Altador Once a mystery, this land reappeared in Neopia after a thousand-year absence. It has a rich and heroic history... and a really exciting sports tournament!
"This is stupid," Rikku muttered, flicking through the pages. There were notes on lands both in Neopia and the NTWF, but it was mostly just trivia. "Why would I ever want to know how many years Kiss-the-Mortog's been running?" She sighed and flipped the book shut with a decisive 'snap'. "Ah well, it's not like I expected to find something useful in the first book I opened." She smiled. "Would've been nice though." She pulled open A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot and leafed through a few pages. "This doesn't say much about any geography I know," she said, disappointed. "Ah well -"
She broke off and gave a second look to one of the shelves. It seemed to be on dark magic.
"Maybe something on necromancy?" she said hopefully, getting to her feet. "Nothing wrong with more knowledge! And, um, I'm sure I'll find out something about natural magic enhancements there," she justified lamely, heading for the shelf.

"Ah thanks, for a moment I thought you meant they belong in the next aisle."
Omni opened up a weather book that, from the title, sounded like it was more likely to contain info on what kinds of magic were affected by what weather, and started flipping through it.
"We could also try books on different kinds of elemental magic. They might have mentions of conditions that affect the strength of those magics."

Nature yawned and flipped through the book she was reading at the manor library. Gulid Wars was it's title and though the book lacked drawings and other things, it's story was very enchanting. Nature earlier asked her mentor, Omni, if the story in the book really did happen. The fire-furred Zafara said it was.
Now, the Freezemancer was done with the book so she got off her seat, hugging the book next to her, and returned it to the shelf she took it from. She then scoured the shelf for another book she could read. She scanned the titles. Pyromancy for Beginners? Nah. Necromancy 101? Nope. Lady Uisce's Guide to Water Magic? Hmmm. Maybe.
Nature was about to pull Lady Uisce's guide out when another book caught her eye. Curiously, she pushed the book back in the slot and looked at the other book. It was really thick. The cover was a metallic blue with swirls of silver and light-blue and the title said in large, dark-blue letters:
Freezemancy and Chronomancy Combined: How to Control Your Ice Magicks via Musical Instrument.
Nature quickly pulled it out, sat down on her chair and flipped through the pages excitedly. With shaky fingers, the Zafara quickly made it for Unit Two: String Instruments. She flipped the pages more and more until she finally found what she was hoping to find.
Chapter 712.
The Sitar.
Nature read the chapter carefully, paying attention to every little detail. When the hour was up, she went to the librarian and borrowed the large book, hoping that, with the help of it, would be able to control her Freezemancer powers through a electric-blue coloured sitar with snowflake imprints that she got for Christmas.

Rikku looked around, somewhat furtively. Most of the others seemed to be engaged. Nature, who she hadn't seen before here, was by a few books that looked potentially interesting ... but Rikku's attention was caught by the black magic books. She turned her gaze back to them.
A few of them were clean, newish-looking and in relatively good condition, but Rikku was surprised at how many were cracked and crumbling, with suspicious stains, and the painted-in titles (in, of course, strange and arcane languages) flaking away. Oh, come on, why is black magic always preceded by a sense of the dramatic? What makes it any different? She paused. Well, it is death magic, I suppose, or necromancy is, anyway. Black magic's purely concerned with hurting people. Still, it's annoying ... Rikku sighed and selected a volume at random. 'The Laws of Necromancy and Why They Were Established'? I didn't know there were laws ... She scratched her ear. Probably more like guidelines. Anyway - she remembered why she was there - might have a section on enhancements in it, she thought hopefully, and flipped it open.

"Dance snowflakes, dance!"
Nothing happened.
"Dance, snowflakes, dance!"
Still, nothing happened. Nature sighed and sat down dejectedly. She glanced at the pile of snow on the ground and sighed. This was hard. But she wanted to control her snow magicks through her sitar and she felt that she needed to. This sitar was linked to her, she just knew. All it had to do now was cooperate.
Slowly, Nature got up and strummed the strings. With all her heart, the Zafara shouted:
"DANCE SNOWFLAKES DANCE!"
Soon, the snowflakes lifted themselves up in the air. They seemed like they were dancing. Soon, they hit the tree facing Nature, which the Freezemancer used as target practice.
Nature jumped in the air and did a little happy dance. Oh, how happy she felt! She ran inside the library and went to her mentor, Omni, who was quietly reading a book on different magicks.
"Lady Omni! Lady Omni!" The Zafara cried, excitement and pure happiness shining in her eyes. "I learned a new technique!"

((I wasn't aware that we had a librarian… I thought of the manor's library more like a personal library.))
Omni looked up from her book when she heard her name, with a title attached. Lady Omni? she thought. There was a pause as she thought of what to say. "That's nice… I'd ask to see it, but I'm a little busy at the moment. Maybe later? If you want, you can join us. Maybe we can find some stuff on what could strengthen ice magic," she flipped through a few more pages, "…like snowstorms. Hey, Goosh! I think I found one!"
