[glow=green,2,300]Good because I will now teach you the ability to grow vines and direct them. First put your hands at your sides but your palms must face towards the earth. Then once again concentrate but this time on the vines. Raise your hands slowly and vines should follow. Now to direct them move your hands in the direction you want the vines to go.[/glow]

"Questions: When you say at my sides, do you mean so that they're touching my sides or just near them? And do you mean straight up, or just up in general? And if it's both of the former, then what do I do if I want to make the vines to the left or the right? Do I just move the hand that can go in that direction?"

"Okay, thanks for clearing that up." Omni placed her hands near their sides, and began to raise them. Vines followed the movement of her hands. She moved them this way and that, playing with the motions to see what kinds of things she could do, before making them twist around a coat rack, intentionally of course. "Hehe, this is the funnest one so far."  Looking over at the rock she made earlier, she began to get an idea. She created some new vines, which she moved around, over, under, out… "I made a mace!" she said, as she moved over to where there were vines tied around the rock, and pulled on the vines. "Or I will have, once I cut these vines at the base." She extended a claw. |

He then moved his hands towards Omni and vines shot up and snaked towards her. They began to wrap around her legs. "Now show me how you will escape.[/glow]

Rikku stepped into the Earth Magic class and blinked. One of the students, a Zafara, seemed to be wrapped up in vines, while the Kougra who Rikku thought was the teacher wasn't doing anything to help.
"Umm," Rikku said. She wanted to ask what in Neopia was going on, but decided that was kind of awkward and changed her question mid-sentence. "What - how should I start?" she asked, giving a slightly apologetic grin. "Umm, sorry I'm so late, I only just heard about this class ... " She looked at the Kougra and repeated her question, more decisively this time. "How should I start?"

Omni blinked. "Only earth magic? I don't remember you saying that before. I was about to burn them, or cut them with my claws and teeth…"
((Are the vines only around my legs, or have they wrapped up around more than that?))

Oh yeah, that's nothing, she thought sarcastically, then listened to the Earth Mage's next comment. "And now we're on to vines and how to control them. So how about helping Omni figure a way out using only earth magic."
Rikku blinked. "But I don't even know any earth magic ..." she said, confused. "Maybe imagine them retracting ...? Or whacking them really hard with a rock!" she said enthusiastically, though she felt like she was missing the point somewhat.

Omni focussed on the vines, trying to tap into their energy… which was tricky, since they were touching her. Once she was pretty sure she had connected with the vines in the right way, she started focusing on forcing them downward, as well as just outward so they wouldn't be touching her anymore. The vines began to slowly retract into the ground.
"I'm… starting… to get it."

"I'm… starting… to get it," the Zafara said, a note of triumph in her voice. The vines did seem to be retracting back into the ground.
"That's great," Rikku said enthusiastically, and remembering what the teacher - Cyborg - had said earlier, started attempting to conjure a huge razor like leaf from nowhere. Her first effort wasn't exactly a roaring success. Nothing appeared at all. On her second try, something which looked more like a piece of paper than a leaf appeared.
"Why is this so hard?" Rikku muttered under her breath, kicking at the ground in frustration.

[glow=green,2,300] There can be a few reasons why you're not getting it Rikku. 1. You're not thinking or focusing hard enough. 2. You aren't focusing on the proper object. 3 It could just be because you missed a quarter of the class and missed me explain the basics. Now Omni that's great you have learned how to make them retract but I want to see if you can make them disappear completely. [/glow]

[glow=green,2,300]Right now it's good, but on the test I'll be giving you once I've taught you the basics, you will need to be able to make it disappear. Now it's harder than shrinking into nothingness, but it's a lot quicker and very usefull. After the first test I will teach you some more high leveled earth magic, like earthquakes, bringing plants and rocks to life, that kind of stuff.[/glow]
