Because this place needs to be revived, badly. X3 Basically, the Mages' Guild is putting on a weekly contest. We will be taking contract requests from the other Guilds for magical assistance. Then, each of the participating mages attempts to come up with a solution to the contract's problem. Solutions will be rated on both creativity and effectiveness. Prizes will be given in Cookie Points, which can be spent at Scar's shop (soon to come) to buy magical components and synthesize magical items. But, since we don't have any contracts out yet... we'll just start with one situation that was offered as an example by Scar. X3 The contract request: Mr. A (who is most certainly not Scar) is having trouble with his love life, and has requested the assistance of the mages to help him make up with the girl of his dreams. He has asked that the answer not be a simple love potion or any other form of direct coercion, but would like to be fairly certain that his love will stay with him. Your mission is to come up with such a spell to use for Mr. A. You don't necessarily need to be able to use it yourself; one of the other mages should be able to do that if you can't. So, mages, get out there and help! For cookies!

Okay, so do we post solutions here or in that other thread I saw? Solutions are to be posted on the Mage Manor board where the contract is given. There will probably be several contract threads open it once, so it's important to put it in the correct thread. The winning solution will be posted to the Guilds board thread. Sorry, should have made that more clear.

The problems in the Guilds board thread will get threads of their own, but not necessarily right away. I want to let each contest have some time to itself before moving on to the next one. But, you post the solution on that problem's thread when it's created. ^^ If nothing's posted on this one by tomorrow, I might just make this a rules thread and start over with Goosh's problem, though.

Mr. A: I would suggest a mild empathy spell (either kind), so that she can tell how you feel about her, or so that you can tell if she's, say, bored, or nervous. Be careful though: if one of you gets angry then the spell will most likely fuel a fight. Or maybe you could use a telepathy spell. That way you could tell what the thinks about you, what you say, maybe you could even find out what she wants to hear you say. A word of warning: if you plan on going anywhere that involves more than just you and her, you will, more likely than not, hear some things that you will wish you didn't. Or, you could just go with the classic, non-magical approach. You know, some flowers and chocolates here, a serenade to her during a moonlit picnic by the lakeside there, that kind of thing. It's been tried and tested, and has zero chance of draining every last bit of your magic power.

Dear, Mr. A, I have no spell, but a special potion =D
Go to your local potion shop and buy a potion style "Windex". Use it to clean the whole kitchen, rest room, living room, etc etc.
Bound to send her right back into your arms =D
(To the mages: It's not magical and just an excuse for me to get a male to clean, but SHH! He doesn't know it! x3 )

Mr. A, I really don't see what the mages can do for you. You say you want a magical cure, but you also say you don't want to manipulate the girl. What magic could be done that wouldn't in some way be manipulating her? I'm not sure where you draw the line on these matters, but I think anything magical that would help you make up with her would also be against my morals. This means that I probably can't be any help to you, but I wish you luck. If you'd like to provide more information on why she and you aren't getting along, I'll see what advice I can offer on the situation, but I understand if you'd prefer not to say.

I've decided on dual winners rather than just one, because the "creativity and effectiveness" criteria seem to call for it sometimes.
For most creative, Aeri wins. Because it's hard to get more creative than forcing the guy to clean. X3
For most effective, Omni wins, for her empathy spell. Because that actually seems like it might help without embarrassing the guy. XD
Salah will get a smaller prize for participating.
Prize amounts are yet to be determined (since I'm not sure what the final prices will be), and will be given out when Scar's shop opens. ^^;
EDIT: Actually, prizes have been decided. ^_^ Winners get 250 cookie points, runner-ups get 100. Remember that everyone starts off with 100 points (see the persona thread). The items will be up later.
