((The only person who can control time hasn't posted in a LONG while. *makes face* along with half the guild. I believe Scar is a chronomancer or something, isn't he? And MGA, no, you're not likable. ^^ *giggles* Heh, 'likable'...almost makes me wonder if that was an intentional pun on your part. Oh, and 'Lika' is pronounced "LIGH-kah". Just so you know. Because I mentally pronounce what I read and 'lic-ah' sounds weird.)) Aly stared at MGA. "Are you crazy?" she asked, raising a brow. "That kind of spell would drain a person of a heckuva lotta energy, if not kill them." She wondered if she ought to ask MGA to try it just to see him faint, but decided to save it for later. "Crazy water mage," she muttered. Don't you always carry food in that pack of yours? Lika asked her. Oh, yeah. She carefully slipped the pack off while still holding Lika, making sure her quiver didn't fall off as well, and rummaged through it with a hand while balancing the pack on one knee. "Dang it," she muttered, pulling out a slice of stale bread. "I ate it all on the way here." Shrugging, she stuffed the bread in her mouth and slipped the pack back on, swallowing before asking, "Can we not stand around in the hallway for eternity?"

((...I'm not? Dx *goes all angsty and stuff* NO THERE WAS NO PUN. >>
...And yes, it was a very poor attempt to get Scar to post. >_>))
"'Eternity' is a very long time, Aly," MGA said, raising an eyebrow at her. "But you're right."
"There's already abundant magic in the manor, so all we'd actually have to do is find a suitable room, and invert the magic existing inside. We'd need bait to lure the Mageri in, not to mention someone who can cast up the shields fast enough."

"Bait?!", Subila exclaimed. Moments later, she let out a very creepy grin.
"... I vote Aly's cat to be the bait", she raised her hand.

"Bait?" Elycien smiled slightly. "I should think the choice there is obvious. I will. We just have to make sure they see me."
Elerin frowned. "That would be incredibly dangerous-"
She smiled brightly. "Don't worry. I can take care of myself. And if none of us could use magic, I think I'd have the advantage. I'm fairly handy with a sword."

"Don't worry. I can take care of myself," Elycien said. "And if none of us could use magic, I think I'd have the advantage. I'm fairly handy with a sword."
"Anyone have an idea where we can get one of those? Or are you hiding one on your person, Elcie?"
It was then that Omni noticed the presence of magical a energy, but it didn't quite feel like the energy coming from her fellow mages. It had a sort of... stubborn, sturdy feel to it. It felt like it was earth magic, and like it was coming from the ground!
"JUMP!" Omni shouted, doing as she said. It was times like these that she was glad to be an animal, her strong hind legs allowed her to spring up high, close to the ceiling. As she did so, rocks quickly shot up and clapped together where she was sitting a moment ago, and she was glad that she didn't get encased. Though it would be a moment before she could tell if and how any of the other mages escaped.

Subila was surprised when Omni shouted without any apparent reason. It sounded more of a command rather than a warning.
"Jump?! Who are YOU, telling me to jump-"
Before she could finish her statement, rocks began separating from the floor, quickly rising up and trying to trap Omni. The half-feline wasn't sure where the spell came from, but she was pretty sure it wasn't someone among them.
Subila wasn't able to jump, thanks to her very weak form. However, she found an alternative: she shifted herself back to shadow form, merging with Omni's shadow. The half-feline knew she was safe that way, but she could not do anything while on that state. She could only watch the others try to save themselves from the spell.

"JUMP!" yelled Omni, following her own advice as she spoke. Salah pushed off the ground awkwardly, tripping as she landed on rocks that reach almost the peak of her jump. She got awkwardly to her feet, wincing.
"What was--" Salah began in the panicked voice that had been getting so much work lately. "How--" She stopped herself, trying to form a full sentence, and then gave up. She instead occupied herself with waiting for someone else to speak, looking to see if everyone was okay and rubbing her elbows.

Startled by Omni's yell to jump, Surf manipulated a gust of wind and hovered on it, moreso out of instinct than obediance. She stared in surprise at the ground and then looked back up to the other mages, and asked, "Is anyone else thinking it's the Mageri, or is it just me?"

At Omni's command to jump, MGA glanced quickly at the ground and at the other mages. Stone traps sprung up from the ground, and most mages managed to avoid them. He was't good at responding quickly to commands, though, and by this time jumping would likely result in the stones clapping over half of his body.
MGA waited for the stones to fully cover him before he evaporated and exited through a small gap in the stones. He reformed outside the stone. "...I think we'd better hurry with making that room."

Aly had heard Omni's barked, "Jump!" Thankfully, she managed to leap in time, and grabbed onto the nearest thing sticking out within reach--a light fixture. She swung her legs up as the stones closed over where she'd just landed, and nimbly jumped down, stepping to the side as the light fixture fell from the strain of her weight. "Thanks Omni," she said, brushing her robe off. She glanced around and swore under her breath. "Lika!" I absolutely hate earth, the cat said to Aly. It's cold and...earthy. "Dang it," Aly muttered. "Is anyone else thinking it's the Mageri, or is it just me?" "It's not you," the fire mage said, growling. A wisp of vapor caught her eye, as MGA reformed into human shape. "...I think we'd better hurry with making that room," he said. "Reluctantly, I agree." She stomped on the stone covering the hallway as hard as she could, to no avail. "Dang it, Lika, where are you?" Under you, stupid. Aly stomped on the spot again as Lika scratched the rock. The stone's hard, as any sane person woule expect. And no, you aren't going to melt it unless you want to set the wole place on fire. Aly growled again. "How did they do that anyway?" she demanded. If the Mageri could do that...well, she really wished she could fly about now.

Both Elycien and Elerin sprang backwards, narrowly avoiding the traps from the floor. Elerin gave the floor a very nasty glare. "Perhaps we should head outside now. The Mageri on the inside seem to have caught up with us."
Inwardly, he was wondering if this was even worth the bother. His concern, after all, was with the other Thirecat, not the others. However... he found he couldn't help staying, just to see what would happen next.

"Perhaps we should head outside now," Elycien's friend suggested. "The Mageri on the inside seem to have caught up with us."
"Yeah, we definitely should," Salah agreed.

"Pronto," Aly added, still uttering swear words under her breath. For some odd reason, she seemed to be using Latin. "Is everyone else here, though?"

"I'm okay for fleeing, if this is what we get. I like my floors stable, thank you very much," added Surf. "Although I am glad for my wind magic at the moment."

"Ready whenever you are!" Omni half-shouted as she glided down, trying to stay in the air as long as possible.

The lieutenant mentally snapped her fingers. It was amazing, how well the mages could dodge. If that cursed talking animal hadn't noticed the spell before it had been used, they would likely be trapped in stone, save for the water mage, but she had something especially useful for him. That was the silver lining: she had learned things simply by watching/listening to them just now, things that would be helpful later. Now, what to do next...? The possibilities rolled through her mind.
