Ikkin looked into the storm as it came closer, wondering if there really was a demon in the winds. There was something greenish-blue there, but then again, water sometimes looked like that on its own. She concentrated on it, trying to feel out what it was, her sense of magical energy obscured by the fierce winds. Even so, there was definitely something unnatural there. Definitely.
"Ikkin, we might need that wind in our sails after all," she heard Rider call, over the storm. She looked to her captain, sensing just how afraid the other pirate was. Whatever was in that storm, Rider didn't want to meet it. "Make that a lot of wind," the captain said, obviously seeing something that Ikkin herself could not yet make out.
Losing no time, Ikkin jumped to the crow's nest and started summoning up as much wind as she could. Directing the ship away from that storm would be no easy task... she soon found herself highly fatigued, but knew that there was no way that she could let herself falter. And then, she saw it. Two green eyes glaring at her from the center of the storm, watching her malevolently. She nearly lost control of her own winds from the surprise, and despite her best efforts, couldn't stop them from losing some of their power. The creature was coming closer... she'd have to move, fast. And hopefully, Rider would have a plan for how to deal with it if it did manage to catch up.
Calling upon her last reserves of energy, Ikkin created the swiftest winds she'd ever done, and hoped it would be enough to get away from that monster, because there was no denying the truth... if it caught them, that thing would not rest until they were all dead.

Huntress was hanging in the rigging, holding on with every last strand of strength she had and praying that the ropes wouldn't break. The Weewoo wasn't exactly a spring chicken and the previous captain had cared more of the whiteness of the planks than replacing worn out ropes. The howling of the wind got stronger, and she sincerely hoped that it was simply the wind. The girl squinted up at the air mage in the crow's nest and then at the sails. Then she sighed, shook her head and started climbing up.
"Bad idea," Bob stated from the pouch.
"I thought I told ye to go downstairs," Huntress muttered, though not very angrily; she knew that Bob rarely left the pouch.
"There's a reason why sails must stay reefed during storms," the meepit said, glaring at the yard Huntress was going for.
"Now thar's a reason to forget all about it," the pirate replied and reached out her hand to tie open a rope, a relatively crucial rope at this moment. "'Sides, it's only th' foremast, the mainsail stays reefed."
"That's what I'm afraid of!" Bob screeched, sinking into the pouch as the rope fell loose. And all the remaining sails of the foremast fell down to open themselves to Ikkin's wind. The whole brigantine shook and pressed on with new speed, though the foremast was now creaking viciously, predicting that if the wind doesn't cease soon, the mast won't last long either.
"It's gonna break," Bob hissed, hiding behind a silver coin. "It's too weak for power like this!"

Several things happened at once. Well, they usually do, because that is the nature of events, but in this case several remarkable things happened to Zylaa at the same time. The weasel made her way onto the main deck, saw the malevolent eyes in the storm for a split second, stepped backwards, and fell belowdeck again as the jerking of the ship caused her to lose her balance. "What the devil is going on?" she cried, rubbing her bruised skull.

The wind had come so fast and so suddenly that Komori nearly blew off the ship. Hazards of being a featherweight korbat, she thought angrily to herself as she gripped a rail. When the mainsail caught a big chunk of the breeze, she managed to somehow make it back on deck and tie herself to the nearest solid object she could find, which happened to be the foremast. Of course, by now the mast was creaking fiercly, and she knew if that thing broke she'd be in open storm water in a heartbeat. It was probably a good time to actually do a bit of carpentry.
"Gimme som'thin' ta brace this mast with!" she tried to shout over the wind, but she didn't know if anyone could hear her. And even if they did, how could anyone carry something big enough to brace the mast in this wind? So Komori huddled against the wind, muttering angrily about demons and magics and all manner of angrifying things.

Pam grabbed some rope with a vague idea of lashing the ship's wheel to help steer away from the storm, and rushed over to the helm... as much as anyone could rush with the ship listing over to one side and water pouring across the deck.
((who else is at the helm at the mo, btw???))

Just then, she heard the mast creak again, and heard Komori call out for some kind of assistance, probably dealing with fixing that mast. "On second thought, get Komori something to brace that mast with! You should be able to use your wind magic to make it easier to carry something!"

The waves were getting high as the wind's power increased. Scallywag squawked in a panic as he tried to hold onto his perch as best he could. Occasionally his feet were wrenched from their spot, scraping the wood as they slipped away leaving the bird to flap maddly back to try to claw down again. Keng hadn't expected it to come quite as fast as it had. It seemed as if as the storm had gotten closer to them, it's momentum had increased as if it had started at a jog then burst into a fevered sprint. She tried to reach her feathered friend, but the painted deck had become to slippery. Waves were beggining to lap over the railings. And imparticualrily large one washed over the port side, and sent Keng crashing into the opposite railing.
She lay with the wind knocked out of her for a moment. She'd never known water to hit quite that hard. A shiver gripped her whole body. For such tropical waters it was certainly cold. Her hand slid behind her neck and pressed down on the familiar spot. Fur quikly covered her body and claws came from her fingers as she switched to her werewolf form. She hoped it would make things easier to grip, not to mention a little warmer.
She stood up again, picking herself up off the deck at exactly the wrong moment. A gust of wind, strong as an ox, struck her in the chest. It was enough force to send her toppling over the railing and into the icy cold water.
Soon after splahing down she managed to struggle to the surface. Had anyone seen her go over? She doubted she could call for help and be heard, but she might be able to get her message across with a diffrent call. With some difficulty while attempting to stroke against the current and keep her head above the waves, she managed to let out a loud broken up howl.

Echo's wolf ears twitched at the howl as her mind deciphered the language.
"...KENG'S BEEN THROWN OVERBOARD!!!!!" Echo ran to the railings, making sure that her elemental workings were stable. She looked over to see the werewolf in the water. "HANG ON!" she yelled, as she dashed off to find some rope.

Pam was still holding the rope she hadn't yet managed to attach to the helm. She slid across the deck to where Echo was. "This do you?" she asked, offering it to her.

((Hunty's starting to think that we're CPRing a long dead corpse here... but she'll post anyway x.X))
"I'm surprised that it didn't happen sooner," remarked Bob from the pouch, his voice a bit muffled as he had slammed his teeth into the pouch - a grip remarkably more reliable than a grip of meepit paws.
"Ye can't help her, can ye?" Huntress asked, slowly maneuvering to get a bit more comfortable position up in the rigging. She had seen what had happened but was powerless at the moment, dozens of feet above the deck as she currently was.
Two beady eyes turned up to glare at her. "No better than you." Suddenly he turned his head to sniff the air - or to let the wind blow up his nostrils, taking the current situation.
A fierce roar echoed through the storm, sounding like it was coming from far away and still being awfully near. But the roar wasn't directed to the Weewoo, whoever was letting it out then - it had noticed the same as Bob.
Huntress squinted. She couldn't see much besides the dark sky, the white foam and way too much water but right there in front of them, far behind the bowsprit, something was looming in the distance. It took her a moment to realize that it were simply two waterspouts - or a gap between them, to be exact.
Something was pushing through there, something so powerful that it forced the waterspouts to back off. The pirate looked down at the meepit, knowing that his nose was far more reliable...
Bob had hidden in the pouch.
"It's that goddarn ship again!!" hissed his twice as muffled voice.

A fresh wave came up and fell back down with such force that it sent Keng flying through the air for a second or two before she came down again with a hard splash. She snorted helplessly as she tried to keep her lungs empty of water by getting the water out of her nose. Another white capped wave crashed over her head, pushing her underwater. It didn't take to long to get back above the surface, but the effort of trying to stay up was exhausting.
Something hard jabbed at her side. She cried out in sharp pain for a moment, a sound stolen be the heavy winds. Looking at the offending object she was relieved to see a large floating log. Something she could hold onto.
