What about people who don't have that? You do realise the joke right? Um...<_< >_> ...Maybe? Maybe 3 games per guild? (if games repeat don't worry about it). Three games for six guilds is eighteen games...how long are these games going to be?

I'm thinking each game should take no more than a week and a half (prefferably 3 games in that week and one half... hmm.. on second thought... deffinately lower it to 2...) IOW, short games.

Amneiger, I was making a joke reference to the Mario Party series for the Nintendo 64 due to Keng wanting lots and lots of minigames. XD

When I first read it I thought you actually did say Mario Party xD Then you said it was a joke and I looked closer and saw that you'd written Guild Party.

I'd probably make this an overall new topic if I wasn't so generally lazy (plus I don't like starting topics xD) so I'll just expand on this one, kthx? It's on topic, promise.
So I've been involved with the guilds pretty much from the beginning, and seen them grow over the years, and new ones getting added. They all started out with a big whee and lots of members and activities, but times did some weeding and by now only the strong have survived, pardon the melodrama. We have six guilds and maybe a dozen active members in them altogether. Half of the guilds are dead and anyway the only recent activity in them has been roleplays, which is a tad one-sided and hardly inviting for newbies.
Whereas I believe that we have potential for so much more. And also just got this weird urge to go paint my face blue and deliver the rest of this post standing on the back of the blarf waving a sword around, but do bear with me >> Point being, I think we've become too scattered and territorial, each doing their own thing in their own corner but too few in numbers to pull off anything big. The most successful guildly things have been the GWs, because they involved the masses.
What I think we could use is more mingling in general. More crossover RPs, meaning people posting in other guilds' RPs and getting involved as their characters (ambassadors of other guilds, basically). Guild-specific events and games and shops that are open for all. The Pirates had their RPC, there's no reason why we can't open that for all and swindle you out of your belongings instead of swapping our own belongings around :] We don't need so much events - because someone has to run those events - but, quite simply, Stuff To Do, which in a forum means people to talk to. And as of right now, that's limited to our own guilds and consequently, only a few people who are still active. The open-for-all threads in the guilds never took off well, since they weren't themed and there wasn't anything to talk about.
I'm still all for more general-guild-events, and I still like the idea of a karma game, but what I'm also proposing here is some overall cultural integration, as it were. Kinda like the Neopets worlds, where you go to the Pirates Guild if you feel like tossing some dice, and the Spacefleet HQ if you feel like buying a laser, and the Knights' castle if you want to train-duel with someone. I'd appreciate more contribution to the Design a Blarf thread, in fact. And so forth.
What say ye, laddies? Yea or nay?
*shot'd*
Could use opinions on this, anyway >>

I agree with Hunty, more mass guild activities would be fun. In terms of crossover RPs, I've offered the idea in the Merc guild a few times about a Hire-a-Merc thing where some guild or another could be having issues going on in their RP, so they hire a merc to help 'em out, thus the merc character joining the RP. We've still never really gone anywhere with the idea, though. >_> *coughs* Any other guildly people interested in that idea? Speaking of guildly games, I know there was one I did in the Ninja Guild a while ago, that died off... we could probably open that up to the public, it's a fairly generic game anyway. Aaannnddd yeah, that's all I really have to contribute. XD; More guildly activities would be awesome. EDIT: And I just realized how much I used the non-word 'guildly' in this post. XDDDD

More activities for all the guilds would be fun and would certainly breathe new life into a long dead board. Crossover RPs have a lot of beaurocratic stuffs involved, with getting both the guild's consent and wish to be in the RP and all as well as having a tendancy to die off but if people are willing to work on them and just go along with it, it could work. =3
PFA, that game looks fun. =3 Maybe it could be in the form of a competition for the ninja guild sending out a challange to everyone else for...I don't know, because they are bored? xD *brick'd*
But yeah, I love the idea of more guildly things and activities. ^^

I like PFA's idea, like I have stated before. I like the idea of bringing back RPC. Even Russian Roulette would be fun. XD I'm surprised Mercs don't do that when they're bored. Well I would be willing to help come up with RP ideas. I agree, the most sucess for keeping the guilds alive are GWs. And since people seem to be questioning on even having one this year I won't suggest it. I liked the mages Magic classes. What if they were open to anyone too? And I remember a concept that was in the Pirates and I believe Ninjas aswell a while ago. Two person RPs. The fight tournament/training sessions. It could be fun if we got someone to run it. Which I would gladly do.

I'd appreciate more contribution to the Design a Blarf thread, in fact. And so forth. I didn't want to say anything until it was done, I couldn't help but giggle when I saw you post that as I've been working on a new blarf over the past month. It's up now So, on that note, I'm all for a little bit of tourism in the guilds. It'd feel more ... I dunno.. right too as far as the guild world goes too, that we all visit eachother, trade, stop over for dinner leave with all the silverware in our pockets, toss some dice, ask for spell assistance etc. So heck yes to opening up the guilds. So on that note, Huntress, if you don't mind the swabby who's hardly around the weewoo anymore offering this, I'd like to invite people to head over to the Free The Blarfs thread over in the Pirate guild and look around, and maybe I'll even go revive the PRCP later on. I'll also get to work on putting togeather some game ideas and rules or whatever for the Guilds Fair (name still in the works >.>). I would be happy to open it up to the rest of the forum as well and infact I plan to

*insta-shoots Sarn in the eye* ...mrnm, sorry thar, reflexes. (Fact: Captain Hunty is a strict teetotaller. If she wasn't, she wouldn't be a particularly good captain. We do stock rum, though, largely for medicinal purposes, and you don't steal from us twice x3) So, on that note, I'm all for a little bit of tourism in the guilds. It'd feel more ... I dunno.. right too as far as the guild world goes too, that we all visit eachother, trade, stop over for dinner leave with all the silverware in our pockets, toss some dice, ask for spell assistance etc. So heck yes to opening up the guilds. Mind? Me? That's exactly what I was advocating :333 Ideally anyone should be able to suggest reviving some old activity they find at the bottom of some other guild, regardless of whether they're actually a member of that guild. In fact, what I'm mostly suggesting here (and would've suggested two days ago but my net died just as I'd hit Post Reply and the entire post went poof and I was multitasking at the time so I was all 'screw dis, maybe later') ...what I'm suggesting is the general change of mindset. As it is, we may all be lurking each other's guilds every once in a while out of curiosity, but we're all being polite and honorable and not actually posting on foreign territory. Which is nice and all, but that's what's been killing the guilds. I'm not saying that we should now all go stampede over each other's guilds, but we should drop the shield of This Is Not My Place To Post, at least. If you're being courteous, I'd think it's a-okay to post in any guild. ...and yes, all arteests of all guilds are kindly invited to go design a blarf, because the ol' bugger seems to be impossible to pin down appearance-wise and I'd be very interested to see how y'all see him :3

Why don't we actually have Design-A-Blarf as a guild activity? x3 It would certainly be a nice way to kick things off.
Heck, if we tried we could even design a roleplay out of it.
