Marie closed her eyes and tried to look like she was sleeping. She thought hard of the slip of paper she had written on earlier. Obviously, she couldn't take it out of her Ancient Runes book with Gwen and Mercy present. Hm... I think the conclusions were that...um... someone at school has an inisibility cloak, and that the person with the cloak was also an animagus. From what McGonnigal said, it's a boy at school who's the animagus. The animagus with the cloak also has black hair... That, and Mercy just gave me a clue that ties it all together: Brandon's the griffin that tore my robes... who bumped into me. And... that snippit of info tells me that he had been the invisible thing in the kitchens.
She would've run out of the Hospital Wing immediately had the hour been up; but it hadn't. Marie took another glass of water and sat up, drinking it. She could already feel her strength coming back, but she had a feeling that if she got up right now, she'd feel very woozy. After finishing the drink, she lay back down on the pillows.

This isn't good...} I began to get even more nervous that I would never find out what the darn thing was when Madame Pomfrey turned back to me, holding a book. "Shae, do you have any... special powers? Metamorphmagus, or something?" I gulped. "Er..." I moved closer to her and, in a very quiet voice, said, "I'm an Animagus." "Registered?" I winced. "I've only been able to change for the past two days, and I never had a chance to send Tarn to the Ministry of Magic with a letter." She nodded. "Well, what did you say that thing was before you were hit by lightning?" "Just a jewel. Some light blue stone with white and black metal around it that I hung with a silver chain on my forehead. I got it with my dress robes." She nodded again. "The black metal was Soul Silver, the white Angel Gold. The stone was Magus Crystal. Very rare. I doubt whoever sent it to you knew what they had. The lightning fused all these things together and since it was on your forehead, which is the center of your knowledge and therefore your Animagus power, the stone becoming part of your skin no doubt took some of your power and entered it into the stone. The silver and gold had most probably already been doing the same thing before the lightning. Now, I highly doubt that we can get it off, so come with me and we'll send an owl to the Ministry of Magic to register your Animagus power." I nodded and followed her to the Owlry. Soul Silver? Angel Gold? Magus Crystal?If I was going to have something I couldn't remove in the center of my forehead, why couldn't it have at least made sense? |

Marie suddenly sat up and got out of bed. "Ah! Madame Pomfry!..? May I please go back to Herbology, I'm feeling much better!"
"Yes, dear. I suppose you've stayed here long enough to get most of your strength back." Madame Pomfry called back to Marie as she left with Shae.
The girl was relieved. Although she had missed the majority of class in the Hospital Wing, at least she'd have enough time to make some observations and such of the plants they were looking at today. She rushed off towards the greenhouses, but slid to a halt just before reaching the doors of the school. How clumsy of her to forget her bookback! Especially with her Experimental Potions notebook still tucked inside!
She quickly hit her head and started jogging back to the Hospital Wing.

Brandon dashed back to the common room.
He unstuffed his pack, and hid the cloak, hten set out for some rest and relaxation outdoors before Transfiguration.
However, he had to pass the hospital wing, and didnt notice Marie until too late.

Marie looked onto the Hospital Wing. It was... Brandon! She sprinted towards him, grabbing his arm as she got there.
"We need to talk... Griffin boy." She said under her breath. Although she was furious with him, she just didn't have the heart to yell at the boy.

She said, sprinting full speed the the Hospital Wing and back. Having grabbed her bookbag, she came back and rummaged through it, getting the slip of paper with all the clues on it out of her Ancient Runes book. She handed him the paper, and patiently waited for him to read it. |
