Well, like I said I have an idea, I think could be quite fun. It's an archery contest, open to any guild members. I've already thought of a fair system, and if I get enough interest I will start putting my plan in action. If I do get interest from atleast 12 people, I will start. I will however need to speak to Guild leaders, Spacefleet: Strife, Pirates: Hunty, Mercs: unless changed, Elycien, Knights: Wolf (or Shade if Wolf has left on his trip by the time this starts), I will need to know the 'leader' or the Ninjas and Mages aswell. You may ask why, and I have an answer. Since I figured this is to help Guild activity, why not Guild related prizes. So I really just need to talk, for ideas. Hopefully if this contest is a success, we can get atleast a little more activity.

You might want to lower the people needed for you to start, Cyb. And I, at least, would like to know more about what your ideas are, other than just 'I think we should have an archery contest!' How're you planning to make it work right now, or do you even have an idea?

*seconds Shade* The best contests are the ones that don't hang off a big number of people, or a fixed number of people at all, because otherwise someone's bound to end up waiting after someone else, and so forth. And I'd also like to hear how it'll be pulled off, per se. I mean, if this was me, my first thought would be something dice-based, similar to what Shoi is running with the ninjas, but archery has quite a bit of skill involved and having it hang off the randomness of the dice wouldn't be quite the right thing (although might work well).
...my shoulderdevil is poking me with her trident and suggesting something maths-based. 'You're standing fifteen feet away from the target and the windspeed is at 3 mph from behind. At which angle and at which speed do you need to shoot in order to hit the bullseye?' :3
(No, even I'm not that cruel. Although I'm now curious what the answer would be.)

Ikkin for mages, maybe Crystal for ninjas?

Well 12 is ideal I guess, but 7 or 8 would be great. Well I figured to make it completely fair, and there's no, so and so rigged it, or they cheated. Leave it up to the dice. If I can get ideas from the Guild leaders, there will be 6 rounds, each with a Guild themed prize such as one round being a Pirate related prize, one for Mages, ect. After I have the list of registered archers I will announce the start of each round. Each archer will roll three 20 sided die (using the generator on here), which in essence is fairly close to shooting three arrows at a target, with the point values. After every archer has taken their 'three shots' and the shooting is over, I will compare the results of each archer, that with the highest point value winning that round, getting that prize. This will continue with the other rounds until all the prizes are given away. Ofcourse if person A wins round 1, they can't be in the other rounds, so other people can win prizes too.

Sarn - PFA or Vyt for ninjas, actually.
Cyb - Okay. Explain why it should be twelve people. And why, if someone wins one round, they can't be in the rest, since it's a dice game. It's based on luck. Everyone has an equal chance of winning. So. Yeah.

I thought twelve just because. Not an actual reason, just a hope. Well Shade as for the second thing, it's more of a precaution, so if one person wins one, to make sure they don't win again. That way there is definitely less, no fair ______ already won a prize. And I find it's even more equal, that way you don't have someone with walking away with two or three prizes.

Chikkin's been busy with jobhunting recently. Not particularly active, forum-wise.
And yeah, if it's a dice game, it'll have to be very non-prize-centric, with emphasis on simply participating and Having Something To Do. Me likey ^^ But in that case it'll have to be pretty informal in essence. Doesn't have to have a limit of participants, it'd work well with a limit of time. Like, anyone who wants can shoot within 12 hours, and the highest score gets a prize. That way it could last ad infinitum, much like RCP. Actually it'd then be a bit too much like RCP, but if the prize was a surprise and a different thing each time, it could keep interest up.

Hmm I agree, I could give a round, like a 24 hour time limit, to give as many as possible a chance to shoot, and have a different prize each time. I like!

I don't really have anything to say beyond the fact that an archery contest has Jernath's name written all over it. XDDD
...However though, that does bring up a question in the back of my mind. The whole dice thing is great and all, but somehow I can't get rid of that odd feeling that the experienced archers such as Jernath and those that have hardly even touched a bow like PFA would have equal chances of winning. Not every guild has archers, after all. XD; *coughSpacefleetcough* But, uhhh, calculating something like that would probably be a pain in the butt, so I dunno.

Well PFA I did think about how different people are differently skilled at archery, but I feel this is a way to make it more fair, and open to everyone and not just those skilled.

But, uhhh, calculating something like that would probably be a pain in the butt, so I dunno. It isn't too bad as long as you ignore air resistance. Once that comes into play, the whole thing would become a nightmare. Anyway, this could be fun. However, I would suggest trying to find someone else to talk to in Spacefleet. In all honesty, Strife hasn't been around here at all since midway through GW2. I think Keng is the highest-ranking active 'Fleet member.

From the way I see it, it looks quite the same as Shoichi's Thrown Weapons thread but with prizes. Honestly, this seems like a lottery to me, with very little interaction between guilds. Every participant would just post with three dice rolls and let the others do that as well. It's a very informal and straight-forward game. What would be the prizes?

The prizes would be whatever I and the Guild leaders could think of. And Vyt, right now it's one of the only ideas we have now.
