Andra shrugged. "Well, I 'ad guessed that much, but not much farther. I dunno if there's something about 'er mind, but I don' think she'd've 'ad that reaction if there was'n' somethin' 'bout 'er mind ... I don' think 'avin wings c'n make too much o' a diff'rence..."

Dayna listened, still petting Beej. She didn't notice the purple light emanating from her hand.
((It can do something or not do anything at all. Just putting a link between Dayna and the jewel inside her. By the way, you guys can posess jewels too if you want.))

((I have a different sort of thing in store for Amika, thanks all the same ^^ (MUAHAHA!! XD)))
Amika looked at Andra again, not quite convinced that the older girl was telling the entire truth... as usual. But she said nothing and continued to go over the cat.
Suddenly, her hands flashed a coppery-silver light. Amika started, and fell backwards. 'What was that?' she said, shakily. 'That wasn't water magic... water is my element! My only element! At least, I thought it was...'

Dayna took her hand off the cat and the glow immediately stopped. She looked back at Amika, a bit confused. She hadn't really seen what had happened.

Amika scrambled to her feet, hand on the hilt of her sword. 'Who are you?' she said shakily. She could feel her powers inside her, along with some new ones she had never felt before, and they were going crazy. She was working hard to keep them under control, to make sure they didn't destroy anything.

Fiona was deep in thought. I NEED to get that jewel. but that girl won't let herself die((yep, when someone takes a jewel out of their posessor, the posessor dies.)) like that...I've got to find a way to control her or something. The only problem with that is that I don't know how to create a controlling spell. Hmm...what if I could make her believe I'm good? YES! The memory pendant! I'll use it as soon as I get the occasion. She smirked and cleared her throat.

Unknown as of yet to Amika, she was one of the extremely rare Tijanese who possessed the powers of every element, as well as some added specialities. And right now, Amika's brand-new not-quite-discovered powers were going haywire. And that was allowing her to do some pretty strange things. Like, at the moment, read minds.
It was only snatches, though. No more than a word at a time. From Andra's mind, she managed to catch, 'Beej? ... stalling...' which she had no idea what meant and wasn't really interested in. From the other girl, Dayna she only caught a few words that seemed to express that she was worried about the cat.
What really caught Amika's attention, though, was the witch-lady, Fiona.
Amika had managed to catch the words '... die.... control... spell...' which made her even more suspicious of Fiona then she had been in the beginning. She strained to try to catch more, but at that moment her head was split with a fresh headache, like someone had dropped a hammer on her head. She groaned and fell to her knees, clutching her head and waiting for it to pass.

Amika rubbed her forehead and got up. 'I will be alright... my head is really bothering me today, that is all.' Somehow it didn't seem wise to tell anyone about her sudden power-expansion.

Dayna replied, "Okay, if you say so." she let out a small yawn. "Sorry, I've only gotten about two hours of sleep tonight, I'm a little bit tired."
