Brandon turned and left, for two reasons:
One, he was due for Transfiguration.
Two, he didnt want Gwen to be able to prove him wrong - which she could oh so easily and oh so truthfully - and therefore, he would, in his own mind, have won their current blame-game.

Gwen shook her head sadly and annoyedly. "Well, he's trying to convince himself that it was my fautl everyone found out about his animagi abilities, apparently I was trying to profit from finding out he could turn into a gryphon, and somehow that started everything ... there's no way he can believe it; he knows as well as I do that everyone found out on their own, and I'd never actually tell someone his secret, or force him to do something awful for my secrecy. I just wanted to know a few things about ..." She shifted her weight uncomfortably; ever since Jordan had ((to quote a teenager)) burned her at the ball a few nights ago, she had felt very odd about her former crush on him. "...someone."

I shrugged. "You'll have to give me a better description than that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna have a bit of fun as a registered Animagus," I tole her, morphing into a black panther. It was fun to be different animals, but I still liked the black panther.
Quickly outpacing her, I rounded a corner and saw a boy.

Suddenly, for no reason at all, I felt a surge of anger go through me, hatred at this human who dared to cross my path. With a roar, I leapt on his back, bringing him to the ground. Yelling, the boy turned over onto his back, and I promptly brought my teeth around his throat, silencing his screams.
{Very un-Shae-like. You may hear her roar and his yells, come around the corner, make her un-transform and bring her to the mental health section in St. Mundungus's for having a nervous breakdown after killing a classmate.}
