Do you think there'll be a new grey-themed poetry gallery every day for the rest of the week, or just one more on Thursday as per usual? No idea, but I'm guessing they're doing a similar thing to what they did for Illusen Day? Anyway, my poem got held over. ^o^ Hoping it appears in a Grey Day gallery. Edit: Ahhhh! It is included!! *happydance* Congratulations to TJ Wagner and Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff), too. Really love your narrative poetry, TJ. And Fluffle-- that line "hiding in fame" is so interesting!

Today, I submitted a poem about Biscuit the Mutant Bearog. I decided to try writing a narrative poem. ^-^ Alone in the forest a Bearog strayed, Alone because he had only one head. He tried to join the others in the glade, But they all remarked, "We'd rather drop dead."
How he wished he were normal like them, With 3 heads, 3 tongues, 6 ears and 6 eyes. Oh how he longed to fit in with them, To have a self of triple size.
But no, he only had the one head, One voice, two eyes, one sorrowful face. Many a miserable tear he shed, As he hid alone in the nowhere-place.
Until one day a Wocky came near, And said, "What a beautiful Petpet you are! Do you belong to anyone here? You don't? Oh wow! Now that's just bizarre!"
She scooped him up in her gentle arms, And tried to help him find his home. She carried him past fields and farms, To where the normal Bearogs roam.
But he snuggled close and wouldn't go. "This isn't my home," he tried to say. She looked and suddenly seemed to know What it was he'd been trying to convey.
From that moment on he had a name, A family, and a place where he could stay. Biscuit the Bearog will never be the same. He is loved, accepted, no longer a stray.
Edit: I'm on a roll today. o.o Just wrote and sent in another poem, for Lutari Day (April 19). Lutari, Lutari, where are you from?
I come from an island far away: Home to the sand crab, the leafy palm, And the little Turdle that swims in the bay.
Lutari, Lutari, why did you leave?
A storm overwhelmed my land one day. There hardly was any time to grieve; I had to flee, I could not stay.
Lutari, Lutari, where will you go?
I follow the foam and fresh sea-spray. I swim in the light of the moon's soft glow. I eat and rest on beach-rocks grey, And I journey on with the ocean's flow.
The horizon calls and I obey. Above my head the Pawkeets crow. Around my body the Flotsams play, And the sparkling Kelp-strands gently grow.
At times I must fight to not be prey. At times I am trapped in the grip of woe. At times I lose sight of the sun's bright ray, But I go on with the ocean's flow.

I like those, Stephanie, especially the Bearog one! Hey, I made it into Part II of Grey Day! (I thought the poem I submitted was a bit short and had a theme a little more... "mature" than the average poem but it still made it in so yay!) And congrats Oliver, TJ, Fluffle, and Stephanie!

I love the poems Stephanie. I just wrote my Lutari one the other day, but I like yours better. I'm so glad there was a Part II of Grey Day. Lovely poems everyone!

So, reading the Editorial, it turns out Lawyerbot is leaving. We should do a farewell Lawyerbot Poetry contest, since normally his day is 4/15.

My poem got TMGE'd, but that's probably my fault for picking A Tail of Two Krawks.
Do you guys think I should resubmit for a random day later, or that particular subject is simply too generic?

Actually that was my poem was about this time around, but I'd probably resubmit if I were you. Yours was definitely better than mine. I think Fluffle also did one about them (unless she was talking about yours), which is why I wasn't sure if it was worth resubmitting even after the day. But, I guess there is no harm in trying again, or waiting until next year. It'll keep. Congrats, by the way! =)

Just as a warning, since Friday is a holiday in the states, TNT might not come in. If they don't, then Lutari day will probably be Thursday.

Did everyone who won last week get their poetry trophy and prize yet?
I don't want to submit a ticket just yet because TNT may be busy, but was surprised that the lag was so long this time, especially since there's a long weekend coming up too.

Same here, and I heard others complaining of the same thing.

I wrote something quick for Lutari Day/Easter. It's in a more narrative format; I don't seem to do well with narrative poems, but oh well. A young Lutari, while on a walk, Found an egg lying in the grass. He pocketed the egg and grinned; "I wonder what this will hatch into?"
To his little egg he did talk, Handling it as though it was precious glass. "Will we play Gormball? Will you play violin? Will you be small enough to fit in my shoe?"
He dreamed about they would do when it hatched, The adventures the two would go on. Maybe they'd go visit Kreludor! Or play with his Angelpuss, Craig!
To his little egg he'd become quite attached. But then a Cybunny strode over the lawn. "Hey!" she said. "It's lost no more! "You've found my chocolate egg!"
The Lutari frowned as he looked at the thing; Indeed, it appeared to be candy. He gave it back to her, but smiling, added, "Instead, are you going to be my friend?"
"Sure!" She grinned as they walked. "I'm Ming. We can play ball, visit my Miamous Sandy..." "I'm Mike, we're gonna have fun!" he said. It was well worth losing an egg, in the end.

I forgot all about Kougra day somehow, so I wrote up a quick poem this morning. It's a little different from my usual poems, which I hope will be a good thing.
Good luck everyone!
