"You're getting there," He smirked. "If I do tell you, you need to swear not to tell anyone else. Ever."

"Well...." She looked at him impishy, then became serious. "I promise upon my siblings graves." She held her right palm up, showing a scar linned across it.

He sighed and pulled her over to the far corner of the fire, whispering quietly. "Fact in truth. I'm an angel. Well, angel in training." His face was straight and serious.

She frowned mulling it over, then she nodded. "I believe you. But if you're from ah up there-" She pointed to the cieling- "how come you are down here? It isn't the best place around. And I'll keep my promise."

Looks around again "Honestly, I have no clue. I just do what I'm told. And that's why I always wear the jacket." he folds it back revealing the tip of a pure white hawkgirl like wing.

In the meadows, Maemi sat with a fire burning merrily in front of her. She sighed and glanced at the plants and creatures around her, watching her gracefully.
(Sorry I haven't posted here . . . umm . . . is that okay, up there?)

Tia quickly finished her meal.
"We aren't going back out there in the snow, are we?" Emerald asked plaintively, looking up at Tia.
The snake didn't really speak, of course. It was just a kind of game that Tia played with herself. Her imagination was too vivid. She would almost believe that Emerald really did speak English, or that she could speak to snakes, if she didn't know she didn't have any magic and that no one else could hear Emerald's voice.
"There isn't anywhere else to go," Tia murmured, hoping no one would see her talking to the snake. She really was too old to keep playing games like this. But for whatever silly reason, she couldn't stop. "The inn's full; I asked."
Emerald raised her head up off her coils. "I know." The small snake rearranged herself slightly to be evenly warmed. "We can stay for at least a while. The man won't notice that you've finished because there are so many here tonight."
Emerald's speech was all a game, but Tia's subconscious did generate some good points through it. "You're right, but we shouldn't linger too long. It looks like there has been at least one fight already tonight."
Emerald closed her eyes to bask in the fire's warmth. Tia stared contemplatively into the fire. Surely the journey home wouldn't take more than a few weeks, even if she had to walk the whole way. It couldn't...right?

In her room, Shoni stirred restlessly. Something wasn't allowing her to sleep; it wasn't the temperature or the different atmosphere to the room. It was something else, but she couldn't be sure what.
After a few more minutes of tired, bewildering tossing and turning, she decided to go back down to the tavern which was attached to the inn. Faint drunken noises taunted her ears; perhaps that was why sleep wouldn't come to her.
She dragged herself out of the bed and dressed back into her brown breeches, white shirt, and silvery blue tunic. Quietly, she shut the door behind her, pocketed her room key, and clambered softly down the stairs.
She rushed--she didn't know why she was so hurried--to the counter, plunked down some coins, and ordered some spiced cider. Perhaps it would help soothe her somehow puzzled spirit. After receiving her drink, she slipped back over to the table in which Cyra, Xaiver, and everyone else were sitting. She hoped to sneak back into conversation.

Morph comes spaltering right into X's hair.
"Morph you silly blob!"
Morph grinned happily.
"Always easily amused. That's morph," he laughed a bit. "And much thanks for that. Thinking's not exactly my strong suit."

"I see," Tylvanias says. "Anything else?"
"I don't know what kind of blood I am. I let me tell you a secret, I'm not a human, not a dwarf, not an elf, not a half-elf, not what you expect, even though both of my parents had human blood. I don't know what I am."
"Yup, they did it for their own entertainment, but all they were doing is making me miserable."
"Yup, and you can see for yourself, if the witch wasn't out there." She sighs. "I wouldn't have beleived it unless I saw it, and I did. I'm glad you like your horse! He sound very friendly!"
"I have no clue why she did it. She must have been an evil witch. She is very powerful. The only way to break the curse... is to kill her."
