I was randomly looking around and I stumbled upon the Spacefleet guild shop (where I bought stuff sshhhhh) and I thought why not have a pirate one. I told the idea to Ikkin and she suggested seeing what you guys thought. So opinionate.

[glow=red,2,300]We can't have an official Guild Shop. Not sketchy enough. We're pirates, after all. We sell our stuff on the black market. >.> Shhhhhh...
In any case, we're not as genteel as the 'fleet, nor do we have catchy slogans, logos or a cutesy little T-shirt printer.
... We do, however, have magepower and a cap'n who likes her shinies.
I don't think we'll go touristy or corporate just yet, though. XD A shop like Fraze's, while cute, does not fit the pirates.[/glow]

Hmmm...while this would be a cute idea, it doesn't fit us pirates. But maybe we could have a black market post instead for treasure and other things we could sell. >_> <_<[/shadow]

[glow=red,2,300] ... We do, however, have magepower and a cap'n who likes her shinies.[/glow] S'cuse me? What'd you say? I didn't catch it 'cos I'm temporarily deafened by the jingling of shinies in my mental ear. But I do agree that a shop doesn't fit the pirates, at least a Spacefleet-type regular souvenir shop thingie. Now a black market or a Neopets-esque Smugglers Cove kinda thing would be more along our lines. You know, that 'converting rare/valuable/magical stuff into shinies' business, considering that pirates care more about coins (that can be used to buy stuff) than random items that are always looted among coins. The shop could be used to get rid of those. Of course, actually getting the customers is the tricky part, because you all know that said rare/valuable/magical stuff would be lots more pricy than my certain $19.99 a piece business down south x'3

[glow=red,2,300]Getting customers would be the tricky part, as we wouldn't buy these things (as the profits are our pay) and if the shop is located inside the guild, no one from the other guilds would come.
Hmm, I wonder though, if the shop was located on the main Guild board and Fraze moved his to the main Guild board, things could get Interesting. ^_^ Ruthless buisnesswoman Hunty vs. Fraze and the 'fleet.[/glow]

We have very few active guildmembers in all guilds, maybe two dozen overall, and apart from the GW, we all stay in our respective guilds. There hasn't even been any pirate-ninja spying to speak of. We're like the Ankh-Morpork guilds, pardon the narrow reference most people won't get: we sit in our guilds doing our business, occasionally meet with other guildspeople in big gala events, say nice things to each other while drinking champange and/or murder other guildspeople, then go back to our business until a new gala event comes. (Though we're lucky that we don't have to answer to Vetinari x3) Whereas considering the number of active guilders overall, I think we need more gala events. More overlapping in the guilds, more all-guild stuff like shops and maybe RCPs where we can actually talk to other guildspeople. What we have now is three to five people per guild doing their guildly stuff, and that's it. Ofcourse, that brings the threat of our own guild dying, but there never really are threads other than the RP active anyway. And I always considered tabloid!Hunty and captain!Hunty to be firmly separate (otherwise the latter would have clear access to Thundy's nukes, and, well, you don't want that.) But the cap'n should still be pretty darn good at managing her shinies, yes x3

If you make a Piratey shop thing in the main guilds board, I'll definitely see if we can move the 'Fleet Gift Shop thread out there too.
