red-Cape? I know, I know, I beat up a good lot yesterday, but I'm just curious, really. I beat them up because they wanted me on their ship, and I politely refused, and they wouldn't take it, so there." She glanced around the tavern for a while, as though searching for them. "I bet they got their stupid wreck and hauled their butts outta here.
"Your sword? Broken? Let me guess - magic." Kat yawned, and ate the last of her bacon and toast.

((brain implodes from weird timeline))
After the chia police left the tavern Keng rounded on Zylaa. "There, now that I've gotten them off your back, I expect ye to stop yer rambling about the dangers of alcohol and whatnot. Bad fer business ye know. And I can't have that in here while the owner's out, I could get fired you know, not to mention you must be drunk yerself to be tellin a host full of pirates and corsairs that they can't have no more rum when they're all armed to the teeth. G'night to ye." and she strode off to continue with her job, and shortly after when her shift was up crept off to sleep.
___________
In the morning she woke and wandered back into the tavern to be greeted by the usual mess left after the nightly brawls that seemed so unavoidable in this dreary place. "Ah well, another day another bucket of dirty water." she sighed as she set to work getting rid of the more obvious of the messes, and putting a few broken chairs off to the side. They would have to be mended latter.

[glow=red,2,300]((I'm sorry for screwing up the timeline! T_T))
The kitsune was cleverer than Rider had thought. Rider sheathed her sword. "Ye're more useful than I thought ye were. Why'd Meridell leggo of a treasure like you?
"Ne'er mind, 's none o' my buisness. So, pretty odd-ears, ye never did tell me your name. An' you, mage, what were ye doin' last night?"[/glow]
