(Okay...just pretend I didn't say I didn't know him)
IC:
Lynke smiled. "Knorax the Knife..." she mused for a second, before continuing. "Suppose she went by a different name? Suppose Knorax the Knife, what if she wasn't a man? What if she was, say ... my other name?" Lynke grinned, however, her smile was a little on the evil side. "Yes, Darlinti...I do remember follwing you periodicly, as you pay rather well for the killings you need done ... so, I do find it ironic that you hate killing, yet you hire Bounty Hunters...?"

((Er... what I meant was that every time the VILLAGE can afford a bounty hunter, you're the one that they usually pay to chase me into the ground...))

(Hm. My bad. Okay, here goes again: ) Lynke smiled. "Knorax the Knife..." she mused. She had always been fond orthe craetive name. She paused for a second, thoughtful, before continuing. "Suppose this Knorax...suppose she went by a different name? What if Knorax the Knife was my other name? And .... yes ..." She grinned. "Many-a-times I have been hired to stalk you ... yet each time you have narrowly evaded my grasp. However, had I actually been hired to kill you and not to simply scare you and tire you, your head would be now served on a platter with an apple in your mouth." Lynke smiled for a second, before continuing. "However, I never hold a grudge against those who I've been hired to stalk." She shrugged.

A less controlled man might have gaped. A less controlled man might have knocked over the table, killed the bounty huntress, and ran.
I sat coolly in front of her, not showing her my surprise. "Just out of curiosity, Knorax, how's that knife wound in your shoulder healing up? Or the broken collarbone? What about the arrow hole through the leg?" All three were wounds I had given her on the rare occasions that we actually met as she was chasing me. I had only hurt her a few other times; a cut on the hip-probably only barely deep enough to leave a scar-a dagger through the arm-which I left there, the rest of the blade in a tree trunk, pinning her there until she got it out-and I'd hit her head against a rock, once.

Lynke's smile had turned a little sour. "Oh, and let's not forget ... that poison dagger through your foot, did it ever stop getting slimy and attracting leeches? Might be wary; I've improved my poison a thousand times over by now ... and how about the time my raven sliced through your ear? Or the time you were almost beheaded by way of my knife?" Her voice had almost turned icy. "Or have you forgotten the time I first realized I could transform into a Zynae? (OOC: Just made that up. I'll post it in my profile) I'm surprised you can even move your arm after that incident..." Lynke smiled a little; she could think up just as many - if not more - injuries that Darlinti could.

I waved my hand as if flicking a bug away. "Minor injuries, hardly taking a second to heal. Really, I thought you would have figured that out, from the way I could just get up and walk away from those scratches. Humans are so small-minded and weak."

"Oh, you actually assumed I was human?" Lynke smiled widely. "Well, you always were easy to fool, but ... really, me, a human? Honestly, you really need to get your act together..."

"What are you, then? An Elf? They're not much better."

Lynke eyed him dangerously. "That," she said slowly "is for me to know, and for me to tell you as I am dying." She paused for a second, before continuing confidently "Of course, you'll be long dead by means of my knife before then."

"You don't want to get on the bad side of a Bounty Hunter." Lynke said in an icy tone.

I smirked. "Oh? Or are you afraid?" She tensed up a bit, but I didn't flinch, even knowing that she was probably reaching for her weapons.

Lynke smiled icily. "Well, I wouldn't be a very good BOunty Hunter if I rose to everyone else's bait."
